I'd like to throw my 2 cents in and say that I was thrilled with the first ep. I wasn't expecting the I love you's so soon, but it certainly was time for Logan to hear it said and know the truth. I agree with Aerie that we do need to see some conflict between Max and Logan. As much as they compliment each other they can also create a lot of heat......not of the sexual nature but of the conflict nature. The chemistry will be more interesting if their personalities "colide" now and again. I have a feeling that the writers were trying to get rid of the nasty lie and get some loose ends tied up that were left dangling.....and that I love you from Max was definitely needed. Now that the "mess" is somewhat cleaned up, except for the virus, some other problems for the couple can come into play. Of course I'm a major shipper so I've no problem with Max and Logan spending a great deal of time together. I need to see a lot of Logan and I'm banking on this season to provide me with that pleasure! I loved the graphic, thought it looked very nice. Max and Logan both look beautiful! That pic of Logan was delicious! I can understand Logan's harshness......in fact I've missed seeing him with some real personality for a change. I've needed to see a more passionate Logan. I can understand the hurt he'd be feeling. And I think he would have issues with alec. He'd be feeling betrayed by alec too I believe. That will all come correct. Logan's due to show some real emotion again. I can see potential for conflicts between the humans and the transgenics. It would be an interesting development. We know that humans can't remain too long in Terminal city before they become ill. It wasn't mentioned in this ep but it would also make an intersting topic I believe. The characterizations were perfect. Glad to see OC so involved and it's great to have Matt Sung back! Personally I'd be happy if we could forget all about S2...... just my own opinion, but obviously it existed so it must be dealt with. But I'm going to love the feeling of S3 being an original season, but with the feel of season 1! Thumbs up Star and Sister Moon!

Must say.. I LOVED IT. I think it was very well writen and It indeed gave me back the season 1 feeling. I agree that the "I love you" may have been a little rushed but I also think it had to come one day or another...so...I'm not falling over that. I could really feel every single scene.. I could imagine how it would be on tv...... Dark Angel isn't dead...and for sure isn;t going to die any time soon... Keep up the good work . I'm SO looking forward to the next ep. Thank you all! ;D *thumbs up*

I loved ep 3.1!!! I wouldn't change a thing! After dancing around each other for two years it was about time Max and Logan said "I love you." Sexual tension gets pretty boring when you know the writers are never going to resolve it. Now, the new sexual tension can come from them being interupted by the events between the transgenics and the ordinaries.

I agree completely with mjwillia. Now on with the show.
It does make me smile to see how a few think that "I Love You" would be the end. I see it as a beginning.
;D ;D

i love u 's are boring jeez i've read m&l shipper fics where they kept saying it (n doin it) and OMG m&l were written SO dull, corny, cheesy that i almost turned into a m&a shipper errr..... for sure i wouldnt watch the m&l fics i've read, i'd rather poke my eyes! m&l relationship should be in the background, full of chemistry and not in the forefront full of boredom , jmo i take angst (excitated reaction) over fluff (yawning) anytime of the day to each it's own ps : yes queenie , i know i know : jaded ;D

I can see your point Orchidee. Too much fluff can be dull. Although I like to see the relationship in the forefront, but a turbulant relationship does make things more interesting.
I agree with Aerie too in that now they can concentrate on other problems besides the big "misunderstanding" as they call it in romance novels. That being said, I do want to see them have conflicts. The relationship they had in Season 1 was great. Up and down, here and there. It kept us on our toes always wondering. I guess that's why so many things were contrived in S2....the virus, the lie etc. The producers figured that more people would watch if you kept the couple apart. They were right in their thinking....in a sense. What they came up with didn't work.
I say let's see what our wonderful Cape Haven writers can come up with. It will be a challenge to keep Max and Logan exciting. But with the talent that exists there....they can pull it off if anyone can.
But I am on the side of great shippiness I'm afraid, amidst the angst of course. I love angst too. Makes things interesting. Angst and shippiness......what more could an M/L fan ask for?

Back to alec: I'd like to see his character developed. He is a "little boy" but he has been "growing up" even though he tries to cover it with sarcastic remarks. I'd like to see Asha be part of the "alec character development". I know the actress has gone to another series, but that doesn't mean that Asha did! The last we saw her was when alec told her to "get lost" or some such at Crash. That was mean of alec esp. since it was he who had come over to her. The expression on her face was one of puzzlement - and I don't think tha t Asha would be one to chase alec. Maybe alec can get himself in trouble again (no big problem there) and Asha can be instrumental in getting him out of it, just because she's a "good guy".
I understood Logan's reaction to alec though I doubt if alec understood it.
Now ---- for a cure for that virus and the return of Lydecker. Maybe Lydecker can be instrumental in getting the cure?

The relationship they had in Season 1 was great. Up and down, here and there. It kept us on our toes always wondering thats what i love too i like being before my tv or comp screen yelling "get closer! kiss him-her! tell him-her! dit ! do it now! ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHH SO CLOSE !!!!" and fall off my seat and sigh ^^ the bad part of that are the bruises on my butt but its worth it ;D

Now that I've read the rest of the page I felt like I have to add something intelligent to say. I'm a M&L shipper all the way through but it's a good point that they shouldn't be at the forefront. Im basically repeating what you guys said but I had to type something with more than 8 words.

Wow, I have so much to say but I'm going to forget it all. First of all, I'm one of those who writes fluffy, shippy, M/L boredom fics. LOL. Sorry about that -- a few people seem to enjoy it. ;D BTW I am going to get back to shippy fluff post-haste...almost ready to post again, I promise. Sorry it's taken so long. For the purposes of the VS3, all of us diehard M/L shippers (and a couple of non-shippers) are trying reeeeeealllllly hard to stay true to the entire DA experience. Definitely let us know if we're overdoing M/L or having them do something you don't think they'd do. Of course in S1 the M/L relationship was at the fore-fore-forefront, like it or not, and we are trying to get back to an S1 feel. So we have to strike a balance, and I think we're doing a pretty good job. Frankly, I'm thinking if I wasn't helping write the damn thing (which I often wish I wasn't so I could enjoy reading it -- kinda loses the excitement after the 157th time LOL), I would enjoy VS3 more than a televised third season. There's little chance they would have done a 180-degree turn from S2, which is what they would have had to do to fix what I didn't like about S2. What else? Hmmm...oh, I TOTALLY agree with Home about the first ep being the hardest to write, and I've said so many times to Star and SM. They had to set the standard for the rest of the season, with nothing to go on except their own imaginations and thorough knowledge of the show and its characters. That said, I did have some problems with the characterization of Max and Logan in the ep, and I've talked with them about it. The thing about characterization is that it's completely subjective. There were some televised eps where I also didn't agree with the characterization that the writers created!! Because I have in my mind a certain understanding of the characters, as we all do. Each of us would write them differently and each of us has our own opinions about how they'd react in a given situation. No matter how they were characterized in Labyrinth, the bottom line is that WE are now Dark Angel writers and Star and SM did a superb job with the writing. That we disagree about characterization only makes it more interesting. I guess that's enough for now. I'll probably be back when I think of something else.

Hey all! Sorry I haven't stopped by here before. Not that I've been ignoring you guys - the contrary. But it's a strange feeling to be on the other end of the episode from being the one watching and critiquing. I kind of know now why we didn't see too many of the show writers posting on the boards!! I'm loving reading all the comments - positive and negative - here and elsehwere on the web. The thing I and the other CH writers most want to do is to keep DA alive and well for the fans who loved it. The fact that you guys are reading and commenting and discussing what we did is the best compliment we could get as writers. Just like the televised version you all may not like everything we do as the VS3 progresses - but as long as we can keep you interested and reading we're doing our job! And one more thing I wanted to say - SM's and my names may be on the ep as the writers but check the Research Team listing at the site - everyone of those names is a person who contributed to Labyrinth. This VS3 is a real team effort and the Editors (who have to deal with my aversion to commas LOL) and the Technical Advisors (who make sure we get the details right!) put in just as much blood, sweat and tears as the writers! Keep discussing away and if there're any questions I can answer (other than spoilers for the next eps!!) post them here.

im not a huge m/l fan, but i would really suggest slowing down their relationship! Also, do you think you would ever consider putting in flashbacks? I love flashbacks, and they were a big part of season one, there's no reason they can't be part of 'season three' as well!

How long does it take to finish one of these episodes? It looks like a lot of work, especially because of the fact that you probably have to proofread it a million times to check for mistakes.
