Anybody have any suggestions for this one? I downloaded quicktime today onto my PC. I am now trying to remove it. Problem is it doesn't show up in add/remove programs so I can't use that. I went to delete the application directly from my "Program Files" folder but i get an error denying me access to the quicktime folder. Same when I go the quicktime folder through "search." I checked the properties and it was marked "read only" I unchecked that but still can't delete it . all I can find on the Apple website are directions to use Add/Remove programs .

I just updated my Internet Explorer to IE7 and am really bugged by the new "Command Bar" and I can't figure out how to delete it If anybody knows I'd really appreciate it . Jeeze I swear to god this bar is just so wasteful and redundant I can't even think straight it's driving me crazy .

Best bet? Dump the whole damned BG product and install Firefox! ~ ;D~ I've been thinking about that too since all the info on the net seems to say this "command bar" can't be gotten rid of ( and a lot of people hate it ). I've never used anything but IE though so a little nervous about trying something else . Question about firefox or switching browsers in general. Connected to my PC is a wireless Router, will i have to reconfigure the Routers settings? Or will switching browsers have any effect on the other PC that is on my home network? I would think not . hmmmm I just realised I'm the type of person who likes to answer his own questions this is very disconcerting . Almost as troubling as that stupid f^cking "command bar" ...........did I mention I really hate that thing "BG"? que?

I'm with shy. I've used Firefox since the first beta version and upgraded every time there's a new version. I use Internet Explorer for the Microsoft site, once a month, for updates, patches, etc. You can switch browsers without interrupting your router. I have reconfigured my router a couple of times but it had nothing to do with the browser. That command bar sounds troubling. I hate stuff like that. I use the Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar and that's it. I have a huge monitor but I don't want my screen cluttered at the top.

Internet Explorer stopped working for me a few years ago (my lovely computer is quite tempremental, he decided that he didn't have any cd drives for a year then just as suddenly decided he did), so i ended up just using the browser thingie with Real Player, it was exactly the same as IE but never went in a huff. Of course i ended up using Firefox eventually and i think it's great. I love the tabs, so i don't have to fiddle around with different windows. It is so much more user friendly than anything Microsoft has done. The only issue i've had with it is the 'pop-up blocker', great in theory but when a webite launches a pop-up which you actually want (like you clicked a link which opens in a new window), they often get blocked. Also some media doesn't work automatically, you have to download plug-ins and things.

^^^ I had to do that Realplayer thing on my old PC ;D. Hmmmmm all these great firefox recommendations and I'm still hesitating ;D. I like the new IE7 except for that 'command bar'. It is noticeably faster than the old version. I do think I'll try firefox, just going to research it little more first.

You can try Firefox without disturbing your IE. You'll have to keep IE anyway for the Microsoft downloads.
The tabs and safety features are worth using Firefox. My peeps tell me the extensions are a great thing but I haven't tried any yet.
I have to format and reinstall EVERYTHING on my main computer. I've been putting it off for too long. It's such a nuisance. So much to install. gripe, complain and whimper.

IE has tabs now too. Though I don't think their tabs allow you to undo closed tabs when you accidentally close one (and also save the history of that tab). You also can't drag and drop in the area right above the tabs (as seen in Tweeds pic) so if you know you're going to want something for a few days but don't want to clutter up your bookmarks with it. Also has the lovely little session manager which gives you the option of reopening all the tabs you had open prior to restarting your computer (very handy if you're like me and do stupid things that require that frequently). Their little download manager is also quite nice. Now as for extensions you mean like the ultra handy little video downloader I have and you can snag videos off of everything. Or the little music thing at the bottom of my page to control my music (probably would have been a little more handy if I didn't already have the controls right underneath my thumbs when I'm using my touch-pad. And yea that safety thing...Knew there was a reason I was screamed at and ordered to download it and never again touch IE a few years ago. And yea I kept my IE for updating purposes as well. I also had an issues with incorrectly blocked pop-ups on my old computer, I think something got fixed magically when I downloaded it again.

Can I just state here that Bill Gates can be extremely glad that he doesn’t get too feel all the frustration he causes? Seriously, I just lost a whole, entiere day to getting my laptop running again (or having others do it, luckily after it shut down completely with a “severe exceptional error” and now have problems with a very wonky Firefox, which just never has happened before. End of rant part, start of question: Does anybody how to make dissappear a window that just pops up again every time I close it? It’s blocking everything (restarting doesn’t work because it’s one of Goggle’s own about their toolbar, appearing every time I open firefox)

So many questions and not enough answers!
Can you right click on the Google window and get options?
Can you minimize the Google window and keep it on the task bar at the bottom of your screen?
Do you have the Google toolbar?
Do you have any of the other Google programs installed?
If you decide to delete Firefox and reinstall, let me know first.

I tried your advices, but the stupid window (claiming that I haven’t downloaded the toolbar even though I had ) didn’t react to anything at all... and after two days of annoying me it suddenly disappeared this morning. Clearly a Christmas miracle ;D.

A row of keys on my keyboard will not work properly if try to hit shift and press a letter, instead my computer will start beeping and after I let go the letter that has been hit will repeat itself once as a capital letter, then several times as a lower case letter. The rest of my keyboard works fine and nothing was spilled on my keyboard, this has just began happening recently and the keyboard itself is less than a year old. Any help with this is welcome and appreciated and thanks in advance.

It sounds like you need a new keyboard though even if it is relatively new.

Another odd thing to me is that the keyboard writes on the row in question is fine as long as everything is in small letters, I can use the caps locks, but, not the shift key for capital letters.
