I just watched Serenity, I generally don't dig the Sci-Fi genre beyond the stuff that penetrates pop-culture, but this was actually quite good. Really well written I loved the hole future-where-everyone-speaks-John-Wayne-english vibe. Nathon Fillian is quite good as well.

EMPIRE magazine had the trailer for the Watchmen up on there site but it appears they recieved a spanking and took it down. All i can say is WOW it looks freaking crazy, its going to be attached to all or most prints of the Dark Knight so you can see it starting tonight at midnight.

When is Watchmen opening? I hope they did a good job with that movie. Back to Batman. I don't know the name of the Batman movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson but I liked that one. Michael Keaton looked really good with the mask; he has a great jawline. I thought Jack was an excellent Joker. Maybe I was too young to get it but I remember everybody saying, "Sure Jack was great but he was just being Jack." I liked the Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito one also. In fact, I guess I liked all the Batman movies. The new Batman, Christian Bale, has a completely different story to tell. Dark, not as friendly and not fun. But it's not supposed to be fun. I hope it gets great Box Office.

As far as the great Batman debate I was never a fan of Keaton as Batman, tbh I've never been able to take Keaton seriously in any serious roles. He just always comes off as goofy to me which is cool in comedies but kinda sucky when its supposed to be a comic book movie. I really really like this darker tone that Nolan's going for.

I didn't know it was the 300 guy. I wasn't a big enough fan to see it more than once. The Watchmen trailer is intriguing enough, I just watched it a buncha times. To me Batman is a cartoon which is why I liked Michael Keaton. not to forget that manly jaw. Now that we've moved cartoons over to the 'graphic novel look' they will never be the same. No producer or director will dare go back to the roots. I just remembered - I didn't laugh one time in Batman Begins. I don't know if I even smiled. Robin, "Holy mackerel, Batman, where's the fun." Now I've got to rent all the Batman movies: Keaton # 1 Keaton # 2 Kilmer # 3 Clooney # 4 Is that it?

I have heard this criticism from a few people and it is a valid point but there are many more 'fun' comic book adaptations than there have been of these serious drama like adaptations. our Very own JMA starred in the very light and fun F4 and it's sequel. I would put Iron Man in the same category and that got big box office and will be getting sequels to that for years to come I am guessing. And if you have never seen The Rocketeer www.imdb.com/title/tt0102803/ then rent it immediately, pop some popcorn and enjoy.

Saw The Dark Knight and loved it. Probably not as much as Mr Clark but I definitely loved it. Can't wait to see it without some lady sitting behind me saying "Oh, Jesus" out loud every 30 seconds. On the other hand it's nice to see that the mentally/socially challenged get out of the house every now and then. Anyways on to the movie. Aerie's friends were wrong, Ledger is deserving of an Academy Award and any other award they can think of. This performance is equal to Anthony Hopkins/Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecktor for the best villain ever. All the returning actors are good and there are a couple great moments with Micheal Caine that are actually funny so anyone worried about it being too serious should be happy with those scenes. negatives? well nothing personal against gyllenhal but I hated every second she was on screen. I liked Holmes in the role and replacing her hurt the continuity IMO. Also got kind of a "I'm an indie actor slumming doing a comic book movie" vibe from Gyllenhal Aaron Eckhart was good as Dent. but his character does bring me to my main reservation with the film. Hmmm not sure how to say this without spoilers but in the 3rd act his character becomes more the focus of the film and these scenes just aren't as compelling for me as what came before it. I think I would have preferred this part of the film to have been left for a 3rd film and that they had kept this one just on The Joker vs Batman. I will say I still think Batman Begins is my favorite but I am probably in the minority on that one. Anyways am really looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight again. and again and again and again

(and all this time I thought it was the murder of his parents! ) ~ ;D~
