I agree. It will happen. There will be a movie or mini-series eventually. The only question is when. We all just have to keep from getting discouraged. We all just have to keep writing those letters! It's like MLfan said - this is a multi-front campaign.

hi, this isn't to an affiliate, but it's always good to post your letters. i sent this e-mail off to berman. figured why not? Subject Line: every story has an ending, so why doesn't ours? Dark Angel deserved a third season. I understand that there was a drop in ratings and, in part, it was due to a mid-season "creature feature" pattern that almost lost me as well. however, Dark Angel complely turned around at the end. In the last two months it was on, it truly was great tv. Had the show recieved adiquite publicity, it would have had much better ratinhgs than it did. Freak Nation was truely great tv. It was very obviously a last ditch effort to draw fans back into the fold and creat a better fan base for next year. it accomplished that. It accomplished that extemly well. It now seems that all the renewal efforts center on a frustration at not knowing what happens. It was no series fanalie and eveyone knows that. Firefly got Dark Angel's funding and it's gone. This means that the money is there to continue Dark Angel in some form if FOX is willing. Unfortuantly, it seems like FOX would rather spend money on pointless, immoral reality shows than fund a show who's setting seems to be a suprising look at our own future. Perhapse we won't be over-run by geneticaly engineered soldiers, but potential consiquences to the current American policies are displayed quite nicely in Dark Angel's setting. Perhapse, politicaly, a third-world America irrevocably damaged in the wake of a terrorist attack and run as a giant corrupt police state is the wrong thing to have on tv at this time? I am a loyal viewer of your network. Frankly, Fox may have played as much a part in raising me as my parents. I hope to work in some form of tv production after college. For me, Fox's treatment of Dark Angle was practly a personal betrayel. I'm telling you now that I Know, as surly as I knew that a space western would never ever sell, that Dark Angel should continue in some form. The market is out there and money can be made. It's nearly a year later, and people gather daily on chat boards to discuss what to do next and no one is giving up. I hope that you will either give up the rights to this how or use them for some purpose. Thank you for your time, kari Thomas %*%^!!!!!!!!!!!! i forgot to hit spell check again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eh, loyal viewer is an exageration now. they cancelled lots that i like and all my old favorites were sold off and live on other networks. it sounds good though.
i wrote a better one to scifi.
mlfan,
good letter. i forgot to post what i thought. you definatly edited like i did and some words got cut out. gotta watch that. also, combine some sentances because it seems more formal. it's always good to vary sentance structure and, don't forget to mention that bringing da back would make them money.

I haven't been involved in this discussion up to this point but what we have to remember is that Fox is very dependent on two main sources of income, the 1st being the independent affiliates, the 2nd being their advertisers both on their network directly and more importantly the advertising that the affiliates sell directly in their home markets. If we continue to hammer away at the affiliates I am quite sure that Fox HQ will hear about the alienation of the viewers big time, and the more they hear, the greater the pressure they will feel, they can not IGNORE US for ever. mjwillia has been instrumental in contacting the advertisers with excellent results, and this is another area for keeping the pressure on Fox. As I was recently mentioning to MLfan Jessica's L'oreal commercial is being shown again in the Toronto markets over the past couple of weeks, the ad has appeared on at least 3 different channels so they are not targeting any particular series or show. So it is evident that L'oreal likes the image that Jessica gives to their product line, and this fact can be utilized as well. Obviously Jessica's multi-ethnic lineage and from what I have read and heard about her wholesome down to earth personality and image can also be utilized. I definitely think that it is important that we use the written word as the means of protest rather than postcards or barcodes which no doubt are tossed in the garbage as fast as they arrive, it is my opinion that whatever letters they receive that someone in the organization will read it and if it hits a chord, it could be passed along to someone of importance. Lets also remember the response that Moyaselene's father got when he called Fox HQ "not another one" so obvious the pressure is being felt. As to JC we have to keep him in the loop but with him it is my opinion that you have to stroke his ego, remember what the comments that he made when he won the Oscar for Titanic, "I AM KING OF THE WORLD" and some information I have heard from some private sources he truly believes that statement. So that's my two cents worth.

Thanks all of you for posting your letters and your very stimulating thoughts. I've made 30 copies of each of the appropriate pages and my little DA group will use your ideas to write letters and postcards this weekend. I have a promise of 23 people and some will bring friends. Some will bring their computers and printers because we will be printing DA pics and slogans on postcards. Some will be using SuperBlondes shipper stationery. Our objective is 1000 letters and postcards combined and most of the letters will be handwritten and signed by other friends and family members. Most of our letters will be short and to the point. We will target Jim Cameron and Chic Eglee with a few of the best. Many will sleep over Saturday night because it will be hard to get them back again on Sunday. I may have to barricade the doors and windows to keep them here. The secret will be to have enough food. My friends are all big eaters and they will go to any party for the food. No booze until Sunday evening when the work is completed. ;D My personal favorite postcard is: A bright pic of Eyes Only - - Dark Angel fans don't care how they get it but they want a conclusion ........ They won't give up and they won't give in ........ The postcards are just going to keep coming until they're satisfied ........ This has been a Streaming Freedom Video. Peace. Out ;D It's not as appropiate as it once was, but it was my favorite.

It might be hard and tricky since FOX hadn't brought back any cancelled shows that are good. Examples,
Space above and Beyond The Visitor The Lone Gunmen Get Real
I'm not saying it's a fruitless effort but it will be tough to get the affiliates to listen to us.

I never saw Get Real, but the other three were good shows. Specially Space Above and Beyond, IMO.
We know enough about Jim Cameron to know he wants to complete his story. It's possible to get a TV movie or maybe a mini-series, best bet is a theater movie.
The important thing with the affiliates is - they will make sure Fox Broadcasting knows there are a lot of fans that want more Dark Angel.
We are strong in the struggle.

Examples, Space above and Beyond The Visitor The Lone Gunmen Get Real I'm not saying it's a fruitless effort but it will be tough to get the affiliates to listen to us. After reading James Cameron's Cinescape interview I think that he is very angry about what happened to Dark Angel just like we are. As Star24 mentioned before in another post, James Cameron has both the money and resources to give Dark Angel a proper conclusion. I think that that continuing to write to him and if possible, targeting him and Charles Eglee with an ad in major entertainment newspaper like the Hollywood Reporter will hopefully show him that even after nearly a year that there are still Dark Angel fans out there that would welcome a continuation and proper conclusion to DA. I think that while Fox owns the rights to Dark Angel and that Fox will be involved somewhat in the continuation to DA that James Cameron will probably be more open to making a DA movie, where he has creative control rather than working with a major television network again, jmo. Fox's affliates have probably lost money along with viewers and so, I think that are good to target. I also think that they have been more responsive than Fox has been, because, some DAR members have received responses to their letters. I also think that they will be able more willing to help in getting DA a proper conclusion than Fox will. Fox has ignored DA fans before and after DA's cancellation, so I think that they will be less helpful and less willing to listen than James Cameron and the affliates. Just my thoughts.

which bites.

i think the lone gunmen, on the other hand, was only supposed to be a mini-series and they're dead now so........... which bites. When did they die? I loved that show! It must have been on the X Files unfortunately the stupid tv people over here put the last season on in the middle of the night and never really advertised when it was on.

Examples, Space above and Beyond The Visitor The Lone Gunmen Get Real I'm not saying it's a fruitless effort but it will be tough to get the affiliates to listen to us. I also think that there was no conflict of interest by Gail Berman from the shows listed above like there was with Dark Angel. I think that part of the reason that Gail didn't like Dark Angel was because, Dark Angel had already been airing before she became one of the heads at Fox and she couldn't be the executive producer of Dark Angel. Gail Berman also had something to gain when Dark Angel was cancelled and Firefly replaced it and she became the executive producer of Firefly. Firefly's creator Joss Whedon hated Dark Angel because, he felt that viewers would mistake Dark Angel for his show Angel when it was on Tuesday nights. Gail and Joss are also friends. Just my my thoughts.

A point to include in the mail to them is that, now that dvd's are out. even more people would like to see season 3 and more viewers to grab.
i live in norway and have bought the dvd's after hearing from a friend that he loved the show and that i should watch it.
The re-sell value of the show is also MUCH higher if the show isn't a crippled half-done show..!
I LOVE the work you guys are doing here, keep up the good work!
