FFN is broken and I have this nagging feeling it's on it's way to the end. My impression, too. Nooooooo Geez, I hope you guys aren't psychic! I haven't been able to log on for a few hours, but have been able to cruise around & read otherwise. Maybe maybe maybe that means they have part of the system off-line for fixing purposes...? They've seemed to do that in the past; disabling the log-on bit so that they can work on some problem. Dunno if they read suggestions in the tickets we send, but (hope, as always, springing eternal) on this last ticket I suggested that they do as they used to do, post updates as to problems as they are ongoing and what they're trying to do to fix them, and post when a problem has been solved so we know what was going on & that it's been addressed. I have suspected that, in recent months, there is a new group running the show-- the only things I base it on is the new ad system they have-- the divert-to-ad screen they have, for example -- and the recent silence regarding problems and their fixes. It seems to be quite a change in practice for them. All I know is, I'm addicted and I want them back!

I don't understand why they stopped telling us when there are problems (remember how they used to tell us, 'You will be unable to log in from _____ to _____ as we attempt to resolve issues with our servers' or some bs like that). I mean these new people must be seriously attention deprived or something if they enjoy us all emailing them or maybe they're just on a power trip. Oh and yea we have Log-In back, so we can review, but.... NOOOO UPLOADING!!!! And that was my temper tantrum for the day.

Yeah, that was part of my last ticket to them (as if they read them! ) Hadn't tried uploading yet but that was next... you mean I should give up & go back to doing work-work and stop playing around at fic? Bummer...

I have faith if you keep writing Shy, it'll be working by the time you're done.

The following message was posted on FF.net today. November 25th, 2006 -- We suffered multiple hard-drive failures which caused down-time to both email services (alerts, PMs) and the login area the past few days. These problems have been resolved and the backlog of email alerts is slowly being pushed out to everyone's inbox.

Seems like they listened to your complaints, Shy ;D I just got an alert for an eight-day-old post on BBWW. Maybe by tomorrow morning my inbox will be filled with all the old post from the last week. Of course I’d prefer new mail, but as long FFnet shows signs of working again… I have faith if you keep writing Shy, it'll be working by the time you're done. I’m with Mia ;D ;D

I haven't. Seems like FFNet is breaking down again. Really really frustrating, isn't it?

The following message was posted on FF.net today. January 4th, 2007 -- asia.fanfiction.net has been relocated to a more robust facility in Hong Kong. Due to the Decemember Taiwan quake and subsequent undersea fiber communication cable break, most countries in the pacific rim were severely affected and continues to have limited internet access to the west. The new asia mirror should drastically improve performance for users from China. Please send us your feedbacks to support@fanfiction.com.

OMG!!...I just got a month-old review alert from FFN!! (could this mean...?) Edited after calming down & reading again: the review was a new one, posted yesterday on the board-- so the old ones haven't made it through the log-jam yet... but an honest to goodness review! What do you know...
