You think that one was bad. Look at this one from this bitter and twisted individial:
Weak script, marginal acting leads to nose picking fun, 18 August 2005
Author: mikeanncas from Sacramento, CA USA
Saw this last night at the premiere in Sacramento, CA. This happens to be where it was filmed and I am thinking the rating for this movie (7 out of 10 as of last look) is from a lot of those people. Unfortunatlely, these people were probably so overjoyed that their city was finally featured in a movie, they thought they were rating the movie experience, and not the movie itself.
About the movie....I can summarize that up quickly... weak script, hot babe who cannot act and has language issues, a few memorable lines of which I have forgotten now, and a descent display of the city. Overall, I would not recommend this unless all your laundry is done, you have dyed your fro, your one friend has canceled your date to the fair, and you must attend a funeral tomorrow. If all these things are true, then by all means, find this movie and go see it.
The script is so weak that I am embarrassed that the two writers came from Sacramento. I'm moving....
This review screams to me as being from someone who felt he should be credited in the movie for just living in Sacremento (yes, before you ask, there has been instances of this happening) and was annoyed to find he wasn't. In the radio interview that was done for this movie, it was stated that the target audience was females between 14 and 34, but they had people as old as 82 telling them they enjoyed the movie.

from imdb.com
Me: With work beginning on the trailer, does that mean we are more likely to get Her Minor Thing in the cinemas? What do you need us to do to make that happen?
Debra: Hi,
The trailer will help us market it to Foreign distributors. Chat online with the folks who saw the movie in Seattle and Sacramento. Posting on MySpace.com, fan sites, etc. Many many people enjoyed it. Of course, it's a film that's not for everyone but that's OK!
Take care,
Debra

Debra told me that they had applied to the Raindance Film festival but didn't get in unfortunately. A film about a guy that sucks his thumb made it in though leaving me to wonder if the standard to get into this film festival are really low.

Perhaps HMT was considered too mainstream (because the audience probably won't need psychological counseling after seeing it! )

Debra didn't see the appeal of a film about a thumbsucker either.

from me: I hope when the movie eventually makes it to DVD that it has behind the scenes footage and bloopers on it.
from Debra: We have a bunch of ideas for the DVD. Michael was actually very very funny on the set. One scene where he asks Jeana why she's not comfortable with him physically, can she tell him why? This is the end of the scene for him, but while the camera was still rolling he says "Were you a man in a former life?" I'm afraid we all laughed and may have ruined that take.

News from Debra on Her Minor Thing coming to cinemas around the world
All in all, we think by mid-November we'll have a good answer for everyone as to the film has been sold in XYZ country and possibly then some firm dates for you. Or at least knowing when the dates will be forthcoming.

from imdb.com Hello All, I'm sorry I've been working on getting the movie out to you folks and not answering your questions. There's so much to marketing a movie (and mind you, I'm working on the behind the scenes items, not actually meeting with people.) We are, as written above, working on getting distribution. This include foreign as well as domestic (U.S.). We are preparing for the American Film Market in Los Angeles, California which occurs in early November. We should know where the film has been sold, some idea as to when it will be available in your country and the U.S. The trailer is in the works and should be done by Oct 20. Now you're wondering will you get to see it off the www.herminorthing.com webpage. I hope so, I will try to get it up on the webpage. It will most certainly be available on DVD next year, most likely later in the year 2006. Thanks so much for asking, I again appologize for being delinquent in replying. Take care, Debra

A little update from the Her Minor Thing Producer
A little update for your web page. We're making great progress on distribution we hope to have specific information soon. Lots of great people are on board to get our indie film out to everyone!
News from Debra:
Hi All,
I promised you an update about mid-November. Though this won't be as detailed as I'd hoped, there is some good news I'll share. First, the movie was presented at American Film Market in Los Angeles. It's gotten good response. Some of the comments about “Her Minor Thing” are:
"We love it." "Estella Warren is adorable." "Really nice cast." "Really good production value." "Smart." "Sharp writing." "Commercial." "Hilarious." "Very well done." “Your phone must be ringing off the hook.” (yes, it is!)
We have a number of offers from different countries for distribution rights. (I'm sorry, I cannot tell you which country yet. Need the ink to dry first!) Currently sorting thru all this. Additionally a number of domestic US companies are also contacting us. These distribution companies cover theatrical, TV and DVD.
Thank you all for your interest and checking in. I'll keep posting!
Take care,
Debra HMT Entertainment
Hi All,
I didn't mention the trailer, did I? We did finish the trailer but (don't you hate that little word?) because of the music laws we cannot post it "as is" because the music may change before the trailer and movie are released. It depends on the distribution deals. So the next thing that's happening is adding music that's public domain to the trailer and of course there are some changes we want to make.
I know if I send you the link, you won't show it to anyone right? Sorry for the delay.
Take care,
Debra HMT Entertainment

Me: Is it true that Michael wanted the part of Tom instead of the leading role
Debra: Michael was approached only for the Tom role as Christian had filled the leading role first. Jim tells me that Michael came to him later thanking him profusely for casting him as Tom. He said he was so happy to have been able to make out with both Estella and Ivana!
