You haven't upset me, I just don't think it will ever happen nor should it. There were actually several Americans considered for the role at different times, I know Tom Selleck was one, but non were offered it so far as I know. I also vote NO on the idea of an american playing Bond. I understand what you guys are talking about, and I agree. Also Karl Urban was in the talks to be bond.

Craig rocks as Bond. Simple as that. See, contrary to popular belief the new Bond was cast to appeal to boys, not girls. Can anyone say man crush?

Hes a chauvinist womanizer who likes expensive cars, easy women and guns, it has been THE male fantasy for 40 plus years. Lets face it they've never gone for the Jane Austin crowd. Ironically the person with the final say on who plays Bond is a woman, Barbra Broccoli, supposedly Craig was her choice from the beginning even when a lot of other people wanted someone else. If it had been me picking who was going to be cast I'd have gone with Clive Owen. He's got the grit, the charm the right look and the guys just cool, a throw back to the iconic leading men of the 60's-70's.

I like Clive Owen too but not for Bond. To me he would have been too similar to Roger Moore or Pierce Bosnian. I like the tougher quality that Daniel Craig brings to the role. Anyone going to see Twilight? I'm probably one of the few who won't being going to this. Just has no appeal to me. In fact there is nothing out right now to see. Thought about going back to see Rock and Rolla again but it is already gone from the theaters.

I think Owen could bring just as much badass to the role. I also think he could have found a better balance between the suave and the thug. He did a movie about ten years ago called I'll Sleep When I'm Dead for most of the movie he looks like a bum but for the last 20 minutes he cleans up and puts on a pretty sharp suite and even shoots a guy with a nice little silenced pistol and he looked extremely Bond like but also very intimidating. Photographic evidence I think he would have looked just as tough as Craig and even cooler.

Jeepers you are so quick to grab the wrong end of the stick. If you take the time to read my comments you'll realise that my observation was that Craig seemed to be hailed as A great Bond by more men than women. That's all. My comments had nothing to do with the character of Bond in general. Give me a womanising, gun toting, suave but ruthless secret agent over a Victorian ponce anyday Speaking of fantasies - Clive Owen as Bond. Yes please

Yes please I know and I was referencing the fact that the character of Bond was created to appeal to the boys, so why wouldn't the actor playing him be picked with the same demographic in mind. I apologize if my response seemed venomous, that wasn't my intent.
