OK here is the story, back in January I had to call AAA to have them send a tow truck to my place . blah blah blah everything got taken care of and I paid for it with a credit card ( which I hardly ever use ). A couple weeks later I get a call from my credit card company asking if I was aware of some unusual activity on my card. Turns out someone at the towing company stole the number and my card got charged for a little more than $1300. Almost all of it was for wireless companies like virgin and cingular etc. except for one charge for $100 a couple days before St. Valentines day for 1 800 flowers.com . awe isn't that sweet? Little scum-bucket thief person bought their Valentine some flowers. Anyways I have had about a dozen phone calls with my credit card company and one unpleasant encounter with a notary public trying to get it cleared up. So what happens today? I get a "Thank You" card from 1-800 Flowers.com thanking "me" for ordering from them and offering a discount on my next order.

usually credit card companys are pretty good about that stuff, what with ID theft and such. if it was someone at the towing company that did it , it should be a little easy'er to nail the little f**K anyway. keep us posted, i for one would like to know how this turns out just in case i have to deal with the same thing some day> good luck!

dzero, what action is being taken against the tow truck criminals that tried to rip you off. I want that person sent to Devil's Island for 100 years. So - AngelZ got the flowers and all I got was, "Where the hell have you been?"Guilty as charged. 1st, I had to work like crazy so I could take a vacation. 2nd, I went on a family ski trip for ten days. Now I'm working like crazy to get caught up. I won't mention going to two (yes, I said 2) Joshua Bell concerts in other counties so I had to stay over. Not at the concerts - at local hotels. One was in Orange County and the other way out in Palm Springs. I won't give you a link because you barbarians would probably just spit on it, then take a snooze. spikeloudCongratulations Spiky. rn2jd.tripod.com/cl1.gif [/img] I can see your photo now - Driver of the year. I love polenta on top of Mexican casseroles. You know, like tomale pie. shywriterI would love to see, and hear, Bill in person. I understand he is a very charismatic speaker. I did make it to Tom Bergin's on Saint Patrick's day. I'm always so happy there. I go often for lunch but this is a special time there just like it's been for 80 years. I have a shamrock with my name on it way up high on the wall. No! I haven't been going there for 80 years but the tavern has been there that long.

dzero, what action is being taken against the tow truck criminals that tried to rip you off. I don't know and probably won't. Still am waiting on some paperwork from the credit card co. That's why I was so surprised to see the charges already credited back to my account.

And it's paid for. That's the best. It's so much fun to have a new car - washing it when it gets one little speke, speak, speek, spik, spek, bit of dust on it. Dang, I forgot how to spell it. Oh, it doesn't matter, ya'll know what I mean. I bought a new car last month but I can't discuss it. Because I might have to drive a client around in the thing it's gotta be a discreet color, a 4 door sedan, with NO goodies that show. bah humbug. Hmmmmm, shywriter isn't driving her car much right now - maybe she'll loan me her very cool red convertible for a while.
