From 1987 A fairytale about Vincent, a mythic, man-beast, who lives in a secret Utopian community of social outcasts beneath the city of New York in the vast tunnels and caverns beneath the subways. The story is about the emotional bond connecting Vincent to the beautiful Assistant District Attorney, Catherine Chandler. He is able to sense the dangers her job brings her, and he becomes her protector.

I have watched only one DVD in the last year.* REDwww.imdb.com/title/tt0111495/I love this movie. What's it about? Fate, destiny, love, hope, justice, God all the biggies. The story is even kind of fairytale like, just in case any Beauty and the Beast fans are currently laid up and watching lots of DVDs. There is in fact a kind of Beauty and the Beast relationship at the heart of the film. ok fine, beauty and the old manAnd it has a perfect ending. When I first saw it in the theater years ago I was holding my breath during the ending. * My DVD player broke down a year ago and instead of buying a new one I got a DVR from my cable company. I thought I'd get another DVD player latter on but I get so much with the DVR I just never bothered. The only DVD player I have now is on my laptop.

Do you own any DVDs dzero ? If so, how do you watch them? On a teeny comp screen. I have about 115 theater movies, 10 TV movies, 11 TV mini-series and 25 TV series. I still have about 300 movies on VHS. I don't even have a DVR anymore. I've bought a couple but they usually end up at my parents house. Since I dumped all my pay channels my brothers record stuff for me. The only program I've had them record for me is Meerkat Manor. OMG, Flower died. An extended family group of meerkats, The Whiskers, are observed in Africa's Kalahari desert as they forage for food, battle rival groups and avoid predators.R.I.P. Flower

Do you own any DVDs dzero ? If so, how do you watch them? On a teeny comp screen. That's partly why I've only watched one in a years time. My entire DVD collection for Aerie who keeps track of these things. Movies RedWedding Crashers 40 Year old Virgin Oceans 11 Pirates Of the Caribbean Kill Bill vols 1&2 War of the Worlds Collateral Ultimate Matrix Collection ( 10 disc set ) Saving Face Almost Famous ( directors cut ) Star Wars Trilogy ( remastered box set ) Revenge of the Sith The Sleeping Dictionary Honey Sin City ( extended/recut 2 disc set ) Fantastic Four Into the Blue Truly baffled as to how Revenge of the Sith got into the collection, don't like the movie at all. War of the Worlds is only OK, think I got it used in a 2 for 1 deal TV series Dark Angel Seasons 1 & 2 Band of Brothers Undeclared Action Mind of the Married Man mind of the Married Man? I know, I know all I can say is that Michelle Krusiec is very pretty

I <3 Netfilx.
I have about 40 or 50 DVD's but now im tip-toeing into Bluray. Problem is Bluray isnt cheap and most people don't have it so if i get a movie on Bluray I can pretty much only watch it at home on my HDTV, cant stick it in my laptop either so I'm reluctant to buy many of them. But I also don't want to spend money on DVD's when I'd rather wait and get Bluray so I'm pretty much at an impasse as far as recent purchases.
I've been so bowled over by the Wire i think I'm going to pick up all 5 seasons of that when i can scrape together the cash.

what have you been watching in your DVD player besides Dark Angel. ...uh.... nothing? (for the last 6 weeks I've been carrying around one S1 DVD or another of DA on my laptop... ;D) but in the spirit of the question: we're catching up on things we've recorded but haven't yet seen. In the past few weeks we've watched 4 of the 6 hrs of the miniseries, Tin Man, and 3 more eps of Flight of the Conchords ( ;D). We also have watched about 5 eps of Eureka (have watched all again from pilot on in the past couple mos in prep for the new season starting at the end of July ;D.)

or, "The Adventures of Joshua's Smarter Brother"
(starring Sandeman as "Fahther...") (yes, I watched it & got all gooshy over the moosh, and was ribbed unmercifully for it. In fact, when he first saw Joshua, Dr. Hubby gushed, "CAH-therine....")

From memory didn't Flower get knocked up and booted out of home for daring to catch the eye of the Lord of the Manor? Why is it that they always blame the girl?
That was the only bit of Meerkat Manor that I saw. I can't watch nature shows, they're too depressing.
***
The last DVD I watched was Hard Eight. Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights).

That was Daisy ! What a little slut she was. I watch it like it's a science project the whole time wishing I was one of the team earning their advanced degrees in the Kalahari desert. What a thrill that must be. or, "The Adventures of Joshua's Smarter Brother"
(starring Sandeman as "Fahther...") (yes, I watched it & got all gooshy over the moosh, and was ribbed unmercifully for it. In fact, when he first saw Joshua, Dr. Hubby gushed, "CAH-therine....")OMG - no resemblance between that damn dog and a majestic lion. I only liked joshua in 2.01, Designate This. If only they had left him there with the other freaks. I usually don't like Fantasy and hate it when people call it Science Fantasy. That is just stupid. I'm loving Beauty & the Beast. It's so simple, a little cheesy, and no details about anything. I will admit that I love Catherine's clothes. Talk about wonderful. Her nightgowns are beautiful enough to be formal wear. OMG, when I'm able to get out I'm buying a whole new wardrobe. Enough of vintage and boots and cropped tops and jeans.I keep forgetting Michele's topic and wondering off into idle chit chat. How embarrassing.
