We've already nailed the Fox people. Let's get the cast next.

What the hell is wrong with fox!! Okay, I've been e-mailing them about ten times a day, I never get a response and today, here is what i get:
Subj: Returned mail Date: 6/3/2002 4:31:18 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: Norton_AntiVirus_Gateways@fox.com To: J1rulesc99@aol.com Sent from the Internet (Details)
--- The message cannot be delivered to the following address. ---
gailb@fox.com Mailbox unknown or not accepting mail. 554 Transaction failed
AND THIS:
Subj: Returned mail Date: 6/3/2002 4:29:50 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: Norton_AntiVirus_Gateways@fox.com To: J1rulesc99@aol.com Sent from the Internet (Details)

askfox@foxinc.com Mailbox unknown or not accepting mail. 554 Transaction failed
Apparently, Fox is not accepting anymore e-mails because they have already received too many e-mails regarding Dark Angel. Well, screw them! I'm still not giving up.

I like the idea of sending cast members 1 appreciation letter, after all I'm sure they would appreciate our support and compliments. But this can be done on an individual level. There's no logic to bombarding the cast or crew because they have no say in the series being continued or cancelled. We have to concentrate our efforts towards those who have the final say in the matter. Rupert Murdoch owns the Fox Network, if he gets enough heat, he can "call downstairs" and get DA back on in a NY minute. That's exactly what happened with America's Most Wanted. I won't deny that it's alot easier for that show because John Walsh is the only star. The FOX Execs also are a legitimate target because they obviously are the one's to make the decision. James Cameron is legitamate because he has klout in Hollywood, and in effect represents the cast and crew he might also be swayed to get the show on other networks, or go with TV movies. Basically Jessica Alba, Michael Weatherly, etc., probably wouldn't have much pull in this endevour except by choosing not to return.

They may have put filters on to kick out any Dark Angel emails - you can try not using Dark Angel in the subject line - that's usually where the filter checks. Seems like they are feeling the heat a bit! Might be the time to email some of media outlets to let them know that Fox is uninterested in their viewers to the extent of blocking out their emails! Pretty sad.

Pretty sad. Fox is setting their virus scan to not accept Dark Angel. That means they consider the series a virus. Hmmmm. Well, I just came home to my email with "Disappointment" in the subject line returned. I've been using that since I started emailing. I guess we'll have to use a different subject every day. I wonder if Fox realizes that we aren't trying to annoy them, we are trying to get their attention with our loyalty to Dark Angel. You would think they'd be flattered. ;D

So you think they are scanning the entire e-mail for Dark Angel?
Time to get creative - maybe use a description of the show in your email. "The sci-fi show about a genetically enhanced girl that you just cancelled" or "D-A-R-K A-n-g-e-l" or some such.
Keep varying the wording - they can't kick out every email they get!
Shows the attitude towards their fans.
Maybe that should be the email topic - why does Fox not care about its viewers to the extent that they are refusing their emails? Hmm I feel an email coming on.

Shows the attitude towards their fans. Kind of rude to block viewer mail, if that's what they're doing. For some silly reason I was thinking that it was the viewers that keep the networks in business - obviously not if that is how they want to treat their viewers. Hmmm...silly me. I like the idea of sending cast members 1 appreciation letter, after all I'm sure they would appreciate our support and compliments. But this can be done on an individual level. There's no logic to bombarding the cast or crew because they have no say in the series being continued or cancelled. The cast may not have a lot of pull with Fox, but I still like the idea of having them on our list - even if it was, for example, a JMA Week instead of trying to get all the mail to her on a specific day. I think it helps, motivationally, to have a day or week set aside and it at least shows the cast that we are a united front, working together. JMO though.

As far as the Dark Angel filters, you people are smart. Be creative and you will defeat it. As far as the cast goes, I do want to write them at least once too. Here's what I could find:
James Cameron Industrial Velvet 919 Santa Monical Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90401
Jessica Alba C/O Brad Cafferelli Bragman, Nyman, Cafferellli 9171 Wilshire Boulevard Beverly Hills, CA 90210
Jessica Alba C/O Chris Henze Somers, Teitelbaum, David 840 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 200 Beverly Hills, CA 90211
Jensen Ackles Fan Club PO Box 850812 Richardson TX 75085-0812
Martin Cummins C/O Characters Talent Agency S. L. Feldman & Assoc.s Suite 200 - 1505 West 2nd Ave. Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 3Y4 Phone: (604) 734-5945 Fax: (604) 732-0922
does anyone have addresses for other characters? I'd love to write Valerie Rae Miller, Kevin Durand, and Michael Weatherly, whom I saw a FOX address for on 1 website. I'd bet on a bottle in the Pacific Ocean before sending cast letters to FOX to be forwarded!

I'm wondering if they are blocking the subject/content Dark Angel or if they are blocking senders email/IP addresses. I know Norton can do the second I'm not sure it can do the first.
Can someone who got rejected email try sending one that has nothing referrring to Dark Angel in it and see if it is still blocked and let us know what happens?

Star, that's a great project for this week.
If your email to Fox or a Fox exec was rejected, please try again.
Try mailing Fox about DA.
Try mailing Fox about anything but DA.
Let us know if your mail is accepted or rejected.
Thanks!

Are we going to set a campaign goal for the month like we did with NBML or just focus week to week on different strategies and not bother with the overall numbers? For me, the monthly goal added motivation to my postcard/letter sending, but just wondering.

Starting next week we are going to be doing "Postcard of the Week" where we all send the same postcard to Fox, Cameron and anyone else you would like to send it to.
There will be weekly postcard goals to try to reach.
[/b]SM[/b] will be announcing which postcard will be sent next week and I'm sure she will post the addresses to send to as a reminder.
Does that help?

Some weeks we may also choose to focus on one person -- as we did with Cameron -- to receive all sorts of mail. Handwritten letters, postcard of the week, emails, you name it. Either way, we'll have a reporting thread and postcard goals so we can track what's happening. I'm looking forward to this -- I think Fox is surprised by how persisten we've been and it will be fun to keep it up! ;D ;D ;D

Yes, it helps. I believe that the coordinated mail is good strategy. Count me in.
