OK it sounds like 2 Hollywood reporters were printed last week. 1) for Sept. 17- 23 (the regular weekly) and 2) a "Special Edition" HR on Sept. 20th focusing on the Emmys. I assumed they were going to forgo their weekly and just do the special edition.
All I know is that we paid to be in the Special Edition Emmy Hollywood Reporter because we felt that everyone would see that one. Has anyone brought this edition? Because if our ad is not in that one then we must do something about it. I combed through Borders, & Barnes & Nobles & the Book Stop in Houston this past weekend, but I was unsucessful.
Also we have a person who was supposed to buy the Special issue one and send it to special people like Jessica's Manager, JC & etc. We are trying to get a contact in Michael's Manager's office as well.
Edited to say that the HR is suppesed to send Scrib extra copies so we can also send those to people who we want to see the ad.

I think for the book store circulation, they only give out the weekly edition, but for the most part, the subscriber-based HR is actually printing on a daily basis. The Special Emmy edition came out on the Sept. 20th, but I do not believe that they will be selling that at regular book stores/newsstands. The special edition is given out to the subscribers of the trade paper, unless they specifically backorder THAT issue. I apologize for not clarifying this beforehand. The print ad did get published in last Friday's Sept. 20 Special Emmy edition. I signed to a confirmation letter that it will be included in that particular issue.
My HR contact had told me that she will be sending me 5-10 copies to send to me, although I do not know how true she will hold to those numbers.

Hi everyone, I don't want to sound negative because I think you all are doing such a great job. But, it's just that I get the Hollywood Reporter in my area, and the ad wasn't printed in the September 17-24 issue. Apparently, according to scribbled, it appeared in a special Emmy issue. Ok, that really makes me mad, because I sent in money asking for the September 20th issue, which is what I was told to do... and if the ad isn't in it... hm. Ok, whatever, I guess I can't do anything. Man! That sucks. Is there a number I can call to change my order to the special Emmys issue?

Be patient. Don't go cancelling your backorders. I'm sure the ad is in there. What you will find at bookstores is a "Weekly International Edition" of the magazine, which does not have the ad. Only the "Special Emmy Edition" does.

Yes, it should be fine that you put down the Sept. 20th edition of the HR. It is a ONE-DAY edition, not the weekly one.
Last May, I backordered The X-Files Farewell Special Edition. I had requested for the May 10th edition, the XF edition and not specify that it on my request and they gave me what I had asked for. I do not think that anyone could get that special issue off the shelves. If you had requested for the Sept. 20th issue, I am pretty sure they will give the edition that got released that day, not the weekly one, unless that was what you had specified in your backorder request.

HI, Just like to say Im supporting you a hundred percent. Once I start my new job I will be donating but until then I will be emailing fox, james cameron...etc on the list. I thought that ad idea was great. I was thinking...someone make their own "streaming video" It's not that had... a tv card...and some computer software.. get the "eyes only broadcast" from Dark Angel....and keeping "eyes only image" voice over our appeal! It might cost you less if you do it yourself... I would be happy to do it if I wasn't so far away... being in Australia and all. This idea will save you the making of the ad.. All you need to do is fundraise for the airtime. We must not give up hope! FOX are a bunch of idiots to cancel this show. Im hoping that this is all some scheme to promote Dark Angel...but Im starting to doubt that so we must KEEP FIGHTING! We must write to all the fans out there...thru actual actor fansites and dark angel fans..and get them to email email and EMAIL! Without Action, nothing will be done!

Hey, does anyone know how long it will take for the issue to come if I back ordered it? An estimate?

Maybe about 6-8 days, taking into consideration the time you sent the request to get to Los Angeles, filling the order and then shipping it. Perhaps two weeks tops, although I doubt it will take THAT long.
As for those who outside the U.S. who want to backorder the issue, it is $10.00, which already includes postage.

Hey guys, I'm wondering did someone on the committee actually go thru and email all the contacts that were posted, or was that suppose to be an 'everyone should do it' type thing. 'Cuz about the reaction thing, I don't think anybody in the media knows about the ad heh. Oh yeah, almost forgot! Is there a link on the savedarkangel.net site of the full ad and not the shrunk down version. Some ppl I've talked to would like to 'see' the whole ad, to know what I'm talking about. ~Jeiara

I seriously appreciate the fact that you have taken the time out of your lives to do this. best wishes nevyn

I'm still in need of a link with the full graphic of the ad. To add to the pool with advertising, what do you think about radio advertising? I believe it's cheaper than print advertising, unless you want to go try an ad in a national newspaper instead. Another way to advertise is with those poster ads you see on buses, subways, and trains. The tv commercial idea mentioned on Fox would be really funny if we could pull that off. Though I think a really cool idea is to find a billboard near Fox and put up a DA ad right in their face. ;D Oh, and a friend said just for fun, do some skywriting above headquarters. Imagine what messages in the sky they'd be seeing from fans. ~Jeiara
