Encase no ones noticed, I am and have been for a number of years a huge Fight Club fan, that movie changed my life. Now comes the next book by the author of Fight Club, Chuck Palanhiuk, to be made into a feature. I've been waiting for this to get a major release since i first heard about it getting rave reviews at Sundance. Sam Rockwell is one of my favorite underrated actors in Hollywood and this looks like its going to have the same near pitch black comedy as fight club. Trailer in Glorious Quicktimes

Oh Mr.Clark - you are such a guy. That movie changed my life too. When it was over I looked at the guy I was with and as I said, "Oh god, that was awful," he was looking at me and said, "That was the most fantastic film." That was it for us.I didn't understand the ending. I hate it when I don't have a clue. And you have forgotten all the rules. YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

Fight Club is a film and a book written and geared almost completely to the male gender. Theres a hundred million films geared towards women and I've never met a guy that would end a relationship because a chick liked chick flicks. For me a lot of the underlying philosophies in Fight Club had a huge effect on me, I found that hole existential/nihilistic thing completely fascinating. It sort of speaks to recent generations of men, guys who've grown up in a completely different world from past generations. come on dzero back me up on this one!

OK I'll back you up. Fight club is indeed a great film. Love everything about it. I've seen it at least ten times. Also great commentary track on the DVD. although Norton comes off as a d-bag in the commentary ;DHowever nothing about Aerie's reaction surprises me. She has dumped guys for less. Oh come on, that would be like a guy dumping you because you love the Notebook. I can guarantee you she would dump a guy who liked the Notebook. ;D

saw the hulk yesterday much better than the 2003 hulk
there also were several referances to the hulk tv show, a scene where a tv was on, and it was showing an eppy of "the courtship of eddies father" with a closeup of bill bixby and later lou ferrigno played a security guard
overall well worth seeing this one

I've seen the Hulk as well. Good solid action movie. A lot of my favorite actors in this one. Edward Norton and William Hurt are two of my all time favorites and love Tim Roth as well. Only thing that could have made it better would be Jennifer Connely from the 2003 Hulk in this instead of Liv Tyler who I've always been meh about . Anyways the action scenes are good, I think better action than Iron Man but the character of Bruce Banner isn't really developed that well IMO so I would say overall Iron Man is the better movie but it's pretty close between the two.

Ok, yet again color me stupid. I was under the impression that loving the Notebook was encoded somewhere in the XX chromosomes. The Notebook - book = The Notebook - movie = [this is mostly for casting as I never liked James Garner since my mom used to watch Rockford Files and I wasn't real thrilled with the ones that played the wife older or his character younger] I also have a big bias against books being made into movies; I've seen too many be murdered in the process. I almost don't want to see them; I've already cast them and imagined them as I was reading (why I haven't seen Bridge to Terabithia yet) and I don't like when the movie seems to have been written by someone that either didn't read the book or only read the Cliff Notes version. Too many expectations I guess.

Too many expectations I guess. Agreed. I don't think I've ever liked a movie if I have read the book first. The example that always comes to mind is To Kill a Mockingbird. Loooove the book but I just want to every time it makes one of those 'best movies of all time' lists. Maybe they'll do a remake of the movie someday and actually cast an actress who can a-c-t as Scout. Oh yeah and actually remember that the book is about Scout and not her damn father . P.S. In the grand tradition of being off topic and disclosing too much information I did last night but it had nothing to do with To Kill a Mockingbird.
