Jessica on Cosmo UK Angelina Jolie may love being pregnant, but not everyone in Hollywood is similarly gushing. "I never felt less sexy," Jessica Alba says of her own pregnancy. "I mean, I wouldn't have changed it for the world ... but I wanted to get rid of all the weight." The actress, who gave birth to her daughter, Honor Marie, last month, opened up about motherhood - and her recent wedding to Cash Warren - in the August U.K. edition of Cosmopolitan magazine. "I never thought I'd find a man before 30, let alone marry him and have his baby," she told the magazine. "I always used to meet the wrong guys - the ones who wanted to hang out for a week and see how far they could get. If you didn't have sex in the first few days, you were either frigid or a lesbian. So I held out - and, boy, am I glad I did!" As for her no-frills wedding at the Beverly Hills courthouse, Alba insisted the hush-hush ceremony was "very romantic." And she had no desire for an over-the-top, celebrity-studded ceremony. "We're not a typical Hollywood couple," she said. "I love that he's not an actor. I'm way too high maintenance to be in a relationship with an actor - they're all such divas!" Warren has also been instrumental in keeping Alba grounded during her rapid transformation into wife and mother. "Nothing was planned - the pregnancy or the wedding," she admitted. "But he took it in his stride and convinced me we'd conquer all!"

Alba: Men loved me as a blonde Jessica Alba was left in no doubt that gentlemen prefer blondes after she bleached her hair for a film role – and received more male attention than ever before. Can't agree with this either. Everyone on all her fansites are overwhelmingly for the darker hair. Her most successful films though F4, Sin City have been with blonde hair. Maybe she is taking those films success and confusing it with peoples reaction to her? Its all about her not wanting to be pigeon holed as a Hispanic actress. She looks a lot less Hispanic in F4 and Sin City than she does in DA. If I recall correctly shes actually said as much in interviews. Thats basically the main thing. I don't get it Eva Medes and Eva Longoria are doing pretty well without trying to break away from there Hispanic looks. Just noticed this bit... Looks like confirmation of what ML Fan long suspected. Kinda surprised she threw that out there.

Jessica Alba: The Weight Is Almost Over Just call her the Lose Guru. In the August issue of Cosmopolitan's U.K. version, new mom Jessica Alba recalls her pregnancy days, saying: "I never felt less sexy. I mean, I wouldn't have changed it for the world...but I wanted to get rid of all the weight." Well, faster than you can say private trainer... E! News has learned that just over a month after giving birth to daughter Honor Marie, the Love Guru star is inches away from her prebaby body. "Jessica is almost back down to her fighting weight," a source tells us. So close, in fact, the actress is confidently pulling clothes just a size above those she wore before carrying hubby Cash Warren's kid. Alba received a shipment of new clothes from some of her favorite labels Tuesday, all . "She is normally a 26/27, and she is a 28 right now," our source adds. "Pretty quick at losing the weight." And even quicker at making women around the globe simply envious. Info from www.eonline.com.

And we have another member who wants her to be like Natalie Portman and Scarlet Johansen.
Jessica Alba is herself - why should she want to behave or look like some other actress. We should remember unless we hear her say it - it's rumor and gossip. I hope no one reading this believes any of the crap they read in gossip mags.
I'm not a guy but I like her for what she is. I hope she never tries to be like any of those other actors.
She has probably learned a lot from every movie she's been in, working with different actors and directors. She has the reputation for a good work ethic; dependable, knows her lines, works well with cast and crew, etc.
She's never going to be a Meryl Streep, or probably never work in a Edward Norton film, (praise the Blue Lady) but she's doing fine as Jessica Alba entertaining millions of people. Not to mention earning millions of dollars. ;D
She is the only actress that I make a point to see all her movies, and I've liked her in all of them. She's often in the movie because the producers hope her sexiness will help some unattractive male actor look good. Mike Myers, Dane Cook and Aaron Eckhart come to mind.
Even Catherine Zeta-Jones couldn't make Eckhart look good in No Reservations He's a dud.

I'm going to stay away from psychoanalyzing her fashion choices. But I am sticking with my opinion that she is wrong if she thinks men in general prefer her as a blonde. She can and usually does look great as a blonde but go to any of her fansites and ask the members which they would choose and they would easily vote for her natural color. What the eff is wrong with Edward Norton?

Nothing, he's a fine actor. He was wonderful in Primal Fear and should have won a oscar for that performance. I remember staying in my seat at the theater and watching it again.
I've never found his other movies to be that interesting except for his character. The Illusionist is an example of that. Thinking about it The Italian Job was a fun movie. I haven't seen all his movies, so I really shouldn't judge, but that never stops me.
Ever since Joaquin Phoenix let me down I've lost my taste for good acting.

This is probably going to get me banned but I've never been good at keeping my mouth shut. You maybe completely comfortable with her lot in life and the roles she takes but she doesn't seem to be. I've yet to see her defend a project she did that wasn't either critically acclaimed or a box office hit. Even the box office hits she has a tendency to rip. I've always gotten the impression that she's not on the hole proud of the movies shes made so far. If thats the case then i think she should look to emulate Scarlett and Natalie only in so far as there role selection. She complains more than any other actress I've ever seen about what people think of her and how the industry views her. They view her a certain way because she hasn't really proved shes more than a pretty face. I don't say this to be mean or negative, I think shes an extremely gifted actress, but she needs to prove herself more if she wants people to take her seriously. If you want to be more than just the pretty love interest in rom-coms then you have to stop picking those roles. If she wants to do the comedy stuff she needs to try and grab the Sandra Bullock/Julia Roberts type comedies where she would be the lead. Hell look at what Katherine Heigl's done lately. I'm not saying this to get down on her, I want to see her succeed I'd love to see her making films she was proud of. I'm trying to give advice granted she'll never read it, but still. I'm not saying shes a bad actress or a bad person or that there's anything wrong with her other than shes made bad career choices. Also as far as the stuff i said about her going lighter in hair color so she didn't look Hispanic, that was something i read in an interview I don't have a source but im 95% certain she said it herself.

I find it very hard to believe that, that's it, that the only movies shes gotten in the past year or so were Meet Bill, Good Luck Chuck, and Love Guru. I'm willing to be at some point there were opportunities for something better maybe something that was a bit riskier but still.

I don't know man , these things get out on the internet all the time and I've never heard of one role that she turned down where the movie ended up being good. I have heard of a few roles that she wanted and didn't get but nothing about her turning down what would have been an interesting role.

I don't think that Jessica Alba is really happy and comfortable with the movies that she's done since Dark Angel either, because, she does seem to be unhappy with the projects that she's been offered and this has come across in interviews several times. I don't think that she's gotten a project yet that has given her much to do other than be a pretty face and that too much of the attention that she receives has too much to do with her looks opposed to her career and her career aspirations. I think that Scarlett and Natalie just as examples have worked with well-known and A list actors and directors who have been more willingly to promote their projects and have been given roles that have given them a chance to show off their acting ability, but, I think that more often than not that Jessica has done a lot of promotion for her projects, but, that her co-stars have seemed to be for whatever reason to be unavailable to promote their projects with Jessica Alba and I think that probably put a lot of pressure on Jessica that other actresses in her age group including the ones who were previously mentioned haven't dealt with as much because they have worked with actors who helped promote the movie and so it wasn't all about one person alone. I agree with you 100%. I think that both "The Love Guru" and "Good Luck, Chuck" were both comedies but, both projects were clearly Dane Cook and Mike Myer's projects. I would like to see Jessica be the lead character in a comedy. I want to see her succeed as well, but, it's really hard to ignore it when Jessica doesn't seem to be happy with or proud of the work that she's done. It's been a really long time since I've really thought that she was proud of a project that she's done. I think that she's simply made movies that haven't given her much to do and that part of the blame does fall on her. I know that she has a good reputation for being ready to work and knowing her lines etc. but, I haven't gotten the impression that she has been happy and or proud of the final product of the movies that she's made and I think that has been the case for more than one project. I think that unfourtunately more often than not that Jessica has been written off as a sex symbol and that she would like to be taken seriously but, I think that in her case that perhaps she needs to be more choosy about the projects that she's in. I know that she is obviously being paid well for the projects that she's been in but, that now it seems like she would like the attention that she received to be more about her talent than how she looks. I think that this was what started the media attention about her not being proud of her Hispanic roots and I think that sometimes that she comes across as being too candid, even if though it probably isn't always her original intent. I also know that Jessica has said that despite being Hispanic that she doesn't speak fluent Spanish and I do remember an interview where she said she felt that since she didn't speak fluent Spanish that she didn't feel welcomed at Latino/a centered events and so she stopped going to those types of events. I know that both that both Eva Longoria and Eva Mendez speak fluent Spanish and so I think it's a little easier for them to promote their Hispanic roots in the media than it is for Jessica.

www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/alba%20wont%20talk%20about%20weatherly%20romance_1075188JESSICA ALBA refuses to discuss her previous engagement to actor MICHAEL WEATHERLY - because she doesn't want to upset her new husband CASH WARREN. The Latina wed film producer Warren in May (08), just weeks before she gave birth to the couple's first child, baby daughter Honor. But she hates divulging information about her relationship with former Dark Angel co-star Weatherly - who proposed on her birthday in 2001, when he was 32 and she had just turned 20. They split in 2003 after four years together. She tells Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine, "That's all in the past and I think it would be disrespectful to my husband - I have to get used to calling him that - to talk about it." www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/alba%20bans%20honor%20from%20acting_1075264New parents JESSICA ALBA and CASH WARREN are banning their baby daughter from chasing fame - until she's at least 21. The newlyweds are determined to make sure Honor, who was born in June (08), should finish her education before she pursues the life of a celebrity - if that is the life she chooses. Alba says, "When she finishes college, she can do whatever she wants." But the actress admits it could be tough convincing Honor to wait: "I think at some point all little kids express that desire, because they're so used to being treated like a star."
