From this week's People Magazine. Revealed: Jessica Alba's Secret for Losing the Baby Weight! By Amy Elisa Keith Just two months after giving birth to daughter Honor Marie, Jessica Alba is 25 lbs. lighter – and her trainer is telling PEOPLE just how she did it. “Jessica went from a size 8 to a size 4 pretty quickly,” says Alba's longtime trainer Ramona Braganza. The actress – who flaunted her post-baby body at the ALMA Awards on Aug. 17 – has been opting for a low-fat, low-carb diet as part of Braganza's 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone plan. She has been sweating, too: With an elliptical machine and treadmill at home, Alba, 27, has resumed her routine of core exercises, cardio and circuit training. "The baby always comes first, but Jessica definitely set goals for herself,” says Braganza, who now trains Alba six days a week. And having a workout buddy helped. “She loves working out with a girlfriend,” says Braganza, whose client, actress Jamie King, frequently trains with Alba. Says Braganza: “Jessica has made amazing progress in a very short time.” For the complete story, pick up this week's issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. Jessica Alba Mouths Off Add Jessica Alba to the list of celebs urging young people to vote this election season. The starlet will appear in Declare Yourself's new "Only You Can Silence Yourself" PSA campaign, in which celebs and real people are shown crying and with their mouths forced shut. In 2004, the campaign was launched with a photo of Christina Aguilera in which her lips appeared tied together with leather string, while screws and bolts were used on Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett. "Only you can silence yourself," reads the tagline for the campaign. "Make them hear you. Register to vote now." Alba was photographed on Friday in Los Angeles by celebrity lenser Mark Liddell. It is still being decided how her mouth will be manipulated shut for the campaign, according to a rep for Declare Yourself. Alba's ads will appear in magazines in the fall. Info from www.eonline.com

Ellen DeGeneres Joins Call to End Cancer The upcoming Stand Up to Cancer benefit is beginning to look like the Oscars, the Emmys and the Grammys rolled into one. I just got word that newlywed Ellen DeGeneres has signed on to work the phonebank during the live telecast of the fundraiser on Sept. 5. The talk-show pooh-bah isn't the only new name added to the roster... Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Kate Bosworth and Rob Lowe will also be answering phones. And that's just a smidgen of the previously announced participants, who include Christina Applegate, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, America Ferrera, Meryl Streep, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Scarlett Johansson and even Marge Simpson. The megawatt benefit will be simulcast live and commercial-free from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on CBS, ABC and NBC (and our very own E!) and cohosted by Katie Couric, Charles Gibson and Brian Williams. "Just Stand Up," a new single featuring Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Leona Lewis, among others, also benefits Stand Up and will be available on iTunes starting Sept. 2. Melissa Etheridge is set to perform the song during the telecast. Info from www.eonline.com

Jessica & Cash Introduce Baby Honor to Travel, Politics By Oliver Jones Originally posted Thursday September 04, 2008 07:30 AM EDT Jessica Alba and Cash Warren Photo by: Alex Berliner / Berliner Studio / BEImages For their first trip with 3-month old baby Honor Marie, Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren feared the worst. But they got what every couple with a newborn hopes for: A quiet flight. "It's always nerve-racking for new parents to fly with their child because you never know if you're going to ruin everyone else's flight with a screaming baby," Warren wrote on his blog ibeatyou.com about their first trip as a family – a jaunt from Los Angeles to Denver for last week's Democratic National Convention. "We sit down and cross our fingers that she will sleep," continued Warren, 31. "She does .... Nothing really exciting happened on the flight except the energy of what was to come was already palpable." Not that the couple was surprised that Honor, who was born in June, was the perfect little lady. "To date, Honor has been a great baby," wrote Warren. "Rarely crying. Opting to express herself through simple Haiku's or interpretive dance instead ... yeah right." He added, "My girl's got opinions. Lol." But that doesn't mean the trip was without incident. Warren said that they were very late arriving at the airport and that he spent time "cussing out the two lame photogs that were waiting at the airport for Jay-Eh" – which is the 27-year-old Alba's handle on the Web site, where she also has a blog. Jessica Alba's 'Shocking' Ad for Declare Yourself Originally posted Wednesday September 10, 2008 Jessica Alba, who appears in a in new bondage-inspired campaign for the voter group Declare Yourself, isn't afraid to employ a little shock value for a cause she believes in. "I think it is important for young people to be aware of the need we have in this country to get them more active politically," says Alba. "People respond to things that are shocking." The dramatic image "really resonates" with the issue of voting, according to the 27-year-old star. "If you don't register and vote and make a difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself." Of taking the photos, shot by photographer Marc Liddel, Alba says, "It didn't freak me out at all. What I like about Marc's work is that he tells a story and brings real emotion to his pictures." On a lighter note, Alba also has plenty to say about her 3-month-old baby Honor. "So far [motherhood] is the best thing ever," she says. "It is exhausting but way more fulfilling than anything I have done. Everything I do now is so much more meaningful because of her."
