I recently interviewed Jessica Alba for the current issue of Genlux Magazine. In between bites of brussel sprouts and while ignoring my pleas to autograph my box set of Dark Angel, she dished on everything from Christina Applegate to being on all those lists: Early fashion influences? “I loved Christina Applegate in ‘Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead!’ She was seventeen and working in fashion. I really loved her in that movie.” On her upcoming (comedic!) role opposite Mike Myers in "The Love Guru" and how she brought her own interest in Eastern philosophy to the table: “I dabbled in Eastern spirituality – it totally makes sense to me. Eastern religion makes you directly responsible for your actions. It feels like more of a direct path.” On being at the top of Maxim’s Hot 100 list and FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World: “I never put myself in those magazines, they put me in them. I never really cared about it, to be honest.” But Alba's much more enthusiastic about her Nickelodeon's Kid's Choice Award for Favorite Movie Actress: “I love kids! I’ve always loved kids, and [I’ve chosen] to be in movies like “Fantastic Four” where [I’m] playing a superhero, and I get to become that for them. It’s great to be this iconic figure that’s not Barbie, or Bratz, but strong and opinionated and sensitive and maternal.” Info from www.babble.com

An older interview with Jessica Alba from Estylo. Jessica Alba in Estylo The sexy star looks at pregnancy, the environment—and the perils of fame. The last time Jessica Alba appeared on our cover (November, 2007), it was due to her roles in box-office blockbusters such as the Fantastic Four films, Into the Blue and Sin City. Her potent image as an action babe has made her one of Hollywood’s top Latin leading ladies. Now the 27-year-old star is taking on a completely different role, one that is totally new to her—mother. She’s pregnant with her first child, due this month, and that was the first thing on her mind when we talked to her. Estylo: How are things coming along with your pregnancy? Alba: Good. Really good, thank you. Estylo: Any cravings? Alba: Oh, this is so boring! I don’t! Isn’t that terrible? Estylo: Some things must be different. Alba: Well, for sure I eat much more than before. I used to go for long days and forget to eat and grab a meal at night, but now every couple of hours, I turn into Satan if I don’t eat something! (laughs) And I’m much more tired than before. Estylo: How about emotionally and intellectually—do you feel a change? You have an added responsibility now. Alba: The way I approach things and see things, yeah. I definitely look at the world and the media and that kind of stuff and think, how will this affect this little person who going to be in my life and what does that mean? When you’re in the world and you’re a grownup that’s one thing, but when you think about how it’s going to affect a little mind it’s completely different. I also think about how I’m more—as much as I can, I have a green mentality about stuff and I’m a lot more eco-conscious. I’m somebody who is trying to be as “green” as possible with my car, my consumer habits. Estylo: Do you think you are more socially and politically engaged now? Alba: You know, I’ve always been involved in social issues, certainly in the inner city and educational mentor programs, giving to people who don’t grow up in environments where education or even individuality is fostered. It’s kind of, like, a “deal with life and survive” mentality and if you can rise above it, great. I’ve always been involved in that, and especially if I have time off I can get more involved. It’s important to expose my children to less privileged life, because I think a lot of kids can live in a bubble. Info from www.estylo.com

A sighting from this week's People Magazine. New mom Jessica Alba, browsing at Anat B in Beverly Hills. According to a source, the actress wasn't quite ready to try on too many things. But Alba did leave with one item, a white belted jacket with a wide white belt and ruching at the sides. Here's the link, www.people.com/people/article/0,,20209560,00.html Also from this week's People Magazine. How many times are you going to mention this. This is not a thread for Bug Eyes Hathaway and how she did better than Jessica. Who cares? We are here to support Jessica Alba. Bug Eyes fans can go to her fan sites.

I know this is going to come as a shock to everybody but I am going to vote for Jessica in that poll. ;D Having said that I don't think there is any need to insult "bug eyes" . I saw Get Smart this weekend, it was the first time I have seen any of her movies and I thought she did a nice job. As for the bug eyes??? I think that is a little harsh but then again we all know Aerie can be a harsh mistress. And besides she makes up for the "bug eyes" with those nice long legs.

H'WOOD SPLIT GOOD FOR JESSICA ROSE McGowan's breakup with her fiancé, director Robert Rodriguez, could be good news for some other actresses, who could end up with the leading roles she was set to play in his movies. McGowan was hoping to star in at least three planned Rodriguez films - a remake of "Barbarella," "Red Sonja" and "Woman in Chains!" But sources say the couple, who we reported last October were engaged, have split, partly over the problems Rodriguez had finding financing for "Barbarella" - the 1968 cult classic in which Jane Fonda played a sexy space adven- turess - with McGowan in the title role. McGowan, best known for her witchy role on TV's "Charmed," wasn't thought to have enough box-office draw for the $70 million remake, especially after "Grindhouse" disappointed with about $25.4 million in domestic ticket sales. "Too bad 'Grindhouse' didn't gross $100 million. Then, maybe, 'Barbarella' would have gotten the green light," said one source. "Instead, the moguls were saying, 'We need a bigger star, a bigger name.' " Jessica Alba has been touted as a possible replacement.Info from www.nypost.com.

Aww crap, I liked it better when it wasn't looking like any of Rodriguez's projects were going to get the green light. I was hoping he'd give up and get back to Sin City franchise, but no, now he might get to remake all the Sci-Fi films I've never seen and never really cared to.

Yeah I can't say I am too excited by the idea of this film. Still there is a big difference between her name being mentioned as a possibility and the deal being done.

Jessica Alba Ponders 'Laid-Back' Motherhood By Mari Kasanuki Monday July 07, 2008 New mom Jessica Alba gave birth to her first child, Honor Marie Warren, last month. Now she's carefully considering how she and husband Cash Warren will influence their daughter. "Kids' personalities have so much to do with the parents and their mentality," the 27-year-old tells Britain's Sunday Express for their S Magazine. "If you're very paranoid and uptight and won't let your child cross the street, they are going to take on that anxiety. If you're a little more laid-back and make your kids responsible for their actions, you'll probably have an easier time with them. I guess I'll find out." The actress has also been studying up on children's health issues. "I've been reading a lot about kids and infections, autism and vaccinations," adds Alba, who suffered from health problems as a child. "I've come to think that perhaps I was a product of my environment or the vaccines or something my mother took when she was pregnant." Already, Alba finds that her own eating habits have drastically changed. "I used to be a just a coffee for breakfast, yogurt for lunch girl," she tells the magazine. "Now I have to have something every couple of hours. I turn into Satan if I don't eat." Here's the link, www.people.com/people/article/0,,20210625,00.html

Alba: Men loved me as a blonde Jessica Alba was left in no doubt that gentlemen prefer blondes after she bleached her hair for a film role – and received more male attention than ever before. The sexy actress ditched her natural brunette locks for a peroxide barnet to star in 2005 flick Sin City, and was taken aback by the number of salivating blokes who approached her in bars. Jessica – who gave birth to her first child, HONOR, last month – was particularly unnerved by the age of some of her randy admirers. She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “When I went blonde for Sin City three years ago, I swear I’ve never had more male attention. I’d go to a bar and all these Arab Princes and much older men would want to buy me a drink – I’m talking guys in their 80s!” The screen beauty has also admitted she lost all confidence in her sex appeal when she was expecting her tot with hubby Cash Warren. She added: “I never felt less sexy when I was pregnant! I mean, I wouldn’t have changed it for the world and my cravings weren't bad – I craved citrus fruits, like lemons, oranges and grapefruits.” Info from www.thesun.co.uk. Jessica Alba: School bullies made my life hell Fantastic Four actress says girl gangs forced her to toughen up. Jessica Alba has spoken out about the school tyrants who targeted her as a child. 'I was getting beaten up every day by different gangs of girls. At one point I had to be escorted to my classes,' she says. The 27-year-old says the harassment escalated after she began her acting career. 'When I went back to school after making my first film Camp Nowhere, suddenly my friends weren’t my friends any more,' she tells S Magazine. 'They started calling me names and saying I was after their boyfriends.' But she was determined not to let the bullies hold her back. 'Looking back, I do think it made me tougher,' she says. Alba: Men loved me as a blonde Jessica Alba was left in no doubt that gentlemen prefer blondes after she bleached her hair for a film role – and received more male attention than ever before. I couldn't disagree more, she was at her hottest in her Dark Angels days with her much darker (what i presume is natural) hair color. She also just seemed different then, maybe it was an age thing but she just seemed more vibrant and energetic it seems like now Hollywood's taken the enthusiasm out of her.

Can't agree with this either. Everyone on all her fansites are overwhelmingly for the darker hair. Her most successful films though F4, Sin City have been with blonde hair. Maybe she is taking those films success and confusing it with peoples reaction to her?
