Fox is really trying to sell Firefly in my market, still, but I'm sure the World Series didn't help any. Do we know anything about the schedule for November? I wonder if they're hanging on to the hope that new episodes in November will start to rebuild an audience. Not.

ok, i feel really weird. i went to the FOX website and checked out the FF schedule. <yikes!> it seems they have several new eps lined up into December. so, looks like they are gonna try to keep it going, but i doubt it'll do any good. they even have spoilers listed on that site. that's a perfect way to scare folks off before they waste time watching the show.

I love Mondays. That is because every morning I rush to read the Programming Insider column at mediaweek.com, where he details all of the final ratings for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I love reading that Firefly has been one of the "Losers" for Friday night since the show's inception. I also love reading his weekly insight about this show's impending demise: "Waiting for that axe to swing..." ;D

I'm hoping FF will go down by Thanksgiving. Then I'd REALLY have something to be thankful for.
Oh, and I'm even boycotting "24" for the cause.

If fox are putting up more episodes they probably just don't want to admit how badly they've behaved. ;D

I just finished reading a little anouncement that FF fans are already sending in stuff to FOX to get them to keep the show going (something tells me they are just a little scared ). An ad in a magazine is also in the works. Guess they don't know that FOX doesn't give a damn about fans of shows they run. Honestly, how can FOX keep such a stupid sci-fi show going that did worse in it's first year than DA did in it's second year?? FOX will most likely stay true to character and can the show (which is fine with me ), but they ought to can the idiots who are running things and screwing FOX up year after year.

What are they sending in? Dead bugs? A better question might be why, and how many fans are there - more than a dozen?

Oh sure, that's a really smart move. They work hard to hold onto the handful of fans they're receiving from Firefly, but they throw out a show that brought them a huge fan gathering like it was yesterday's garbage. That's a real smart decision.

Hehehe I love this thread. You all are too funny. I am patiently waiting for 2 things. 1. The day that Fireflop is canceled. 2. The day that Gail gets the pink slip. Fox under her "leadership" sucks big. Even the WB is beating out many shows on Fox with shows like 7th Heaven, Everwood, Smallville, Gilmore Girls and so on. What makes me LMAO about that is that the WB is not even shown everywhere like ABC, NBC, CBS & Fox are. And don't get me started on that travesty of a series Haunted that replaced my dearly beloved/hated Roswell. Also I want to point something out. Unlike the other Fox shows like Fastlane, Fireflop and John Doe were notpreempted for like 3-4 weeks. I was still watching new episodes of John Doe throughout most of October. So that baseball/preemption excuse that Fox is using doesn't even hold true.

Here is lastnights FF ratings according to Zap2It:
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Fast Affiliate Ratings for Friday, Nov. 1, 2002.
NBC shows won every hour of primetime in both household ratings and shares and in the 18 to 49 demographic on Friday night. The Peacock averaged an 8.9 rating/16 share to lead the networks, followed by CBS at 6.2/11 and ABC, 5.3/9. FOX trailed with a 3.3/6.
In the 18 to 49 demographic, NBC earned a 3.8 average for the evening, followed by ABC's 3.1. CBS edged out FOX with a 2.4 to FOX's 2.3.
At 8 p.m., NBC's doomed "Providence" won the hour with a 7.7/14. "48 Hours Investigates" placed second on CBS with a 7.6/14 as a full hour of "America's Funniest Home Videos" finished third on ABC with a 5.9/11. "Firefly" was fourth on FOX with a disappointing 2.8/5.
"Dateline NBC" topped the 9 p.m. hour with an 8.3/14 as CBS' "Hack" landed in second with 6.4/11. ABC gave over the rest of the night to Part 1 of Russell Crowe's "Gladiator" (5.1/10 average from 9 to 11 p.m.), while FOX continued to look into the mystery of "John Doe," 3.8/7.

Thanks, Houston. The question is: will the official ratings be even lower than those??

Looks like Never Say Die Gail is in denial about her ratings. Check out the FF story on zap2it here.

Sounds like part of Vermin's internet campaign (or shoud I say desperate attempt) to try to pull in an audience. With ratings like 2.8....sure. They're doing really really well....

Oh, they are doing even better, have a look at the numbers from thefutoncritic:
friday's fast national ratings (households)
net. 8:00 8:30 9:00 9:30 abc 5.6/10 6.2/11 5.1/9 4.6/8 cbs 7.3/13 7.8/14 6.3/11 6.4/11 nbc 7.3/13 8.0/14 7.7/13 8.8/15 fox 2.9/5 2.6/5 3.7/7 3.9/7
From 8:00 to 8:30 all networks gain audience: abc +.6 / nbc +.5 / cbs +.7 Well, not all networks, at Fox, we can see Whedon's genius (and his Karma) at work: fox -.3
friday's fast national ratings (18-49 demographic)
net. 8:00 8:30 9:00 9:30 abc 3.0 3.7 2.8 2.7 cbs 2.4 2.6 2.4 2.6 nbc 2.6 3.0 3.3 3.6 fox 2.1 1.9 2.6 2.6
The first Firewhy? episode won its timeslot in the 18-49 demographic, now it's trailing...
If you look at John Doe's ratings, it's obvious that Fox could have a winner - if they cancel F*ckfly as soon as possible and give John Doe a decent lead-in. The longer they continue to show Friedfly, the higher the risk to lose John Doe, too.
What a way to start the Nov sweeps...
Talking 'bout Nov sweeps, there is this number: 4.5/8
And this number should cause Gail some nightmares, because it's from DARK ANGEL, Season Two, Episode #5: "Boo", First Aired 11/2/2001.
