spikeloudI haven't heard much about Beowulf. I'm curious to see it but it's down a ways on my list. Did you like it spikeloud? Was it cheesy? Was it fun? Was it pukey? ****** dzeroI forgot about that. I love selective amnesia. **** dzero A friend saw an advance showing of Hitman, and said after the opening they showed a scene from the beginning of Dark Angel. They actually use it to explain the organization. This makes me want to see it more than I did before. I don't like films that are one kill after another. I like suspense and anticipation.

i saw beowulf last weekend....many quality kills Did you see it in a regular theater? Or 3D? Or IMAX? I have heard those who see it on 3D or IMAX like it better. I could see it on 3D about 20 minutes from where I am but would take twice as long to get to an IMAX, not sure if it's worth the trip .

spikeloudLooks like they are using the same ideas as was used in DA. I think I will go see the movie. I like futuristic movies with creative ideas.

This makes me want to see it more than I did before. Slow to get here, but I'd meant to ask about this movie after I saw an ad with the bald guy saying that where he came from, they gave them numbers, not names... and then showed off his bar code. I thought that all sounded vaguely familiar.... The review on NPR (can't remember which reviewer, sorry) pretty well said it stunk-- I think he said that even with all the game-qualities & visuals, it was boring. Of course, maybe people say that about him, too.

Anyways, I haven't seen the film so can't say whether it's good or not . But I would ask this...has the reviewer from NPR ever liked an Action film?

I think there was a chess movie he liked-- those horsies! Maurading armies! Now there's action! ...and I'm quite sure he spoke well of a swordfight or two when Kevin Braunaugh did Hamlet...

Kevin Braunaugh ? ? ? You are speaking of the man I love. Well, one of 'em. Yeah, whatever happened to him? He was quite the hot ticket for all of about 2 weeks (well, okay, a little longer) but he's disappeared. I think there were a few more of Uncle Willie's plays left for him to do, if he was in the mood...

Oh, crap. Yeah, him too. (I guess Aerie has the hots for brother Kevin, though...) Hey! Any chance that Kevin & Kenneth are Manticore clones? )

dzero can explain the movie better than I can and he'll probably have a link to the trailer. My friend saw an early print of the movie, without some of the music/background sound. He couldn't even explain exactly what he saw and heard. He was so surprised and it went by so fast. They used the opening sequence of Dark Angel to explain the deep cover organization that "these clone-like beings" came from.

I plan on seeing Hitman but it'll have to wait until after I see Awake on Friday It's hard to believe they'd use actual footage from Dark Angel. Are you sure your friend didn't mean footage that looked a lot like DA? Kinda like what we are already talking about, the similarities between the two? Saw No Country for Old Men. Really, really good. Deserves all the good reviews it's getting. On another website I read someone compare the movie to an art house version of The Terminator. I think that person meant that as a criticism but to me that's a compliment .

Weeelll, I see that two of our group have been busy! (rolling up my sleeves...)On another website I read someone compare the movie to an art house version of The Terminator. I think that person meant that as a criticism but to me that's a compliment . ...but did he ever say he liked art house remakes of action movies?

just saw hitman tonight..... its true, they use footage from da in the into of the movie i hung around and read the credits at the end and saw "additional footage from DARK ANGEL copyright fox films all rights reserved
well hitman is a fox film so i guess it was cheaper to use the old footage rather than shoot all new stuff for the film
