I thought I would resurect this thread. I really enjoyed it and I need some new reading material!
I read One Hundred Shades of White by Preethi Nair the other day. It was really light and quite anjoyable. It is about an Indian mother and her two children moving to England and the way food has "mystical powers". The book changes POV every chapter and there is constant switching between time frames which can be hard to handle.
I chose this book to give me a break from sci-fi and it was definatly a good choice.

Good idea Cate. I’m reading Crescent City Rhapsody by Kathleen Ann Goonan. A novel about what happens when a powerful electromagnetic pulse triggers a communications blackout, and electronics and computers fail all over the planet. The military is building a new and repressive world order to suppress all science not under their control. The story begins in 2012 and continues through 2039, following the lives of a lot of characters, in different parts of the world. A main character is murdered in the first chapter and brought back to life with nanotechnology. www.goonan.com/I found the book browsing at Barnes and Noble and I think you can all guess why I got suckered into it. I think I'll check the library for Cate's book next.

We don't have to worry about what to read next. I just heard that the noted pundit, Paris Hilton, has written a book about her long and interesting life. I'm all a-twitter.

Yes, but where would you put your internal organs?? There's no way all of the necessary ones can fit in a size 2.

Well if you were a size 2, you probably wouldn't eat, so we can take out any of the digestive system organs...

You must be psychic, they were talking about this on the radio the other day and read an excerpt where she mentioned not being able to get cute shoes in her size ;D apparently whenever Paris sees shoes she likes they bring em out in her size 11 and then the shoes look like clown shoes ;D Awww poor little Paris

This weeks Quote Of The Week in the Tab Fab on eonline (August 27th 2004) was from Paris...
"Nicky and I are different in this crucial way: She's better at shopping than I am." --Paris Hilton in People, part of a revealing (Zzzz!) excerpt from her new book, Confessions of an Heiress. Need a few more snore McNuggets? Turns out daughter might have gotten the video bug from her pops: "Dad videotaped everything the kids did." The verdict: "My parents have been together forever, and I'd like to follow their good example--I mean, look how I turned out!" Maybe they should have gotten divorced
