Oh god the shipperness… Been an interesting day in the world of Dark Angel fan boards… My thoughts on the new storylines… The Human/Transgenic/Familiar war – I watched this story ever Saturday morning for about 4 years of my life. It’s so X-men it hurts. Not necessarily a bad thing, could be done very well. But they might kill off the chances of having a normal story. Can’t be doing normal things, working at Jam Pony stuff like that if Everyone is constantly trying to kill you. That will probably hurt the show. If they can keep up the storyline and have a constant war type environment that lasts atleast 10 episodes then it will be great. If they keep all the characters involved and keep the sappy ass love stories out of it ( sorri I know u all love that crap ) ;D then I can see it being good. Familars are cool, but I would have preferred if they weren’t handled like a cult from a B horror movie. A lot of plot holes needs to be addressed with them too… I.e. – why don’t they just use a couple of the those guys that can move nuts with their minds to kill Max… but it’s a TV show I’ll live. Someone said before, they desperately need to keep the human element in there. No Logan or OC, Normal, and they focus totally on Transgenic and Familiars, is just I dunno, I don’t like it… But I can’t really spec that well… Well at least realistically, I really don’t have any clue on what they are going to do… It’s bad but I always get the feeling that the writers/tptb are just making it up episode by episode… Kinda negative I wouldn’t mind watching the whole war storyline… Throw in some old escapees, bring a little more nuts about Manticore, maybe some REDS, EO back-story and I’m happy…

Well said John Kimble. I don't see how they can maintain the familiars plot line. I really think it could have been completely differently with better results. I like the idea of the transgenic war, but only if they don't make it too X-men. I could work if given the right writing and set up. That hasn't been done this season.

The human/transgenic conflict could be done very well, I'm sure, and I wouldn't mind at all so long as the human touch is still there to keep reality in perspective. The Familiar plot was very poorly done, IMO. It could've had some potential, but alas, it was not to be so.

Word JohnKimbleIt has seemed that a lot this season has been make-it- up-as-we-go-along. Hopefully that is being addressed for S3 and they are plotting out a story arc for the season. I would have liked the familiars so much more if they had only made them a rival genetic engineeering program of some type rather than the cult angle. To me that is just too much on the fantasy side rather than the sci-fi. That would have also tied in the Manticore theme from S1. JMO. I'd like to see the familiars be dealt with and fade away and more on the human vs x's. And I wouldn't mind seeing the Red Series brought back in at some point. As far as the romance - I'd be perfectly happy for it to fade back into the background and just have Max and Logan working together again with the UST there for spice. The relationship stuff has been way too prominent this season the fault of the virus IMO.

Hi JohnKimble Mr. Oh Canada himself! I thought about you yesterday in all the ugliness and wondered if anybody invited you over. I'm glad to see you here and I agree with you! I also agree that the romance should be put on the backburner. I don't know of anyone here who really wanted Max and Logan shacked up together all lovey-dovey every minute! We want the fiery tempers and the chemistry amid them working together on whatever the new threat to humanity may be!

What a guy, JohnKimble. We all seem to agree with most of what you say. None of us want a sappy love story, but it was done so well in S-1, we didn't even know it was a love story. Until JC said in an interview last summer "The relationship was resolved." Still wondering about that one.

I mean, I don't think anyone had any big problems with the Reds last season. The Reds had the necessary darkness but they didn't need to be a cult to distinguish themselves from Manticore and the X series.

I think what has killed the Familiar plotline for many is that they have waited until now really to develop it. People just lost interest in it over the season and forgot about it. Max found out she had no Junk DNA and White was introduced in Bag Em, Eps. 2. Then the plot for many in started in MITM which was the 9th episode tand was when viewers found out that there were more superhumans. Thats a long time to go without getting back to the main storyline of the season. Then to HL, eps. 13 & then Exposure (Eps. 16). Then they bring in the Telekinesis stuff. Huh? Now they are getting ready to throw the human aspect in. Its going in too many different directions and it is starting to look sloppy and convuluted. Like John K. said. Like they make it up as they go along.
Plus the whole cult thing is just ridiculous. It is very hard to take them seriously when they go around being snake handlers.
Then there is this whole lets kill the entire world. Uh yeah. I admit, that at the beginning it held some interest. But now I am bored with them (because it is taking to long to get to the story). The Coming needs to be renamed The Annoying or how about The Going. As in go away.
Last but not least, I don't see White as an effective bad guy, but just plain annoying. He talks, I want him to shut up and stop annoying me.
All this combined, just makes me want to see the end of this storyline though it is just beginning.
Oh and Sandeman who? Does anyone care if we ever see this guy?

I agree that the cult must fade away. This show used to be based on science not some weird ancient breeding cult that has people who can move things with their minds and who feel no pain. Geez. The Reds were cool. At least there was a scientific explanation for the fact that they didn't feel pain etc. I know it was far fetched but, hey, this is TV. It would be nice to have them show up again.
Hey John Kimble! I take it you're Canadian...hmm...I wonder why I guessed that... Greetings from a fellow Canuck!

He's sniffin' out honey's in church!..lol (Great Max comeback!)
I totally agree what needs to be done:
1.Get rid of the familars cult/ It's boring and like someone said it took took long to develop and now, whocares? Sandeman is going in that direction too if the writers don't pick it up and soon.Keep the science plausable.Thats what made Manticore so threatening.I could see it happening in the future.TOW's need to go.
2.Ames (Apes...lol Orchidee) Is boring and non-threatening BRING BACK 'DECK!!!
3.Bring back Manticore!
4.Get rid of the virus!!!!!!! If they absolutely need to be separted (M/L) then do it by choice, not a virus.
5.MORE darkness/more OC, Sketchy and humans./believeable plots What made MAx special last year was she was the only one, now everyone is Transgenic or a familar. If Logan turns Transgenic, I will stop watching.

I need more posts....
Anyway, yeah I can't wait to see how they will handle the Familiar plot. I don't really see how they can, and I really hope they don't try to rap it up and introduce a new enemy, well, unless that enemy is crazy vampire Logan, but thats a whole different story...
But they need to focus more on Max's being the special one and what that all means, and whats up with the Familiars and the comming and all that. Leave me in the Dark for too long and I'll stop caring...
