JESSICA AND EVA TO OPEN CLUB? ACTRESS' GO IN TO PARTNERSHIP TOGETHER Jessica Alba and Eva Longria Parker are apparently to be setting up their own nightclub. The pair, who are close friends, have decided to expand Eva's LA club, Beso, to Las Vegas. A friend told OK! USA: "She's [Eva] really excited to have a place to party in Vegas with all her friends." According to another source, Jessica, who recently gave birth to her first daughter, Honor, thinks the new club is a "solid investment". Eva is currently working on season five of Desperate Housewives while Jessica is taking time out to be with her new family. Info from www.ok.co.uk

Hot mama Jessica Alba doesn’t seem to be wasting any time getting back to her killer pre-baby physique. In fact, barely six weeks after giving birth to Honor Marie on June 7, the star has already lost 25 of the 40 pregnancy pounds she gained! “By the end of September, she should be back to her pre-baby weight,” Jess’ longtime trainer, Ramona Braganza, tells Life & Style. LOS ANGELES GALA SET FOR OBAMA Celebs to attend 'Black and White' affair designed to salute America's diversity The invitation only Black & White Gala for Barack Obama is scheduled to take place Aug. 21 in Los Angeles backed by an honorary board that includes Don Cheadle, Jessica Alba, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Lucy Liu and Ashley Judd. The event is being designed to "celebrate America's landscape of diversity and its many cultures," reports Daily Variety. Tickets are $1,000 for the general reception and $2,300 for VIP. The evening was planned by a crew of Obama supporters independent of the candidate's campaign and finance staff in Southern California. The group includes entertainment industry publicists and event planners. Proceeds will go to the Obama for America committee. A venue has yet to be announced, but organizers said the gala will take place in Beverly Hills. It is also uncertain if Obama will make an appearance during the event, as the Democratic National Convention is scheduled to take place four days later on Aug. 25 in Denver. According to Variety, Obama is expected to return to Los Angeles for a fund-raiser some time before the general election, perhaps in the fall at an event organized by the DreamWorks trio of Jeffrey Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and David Geffen. ALBA CALLS FOR HOLLYWOOD EQUALITY Actress JESSICA ALBA isn't competitive with rival actresses - because she believes they should come together to seek equality with their male counterparts. The Fantastic Four star has risen to become one of today's biggest Hollywood actresses, competing with fellow movie star pals Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson and Eva Mendes for the top roles. But Alba doesn't consider her peers a threat - instead urging them to stand up and demand equal pay and similar treatment to male actors. She says, "I'm not competitive with them (actresses). I root for all of them because we definitely don't have equality with men in this business. "There are a lot more men making a lot more money and headlining movies than women, and the more of us who can come up and do that the better. I want my friends to produce, direct, act, write, all of it." She adds, "I think being competitive defeats the whole female movement. I want to be encouraging to my girlfriends. Totally." Stars To Send Shoes To Sudan Scarlett Johansson is taking her involvement in humanitarian work even further. After skipping the Oscars last month to tour India with Oxfam, Scarlett is back with a plan to help out refugees in Sudan. She’s donating 2,000 pairs of shoes through Soles4Souls, an organization that gives people in need the gift of footwear, and their latest campaign called the Million Pair March. She’s not the only one pitching in. Other stars like Parker Posey, Kristin Chenoweth, Moby, Don Cheadle and Jessica Albaare also supporting the campaign to raise $1 million and collect one million pairs of shoes to benefit the refugees. “Bringing sandals to remote villages will change the quality of an impoverished person’s life overnight,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder of Soles4Souls. “Wearing shoes can stop hookworm infections, as well as cuts and puncture wounds from sharp objects that can result in permanent injury. It helps to end the cycle of pain.” The situation of refugees in Sudan really does seem to be one of the top priorities of Hollywood’s humanitarian workers. We’re looking forward to more stars really making the trip to see for themselves how conditions are over there. Info from www.ecorazzi.com

www.fashion.ie/aggregator/gossip/98173-jessica-alba-hearts-olympicsDid you see Michael Phelps break the record for most career Gold Medals at the 2008 Olympics last night?!? Jessica Alba probably did. The beautiful actress - and new mother - recently blogged all about her affection for the Summer Games, saying that her and husband Cash Warren are glued to the TV every night. "I don't know about you all but Cash and I have been glued to the Olympics," Alba wrote in a MySpace blog post titled What an Amazing Opening Ceremony! "How amazing was the opening ceremony?!? I still don't know how they coordinated 2008 people to move in perfect sync." Alba added: "The last time I got this excited watching sports was when [friend and new Los Angeles Clippers point guard Baron Davis] was in the NBA playoffs." P.S. How come I didn't know Jessica had a myspace blog? Damn looks like I'll have to register. Don't really want to . Can I read it without registering? P.P.S. I have not watched one second of the Olympics.

Jessica Alba: "Cash and I Have Been Glued to the Olympics!" Tuesday August 12, 2008 Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren can't get enough of the Olympics. "I don't know about you all but Cash and I have been glued to the Olympics," she wrote in a blog post titled "What an Amazing Opening Ceremony!" on MySpace. "How amazing was the opening ceremony?!?" she continued. "I still don't know how they coordinated 2008 people to move in perfect sync." Alba, 27, described the men's 400 meter relay as "insane. "We were down by almost a half body length going into the final turn and then next thing you knew it was closer, closer, closer until we touched the wall first!" she wrote. "Cash and I went crazy." She said swimmer Michael Phelps's victory was "so memorable. "The last time I got this excited watching sports was when [pal Baron Davis] was in the NBA playoffs," she added. As for 2-month-old daughter Honor, Alba wrote: "Everyone in the family is doing great." Here's the link, www.usmagazine.com/jessica-alba-glued-to-the-olympics

Jessica Alba: 'Keep Your Man on His Toes!' New mom Jessica Alba says the secret to a successful marriage is to keep your man on his toes. The 'Sin City' actress -- who married partner Cash Warren in a secret ceremony on May 19 -- says the most stable relationships are the ones where the woman is feisty and strong-minded. She reveals, "Some men don't like their women to speak up, some like their women to wait on them hand and foot and put the dinner on the table, be submissive and never talk. But then there are men who want feisty, crazy women who are going to tell them how they feel every day and keep them on their toes. Most people just marry the wrong person and when you don't marry the right person how can you possibly expect to be together forever?" Info from www.showbizspy.com.
