And when I get up this morning I look out -- viola! Snow, yes,,, Your snow comes with a dramatic viola effect? Nice. It's my pronunciation, isn't it? Damn! And only four months to learn that language too, as well as I learned German last year!!! ;D Good grief, don't; they would believe you!! and what with all the clinics and such places closing because of the monumental snow, there would be no one to rescue and treat all the goofs who go up on their roofs, fall off and are NOT cushioned by the huge 1/2 inch drifts below... (the paper said that 2"-6" has been reported here, but I guarantee that's because someone went out and stuck a ruler in a pile of leaves and thought that was what was meant... : I don't suppose my mild disbelief and slight disdain with the loca reaction is coming through, is it? Good point. And that's even with the hills you have, right? It's so flat here, any bit of slickness would just prevent the rider from working up much speed... ;D and while I'm at it: Deep South Snow...

(Four months? Seemed a lot farther on the other side of Christmas) I don't suppose my mild disbelief and slight disdain with the loca reaction is coming through, is it? Don't blame the poor locals, who are they to argue when even CNN itself calls it 'freak snow'. ;D ;D Besides that blog sounds like major entertainment. ;D This is about what it looked like during the last weeks, sometimes more, sometimes less... And this is what I'd consider a wintery amount of snow: (See that pole? They put them along the roads in winter so one doesn't lose track of the street... which I managed to do close to that place a few years ago... )

Oh, boy, am I in trouble! My trusty on-line translator said you just told me to "fly off!" (I'm not sure I know what to make of that!) ;D Gorgeous photos! I wonder if TPTB in DC know about those poles ... given the past week or so they might consider adding them around the metro area!

Oh, boy, am I in trouble! My trusty on-line translator said you just told me to "fly off!" (I'm not sure I know what to make of that!) ;D Ha, see! I'm the language challenged one, with my lame attempt to translate a certain person's language genius. (Still, would dare to challenge your trusty dictionary and say it's 'take off' or, what I was going for, a high performance (of genius). ;D Anyway, a winged word. ;D) Gorgeous photos! I wonder if TPTB in DC know about those poles ... given the past week or so they might consider adding them around the metro area! Ah yes, boosting our ailing export numbers with a delivery of German quality products. Genius plan.

Spectacular! Just back from a local downtown street fair (one of 2 held annually in town) and it was absolutely perfect: 72 degrees, no humidity, sunny, teeny light breeze, all the trees in bloom ... Add the beer wagons, street food ( Straßenessen!! ;D) , local pubs & restaurants open through the day and the amazing funk band from New Orleans on the bandstannd as we arrived .... Ah, yes. PERFECT weather!

Oops that should be gloves! So lets see .... in the Southern Hemisphere water rotates the opposite way down the drain and they don't have any way to heat their homes. Is that it? or are there any other differences? ;D

Ha ha ha. That's right, we normally don't NEED heating in Sunny Melbourne. It's the first 'real' Winter that we've had in years and I've forgotten how to cope with it. We've had lots of rain and it's been around 12C / 53F during the day which is just too cold for me. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

5:00 PM 110 degrees outside not joking You people really are insane for living where you do. I'm honestly not sure I could survive living year round in a place that regularly went over 95 3/4's of the year. Granted in all likely hood I'll have to try and stick out someplace like that in a few years but I'm honestly not sure I can.

Tornado watch and flood warning – but surprisingly warm and humid. I looked outside and decided that with this crazy downpour and the winds it must be coolish. Nope, actually my glasses fogged up when I stepped out of the bus. (Sure complimented the drowned rat look ;D)
