You might want to wait on buying that DVD, apparently the version that came out today doesn't have many extras , but another version of the DVD will be out in early 06 with a bunch of extras . Here is a quote from the director about the DVD's "IGN: Knowing that there will eventually be multiple versions of a film released on DVD, how do you make sure that your audience is satisfied with each of those iterations? Rodriguez: Well, usually I just put out one. With this one, they are already putting out one that comes out [August 16] that is just bare bones. I had not put anything extra on that, because I didn't have time to finish my DVD extras. They will put that out four months later because of piracy and stuff like that, and they actually don't put anything on there so that they know, 'well, this isn't the real DVD.' Recently tried to watch the Village, King Aurthur, Two Brothers and the Jacket. Wasn't able to get through any of them . I didn't even last 10 minutes in the Village and King Aurthur. On a positive note , I'd like to recommend Barcelona. This movie is from the same writer/director that made MW's Last Days of Disco. The film is similar to Disco, with it's story of twenty somethings looking for love plot but Barcelona is much better IMO. The characters are more interesting and it has some great dialog not to mention the beautiful Barcelona locations .

My opinion ( which is meaningless, even to me) on these movies The Village - huge disappointment, but the lead actress, Bryce Dallas Howard, was very good. M. Night Shyamalan is forgiven because he did make "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs", both movies were scary and fun for me. King Arthur - Clive Owen - Ioan Gruffudd ...Hugh Dancy - Stellan Skarsgård, four wonderful actors were in this movie and it flopped. Big mistake to let Keira Knightly run around in this movie. She helped ruin it. It needed Joaquin Phoenix ** and Vince Vaughn. Too many pretty boys ruined it. Geez, why didn't they throw Orlando Bloom in it, also. The Jacket - I hated this movie. Adrien Brody is homely and I don't think he is a great actor. Oscar, schmoscar, I want my money back. Keira Knightley is beautiful but that's not enough. I've never seen her in anything since " Bend It Like Beckham" that I didn't forget two minutes after I left the theater. This movie had some great music and there should be a sound track. Two Brothers - I think many people went to this expecting to see a Disney-feel-good movie about two young tigers. I loved all the animal parts of this movie but the rest of it lacked. It didn't get the story across, of humans trying to do the right thing for the animals but failing because they were human. Well, that's my take on it.I feel an affinity with the tigers in this movie. In fact, my claws keep getting stuck in the keyboard as I type. ****** edited to leave a note for ML Fan. **ML Fan, do not tell me that Joaquin already did his early Roman movie. I know that. ;D ;D I'm using his name as an example of a non-pretty boy actor who can act, and who isn't homely as my cat's litter box, like Adrien Brody.

After watching the director's cut of "King Arthur" I also wondered why Orlando Bloom wasn't in the film and this film was forgettable. "King Arthur" to me lacked a good story like "Gladiator" had. I think that we both agree Aerie that Joaquin Phoenix can act and show some range in the roles that he has chosen, "Gladiator" and "To Die For" are the two movies that I liked him in the best. I'm also waiting on buying "Sin City" on DVD after hearing that there weren't any extras on the DVD, it made it seem like "Sin City" was rushed to DVD more than anything else.

What turned me off the Village was the dialog. It was so arch, and controlled . I know that was on purpose, to show what a regimented society they were living in , but geeze I only have 50 or 60 more years on this planet I'm not going to waste 2 hours listening to that crap . It's a shame cause I've liked M. Night's other films( leaving out his last name cause i can't spell it ). King Arthur I barely made it past the opening credits , WTF does the Arthurian legend have to do with the Romans? Nothing that's what . It takes absolute morons to come up with an idea like that . Two Brothers I tried cause I've always liked Guy Pearce but the tigers were too cutesy for me and the human characters were worse . The Jacket was just slow, and they didn't do a good job establishing the Dr.'s at the hospital as bad guys, they were just instantly evil They needed to show more of him arriving at the hospital and being introduced to that world. It's like they were missing a chapter of a book .

I looked on Barnes and Noble.com and Amazon.com for the sountrack to "The Jacket", Aerie, but, I couldn't find it. Barnes and Noble book stores have a good selection for soundtracks, so, I'll bet that you can find it there and listen to it.

I rented and enjoyed "Kung Fu Hustle" because this film was original to me, even though there have been several movies in the last few years that share some similarities. "Be Cool" was an okay movie, however, I really enjoyed The Rock's performance, it was a very different role for him and it gave him the chance to show some range outside of his usual tough guy roles.

Season 3 of Charmed is now out on DVD . Interesting little tibbit: In Seasons 2 and 3 of Charmed the character and storyline that Michael played is mentioned in an episode of each.

Last week I got the DVD box set for Undeclared Ahahahahaahahahahahaha too funny ;D. This is the only regular TV series besides Dark Angel, that I've ever bought on DVD. It's about a bunch of freshman in college, it's smart and funny and of course it was killed by those evil bastards at FOX . imdb.com/title/tt0273028/
