Should we hit the Fox mailboxes really hard over the weekend?I say no, and here's why. The affiliates have been good sports about the blitz, mostly. (A few sent back annoyed replies.) It's like anything else -- if we hit them all the time, after a while they're going to get used to it. Stop paying attention. Either that, or they'll figure out how to block/dump our mail. I'd rather keep them guessing. Lay low for a bit, come back strong. Go to ground again. We have a batch of media addresses. Why not mail them starting Tuesday about our Thursday Jim Cameron Day? And of course we'll notify our friends at Fox HQ.

JIM CAMERON DAY, PART 1Handwritten letters count for a LOT. They're the best kind of viewer mail. So take some time this weekend to hand-write a letter to Jim Cameron. Tell the man how much you love his story, his characters, how bad you want more and more and more of them. Talk about Freak Nation. Share your DA love with the man who made it happen. Target date: Thursday May 30. If you're overseas, get that letter in the mail now. If you're in the eastern half of the US/Canada, try for Sunday, Monday at the latest. In the west, by Tuesday at the latest. Once we've got our snail mail out there, we'll come up with some good emails for Thursday itself.

Jim Cameron Day - good idea! "We have a strategy in place..." That made me laugh.

JC Day is great and I'm taking part. This idea should be in a "read only" spot or web page instead of in a forum as it could be easily missed.
savedarkangel should have mailing addresses for: FOX Execs and NewsCorp, JC, the stars (I'm sure they need some morale support right now), and last DA sponsors, and the latest marching orders in a prominent spot to ensure that everyone who shows up gets them.
I love the work that savedarkangel is doing and this is only a small suggestion, from one of the footsoldiers, Sir!

Good suggestions - you might want to get with Connie who puts up the web pages and let her know - she's the one who gets this up on the savedarkangel.net web page. She's also working on setting up a maling list.

hi DA Fans, I enclose the email I sent a couple days ago to James Cameron but before please read this: As a group organising taking donations to advertise the lobbying of Dark Angel, I would recommend that u go even further because the indication so far is that Fox is not willing to pay, i think the funding should go towards paying for a telemovie, it will also make / encourage us better to carry on as we will have a real yardstick to monitor against, ie how much monies are in the fund, it can also disprove (or prove) the nielsen ratings, since if we get an excellent response and manage to raise the target of 10 Mils US$ and more that will mean there are plenty of DA viewers out there... I just hope JC gets to hear this and gets interested in it, it all hinges on his encouragement... and this is the email i sent to his attention to industrial velvet (the DA company):

Bill: Thanks for letting us know. Right now we are focusing on what we can do to let James Cameron and Fox know we are still out here and want more DA.
So far we've blitzed Fox, its top affiliates, and James Cameron.
What do you think, folks -- what's next?
Would you like regular updates on how much mail we've sent?
Do you have suggestions for another mail event?
Let us know!

we should try to do some kind of blitz every week or every other week- so they know we won't give up. this week (june 3) we should do something free since last week we spent money to snail mail cameron. we could have a phone blitz where we would designate two days to call the fox 800# and our own local affiliate.
other blitzes could be sign petition day (it's slowing down), contact potential fox advertiser day (most advertisers don't have emails, but they do have feedback areas- we could post the link. almanacs list the top advertiser.), snail mail fox la and fox ny- i know they had no say in fox's decision, but i'm sure they would relay information to fox about the mail, and e-mail a magazine or entertainment type program day- maybe get some sort of publicity.

I say we set a day to snail mail some of the cast, particularly Jessica and Michael, and let them know that we haven't forgotten about them. Perhaps every week we focus on one cast member and send them our letters of support.

I say we nail this guy with handwritten letters this week, Chairman and Chief Executive: K. Rupert Murdoch News Corporation 1211 Avenue of Americas, 8th Floor, NY, NY 10036 Phone: 212-852-7000 Web: www.newscorp.comand then Sandy Grushow, Gail Berman, David Nevins each week. The sh*t rolls down hill theory! Plus this will give the FOX mailroom a little time to sort the letters they already have. I think we do need to do this weekly at this time because if we get them to say "Mea culpa!" and put Dark Angel on back on the schedule, it's gonna be sooner than later. When we're writing in Sept and Oct, we're looking towards a mid-season replacement, or there may be a strategy change and exploring other options at that point. And this way we hit both coasts!

I like the idea of selecting a specific recipient to receive mail on a specific day. Doesn't mean we can't continue with a steady stream of postcards additionally, but it would show some consolidated support.

I think one a week (or every other week) is a good idea, too; btwn the cast members and the fox execs, we'll have enough to keep us going for a little while. That way we stay motivated and we stay heard.
I don't think we should wait too terribly long for another JC Day either.

I know that the cost of mailing is an issue for some of us.
Maybe the best approach is to have a day each week or two where we concentrate on email AND snail mail to a designated person. That way we can choose either or both, depending on what works.
So far we have the following nominations for our mail recipient of the week:
>Fox execs and affiliates >Rupert Murdoch >Cast
Votes?
