Finally got to read Ep 9. There's nothing better than a bowl of popcorn to go with your VS3 ep at night, when everybody else sleeps and you can have your peace.
I was really swept away by the things I read. Don't think anyone could have peeled me off from the computer I was stuck to. I can see why this was a controversial episode, but my feelings about it are clear. I totally loved it.
Jerry said something very interesting at the beginning of the thread, about people who don't love themselves or are insecure. I think it fits Max perfectly, and Logan, too.
I didn’t feel Max was out of character here, or let’s say, not too much so. She has so little self-confidence at the moment that it’s impossible for her to convert her heat into something positive.
As for Logan, he reacted the only way I could see him react. He loves her, but just accepting her attitude would mean that he becomes her human doormat. He can take it as long as he understands it (see the explanation Max gives him in Meow). But right now he doesn’t understand her attitude and she doesn’t feel secure enough to tell him. Hence the clash.
Again, I loved it. That doesn’t mean that I’m not looking forward to some happier moments for them, cause I am. But I also felt that this fall out between M&L was needed to help release the tension, the frustrations and the insecurity they both have galore.
Nice cleaning of the atmosphere for the things that might (hopefully) follow. My only complaint right now is the big haitus until January. Sigh. Fanfics, anyone, to help us bridge the gap?

Sorry that I'm so late on the review, but my schedule has been crazy lately. Anyways, the episode was great! I loved the speech/ thoughts of Max at the end. It was a good insight into her mind and character. My only complaint is the long hiatus between episodes. But, I'll manage. You guys have definitely earned a break. Happy holidays. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

I've just returned from vacation and the first thing I did was read "Cat Scratch Fever" again. I loved it so much. I really like Logan when he shows anger and frustration. I liked ep. 301, Labyrinth, when he was really angry at Max. I think that Logan would have a lot of anger built up, waiting to explode. Just because he's walking again doesn't mean the anger isn't there. All through Season One I perceived Logan as a very complicated man, self-involved, even selfish, with a darkness that was never brought out. Holding in those feelings must be very difficult. VS3 has shown a little of that. I hope we get more. I also hope to see more continuity and less of each episode standing alone. What ever happened to Deck and the X-5's? Cat Scratch Fever is now my favorite VS3 episode. It will take a lot for these very talented writers to beat this one.

Past is Prologue is right up there: the plot thickens - a lot.
Lydecker's wife's murder finally being brought in, and what is Lydecker up to? Did he know before Logan knew?
alec - growing up! kindah --- but being a real friend to Logan possibly by making Logan deal with his legs and not lie to himself -- or to Max?
alec trying too hard with Asha?
the rise of the rebellion in Terminal City - something's gottah give
Good episode - they just keep getting better.

Scirta's quote from December when "Cat Scratch Fever" was first run. ****There's nothing better than a bowl of popcorn to go with your VS3 ep at night, when everybody else sleeps and you can have your peace. I was really swept away by the things I read. Don't think anyone could have peeled me off from the computer I was stuck to. I can see why this was a controversial episode, but my feelings about it are clear. I totally loved it. **** Scirta, I hope it's okay to quote you from the first run of the episode. You expressed my own feelings so well. I had popcorn and wine and read it in bed; I just had to lie down when I read all that passion. The emotion expressed by Logan, the anger and frustration he feels for Max, is brought out so well. It was very real to me. Many of us loved the anger that Logan showed toward Max in episode one, Labyrinth, when she admitted "The Lie." He was too easy on her that time. I love how other writers portray Logan and enjoy reading him no matter what. However, I never really perceived Logan as a crippled prince charming trying to get Max up onto that white horse so he could kiss her gently. My Logan is still that arrogant, self-involved man, often selfish, striding through life likes he owns the world, that Logan of Pilot. He has just been softened somewhat by love. I hope Star and Queen Gwen write another episode together. ;D

I've been sitting here since 5:00 pm, its now 8:46....I've gotten through 5 episodes!!!
I LOVED this one. In general I love what the writers are doing now, because even though we still have these wack ass transgenic freak dudes (i'm a fan of season 1), a lot of the storylines are more like the first season. I was glad to see Max's heat come back (which was totally ignored in s2) and the problems she faced with it made the episode great. Instead of focusing on some monster being the core problem of episodes, the stories are focusing on Max/Logan and other life problems that would be fitting in season 1. About Max overreacting to the heat, I guess there is a point there. I dont think it was THAT out of character though, and I'm just glad to see the focus off of "freak of the week"style stuff. And about someone's concern with Joshua's character fading....Personally I prefer it that way. My DA glory days was when there werent any lizard-men or dogboys. With just a few "ehhhs" about Max's reacting to her heat, I'm loving it. If we got DA back for a 3rd season, I think you guys should be in charge of writing it hahaha
Anyway, episode was great! *tugging at shirt collar vigorously* HOTTTTT ;D
