i dont hate firefly, i've just never been interested in the premise of it to begin with (always disliked westerns - not my culture i guess, and i'm not hyper on sci-fi either), then the cast don't appeal to me physically (dont wanna waste time looking at them every week). i gave it a try though, and it turned out worse than i've imagined, so i don't bother. found this on sci fi.com : www.scifi.com/sfw/advance/02_interview.htmli miss farscape

i miss farscape Me too. But at least there's still the last half of the fourth season to be aired. Unless...you're in an area where they've already aired it... Anyway, word on the street is that Firefly has officially been cancelled. By "the street" I mean from the very pissed off and saddened Firefly fans that I've been running across today. However, I can't seem to find any articles on it anywhere, so for all I know the fanbase might have just snapped. That seems unlikely, though...

Ahh, wait, just found this:
"Tim Minear - Dec 13, 2002 1:28:30 am EST #7606 of 7665 Mark
Hey, guys.
First off, wanted to say out loud to all what a brill ad that was in Variety. We were all impressed and moved. Not only was it dang nice, the doing of the thing, but it was really classy and smart.
Okay. Sigh.
We did get word tonight, Fox won't be ordering any new eps. That translates to "cancelled." We will finish shooting the ep now in production (I'm directing, in fact Joss came down to the set to break the bad news to cast and crew -- we wrapped early, but are back at it in the am), we'll finish post on all eps, and Fox says they're going to somehow air all eps. One expects with giant banner ads over them for Meet My Rich Phoney Sex Date or whatever unreality series they've got up their. Er. Sleeves."

check the firefly thread in off topic sadly i dont get farscape at all on french channels. i totally depend on the net to see it. i heard the uk will air "kansas" on the 30th of december , sci fi US should air it by the 10th of jan. as a lead in for stargate sg1. really both shows deserve another season . wish farscape could so like la femme nikita , get 8 more eps to try to finish the story. *sighs*

This item appeared on the web site for www.thefutoncritic.com it is about time that Fox got the message. fox puts out 'firefly' After 10 weeks of struggling, FOX has finally cut loose its freshman Friday drama "Firefly." Through its December 6 airing the series has averaged just 4.74 million viewers, down a considerable 28% from "Dark Angel's" average there at this point last season (6.56 million viewers). Even worse was the fact the Joss Whedon helmed series ranked well behind FOX's recent Friday failures such as "Freakylinks" (4.99 million) and "The Lone Gunmen" (5.29 million). The series closes its run with its original two-hour pilot this Friday, leaving three episodes unaired.

Well the final numbers are in for the two hour pilot episode of Firefly it attracted or better still bored 4.16 million viewers and weekly ratings/market share was 2.6/5 The final numbers for the nine episodes that the public was subjective to was 4.51 average weekly viewers and the average weekly ratings/market numbers were 2.9/5.2 now compare those numbers to DA in the same time slot on Friday Night which were 6.02 weekly average and average ratings/market share was 3.83/6.86 The weekly loss that Fox incurred was a weekly average of 1.51million viewers and project that over a 21 episode season that is a loss of 31.71 million potential consumers for their advertisers products or services.
