The following message was posted on FF.net yesterday. January 14th, 2007 -- Email alerts are now fully functional. There was a hiccup where some alerts over the past 2 weeks were backlogged. Our asia.fanfiction.net mirror is currently not performing up to our expectations. We will be setting up a new asia mirror in Singapore within the next 7 days. Please note our asia mirror is designed for users from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and other countries near or in the south-east asia region. Users from Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea have excellent internet connection to the west and should use our primary www.fanfiction.net address.

No alerts and can't submit a review. No idea when this happened, last email I got from them was around 7.5 hours ago. And no log-in functions realized that when my computer restarted and my stats page did not.

Given all of fanfiction.net's recent updates, it has always surprised me that they haven't changed NAVY NCIS to simply NCIS since it has been called simply NCIS for some time now. I also know that not every fandom on FF.net has the ability to choose only the character(s) they are interested in ship or non-ship, we are lucky to have that option with DA and NCIS.

A friend usually downloads new fan fic for me but he's in the hospital so I have been checking out ff.net daily. I don't understand it. For example: the writer, Maggs, has a fic, Something So Small, and the same chapter is uploaded on three or four different days. This has been going on for weeks. I don't get it. And there are other things like the Search option. I enter the name under Author by Pen Name. 'Click' - nothing is found. I enter the name of the fic and it pops up with the Pen Name. What's that all about. (I forgot the example or I'd tell you.) That's my story and I'm sticking with it. I'll be back with more complaints because I hold all you authors responsible.

When a writer edits a chapter of their fic on FF.net any changes that are made won't show up for 24 hours or so and the fic stays in the top 25 updated fics and isn't removed from the list unfortunately for the writer and the readers.

Do we have a general fanfic thread hiding somewhere? (if we do I'm sorry I'm too lazy to look any further) But this kinda applies...Because well FNN's chronic illness with major flare ups does scare me. Did anyone else get that weird targeted to your email and pen-name email from a place called FanLib? I say weird because if I can't cut and paste an email, I'm not dealing with it. Ummm I was a loser and checked it out. You can put up pictures next to your story. Yea seriously, it's sad, but it entertained me. They also have the star system which I REALLY want FFN to adopt as I have repeatedly said. This site might just be a decent alternative to FFN for those extended illnesses and yes I am just saying that because of the star system and yea yea I know others have it, but I mean pictures. FFN is still cooler though, but I've got to admit this site is kinda interesting. In case you're like me and can't handle knowing there's something new out there and you haven't seen it.
