As a result of recent airplane captivity, I saw THREE movies made in this century: The Adjustment Bureau, The Black Swan & The King's Speech. Would have preferred a reduced ticket price over the "free" movies but had been curious about all three, so glad to have had a chance to see them. Of the three, I liked the King's Speech best -- really liked the 3 main characters and was pleasantly surprised that, for the first time in forever, I wasn't disappointed when seeing a movie that has been hyped as being great. (also enough of a history geek and familiar enough with the story of the King's taking the throne, the royals during the Blitz, etc, that it was interesting to see them portrayed as they were, etc.) Adjustment Bureau was fine (mild thriller with a sci fi twist and a sprinkling of chick flick) and Black Swan wasn't what I expected (though given what I expected was from Dr. Shy's prattling about his buddies prattling about *the* scene the guys all like, you can imagine ... )

Watching Kill Bill, had never noticed the The Searches homage after Uma kills Daryl Hannah. Pretty cool

Saw the final Harry Potter. I liked it but didn't love it. It really plays like a action movie and the action sequences were never this series strong point IMO. But still it was nice to see a conclusion.
Hoping to see Horrible Bosses this week.

But still it was nice to see a conclusion. I saw the first part on the plane and that didn't leave me with any desire to see the second. If there was ever a movie not made for plane screens it's this one - all black and grey - and the dialogue wasn't exactly captivating either. I did love though how they told the Deathly Hallow tale.

Just watched Harper on TCM. Wow not only young Robert Wagner looking just like Weatherly but the character was just like DiNozzo , well for most of the movie

Haven't seen the movie, but this quote from a review made me laugh ;D
"GREEN LANTERN'S suit makes him seem as if he's tightly wrapped in lettuce leaves. He looks pretty enough to eat, which is probably not the effect he's after."

I've read a few of the Jack Reacher books and they are ok. He's a big tough guy. A description of Reacher on a fan site. Name: Jack Reacher (no middle name) Born: October 29th Measurements: 6' 5", 220-250 lbs., 50" chest Hair: Dirty-blond Eyes: Ice blueReacher left home at 18, graduated from West Point. Performed 13 years of Army service, demoted from Major to Captain in 1990, mustered out with the rank of Major in 1997.The author, Lee Child is a good writer but I already have my favorites and my heart is full and so is my library. John Sanford's - - Lucas DavenportRobert J. Parker's - - Spenser Rex Stout's - - Nero Wolfe & Archie Goodwin.Don't get me started on Mark Harmon playing Lucas Davenport in a TV movie coming up this fall. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
