If a banner ad has not been chosen then, I vote for EnglishRose's #3 (although all of them are great and I would be happy with any one of them).
What ad would you all vote for?
I agree with moyaselene's idea about writing to JC, CE, fox (I know FOX doesn't care - but they have DA under lock and key and JC can't do a thing with DA unless FOX agrees.), cinescape, and JA.
Why can't we have all 5 addresses on the front page of this site instead of only JC's? Could Star24 write something to the effect that "if you write to only one person write to JC" but "if you want please write these folks too..." It can't hurt.
Also, GREAT work UncleGordo! I'll fix my letter with your new info and post it here! (I'm still working on a "super ego feeding" letter for JC.)
Also, I think I'm going to post it on the official JC sites Moyaselene found and see what happens!

Here's the letter to JC with UncleGordo's updated numbers - I thought I would "fly it by everyone" for any suggested edits... The point of the letter was to "stroke" JC's ego...
Dear Mr. Cameron,
To begin, I would like to say: “I am a huge fan of your movies and your TV show Dark Angel.”
I was prompted to write this letter after reading an interview you gave March 2003 for Cinescape. Your frank answers to the interviewer’s questions are like a “shot in the arm” to so many fans of your TV show Dark Angel. There are so many of us who haven’t given up hope that some day you will be able to bring a conclusion to Max’s epic story.
Through the story of Max Guevara you challenged me to value people for their deeds and not just for the color of their skin, the cut of their cloths or their spiritual beliefs. Such as, Max a courageous young woman of mixed ethnic background fighting for her human rights, Logan a male hero admired for his intellect and the fact that he is wheel-chair bound is only used to show his strength of character, there is a positive portrayal of an African American gay woman Original Cindy. These are far better challenges than the bug eating challenges seen on “reality TV.” For this I thank you!
Also, I wanted you to know that your fans are not duped by the network executives at FOX. We do our homework. Contrary to FOX’s boastful claims, we know that Dark Angel carried the viewing audience for the 2000-2001 Tuesday 9:00 to 10:00PM timeslot as compared to FOX’s “huge hit” 24 in its first year. Just look at the rating/market share averages:
DARK ANGEL 2000-2001 Tuesday 9:00 to 10:00PM average wkly viewing audience 10.24M average wkly ratings/market share 6.56/10.07 TWENTY-FOUR 2001-2002 Tuesday 9:00 to 10:00PM average wkly viewing audience 8.62M average wkly ratings/market share 5.42/8.17
We also are aware that FOX had to pump up the advertising for their “huge hit” 24 only to achieve a slightly better rating/market share averages:
TWENTY-FOUR 2002-2003 Tuesday 9:00 to 10:00PM ratings for the first 12 episodes of this season average wkly viewing audience 11.05M average wkly ratings/market share 6.74/10.06
Mr. Cameron, my point is, I want you to know that there are so many fans of your TV show Dark Angel who know that the decision makers at FOX are genetic eunuchs. We know we have been lied to.
Sincerely,
|

again, just a short letter, but i think that it's a little better. i sent it off to sfweekly and cinescape. aww, crap. i must have delieted the jc and ja addresses from the bottom . dammit!!!!! Following the example of many of my fellow viewers, I am writing to protest the cancllation of one of my favorite shows. I could be talking about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Futurama, Farscape, or Roswell; but I'm not. (What can I say? I'm a bit Tv oriented) I'm writng about Dark Angel. While I will morn the loss of my favorite shows, every other network, except Fox, has had the decency to provide (or plans to provide) a real ending that wrapps up the story. Fox, in there infinite wisdom, delayed truly cancelling Dark Angel untill after the season fanalie had already been shot. Freak Nation, the expensive fanalie produced by James Cameron himself, was great telivision. However, it was designed as a real effort to bring back fans into the fold and attract attention for season three. It wasn't an ending, it was a new beginning. To leave the story at that point is a betrayel of all the people who watched Dark Angel. We want Dark Angel back. It was a show that tackled real issues and had a more diverse cast than anything I've seen. Now that the "space western" that took it's place has crashed and burned, the money is once again avalible at Fox. They know there's still money to be made. That's why Fox hasn't sold off the rights to the show. While they make money off the Dark Angel books, PS2 game, posters, action figures, and soundtrack; the fans are left to sit and wait. Help save Dark Angel. Speak up and be heard. Lets bring back something with value to Fox, and see what happens next. orchidee just PMed me this info that could be helpful in our campaign. James Cameron is being honored as one of the special award recipients at the Saturn Awards and I think that it would be a good idea if we snail mailed and e-mailed the Saturn Award organizers because, who knows if they receive enough mail they might ask him "We received a lot of mail from fans asking about Dark Angel, what's up with it?" Below is the link to the article. www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-main.html?2003-03/05/11.45.filmQuote:Special Award Recipients The Dr. Donald A. Reed Award •James Cameron Thanks again for the info, orchidee!! ;D

you can write to fox, james cameron and cinescape. the addresses are all here someplace in the recent posts. if you have any ideas how to reach the dark angel fans (and i know were missing a big percent. if the petition numbers are it, it never would have made it to a second year), that'd be great. personally, i think we should send in barcodes again. that was a really goo idea that worked for roswell. i jus tthink it'd be great to bring that back right around the cancellation date. that was the beginning of the campaign and i like the idea of resurrecting it.around the anniversery. it's kind of like "we're still here". we could all mail them like a week before the cancelation dateand hit them w/ a billion right on the anniversery. it makes a statment.
i know i was shot down before, but i hope you guy's will think about it.
