The Proposed Hollywood Reporter Print Ad 9/3/02I had contacted HR about the release of the print ad during the week of September 20 and I received a response from them this morning: "September 20th is great. Why don't I reserve the space now so that I can give you the best possible placement. This special issue is exceptionally well received because it is out DAY OF EMMYS special edition, so this issue not only gets distributed to all of our readership nationally (New York, LA...Chicago, Miami) this special edition goes inside all of the limos to the Emmys, so your ad will be seen by every major network, studio head, agent and manager in the entertainment industry." ;D

I decided to not fade out the bottom picture so that I could make the text white instead of gray. I don't know, but I prefer the white text. BUT, if you guys prefer that the bottom picture get faded out, then I can do that and see if I can make the gray text a little more appealing. Let me know what you think.

great job Scrib!
I can translate the Filipino and Spanish versions of this ad.
just some comments: a little consistency with the verb usage should be seen. using the past participle in a sentence would mean using it with every other verb in that sentence.
maybe you can also say "more of the DARK ANGEL world" instead of "THAT world" it leaves no doubt to the ones reading the ad (or maybe i'm just in my editor mode).
after saying "if there is..." there should nto be a period, but a comma (,) when the next line says, "we support his efforts"
all in all, i think it's great and would b willing to translate it if you need people to do that.

hallenwen: Those are actually commas. The font makes them appear as periods. I only need "Thank You" phrases to be translated. I don't think we have an allowance that big to accommodate several Thank You ads translated to different languages, LOL. I have decided to use the second proto-ad. I will be accommodating the rest of the translated Thank You phrases at this moment. I will also make the text a bit more tighter and make the suggested revisions. Thanks for your help! One more thing... Visually, I am done with the ad No more graphic elements, except for the words/text will be added. So, I am foreseeing the completion of this ad by early afternoon. I will see you guys in an hour, or probably less.

Well, that actually took less time than I had thought. This could be the final look of the ad. Tell me what you think; any necessary changes to be made on the text? Are the visual elements in good balance? hallenwen: I do not think there is a need to specifically say "Dark Angel" since it is pretty obvious to what is being referred and its omittance is for the sake of conciseness and space. *Edited to remove proto-ads to conserve bandwidth and speed up uploading of page.*

Thanks scirta. I am going to wait for more feedback. In the meantime, I am going to e-mail the Hollywood Reporter as to how to the ad will be transmitted to their offices, if there are specifics in file format if the ad could be sent via digitally, etc. I will let you know what I find out.

Check out the ad specs. I need all of your input on the ad release.
Most ads I have seen are untrimmed full bleeds. That means that I would need to make sure the ad content, especially the text are 1/4 inch from the ends of the spread.
I do not have a laser printer. I might have to wait until next week to check out places where I can laser print the ad.
