Hey! Since i saw the "...Blah Blah, woof woof"-thread abandoned, i thought it would be interesting to open a new thread about "nothing but Max and Logan". I know it´s been done before, but i never got the chance to discuss my thoughts with anyone. Although i read a lot about them, and most of the questions i had have been answered, i still have one or two things going on in my mind which i can´t figure out for myself. I loved to watch S1, and i thought S2 would be a pleasure to watch, too, but, honestly, i have to say that S2 turned my whole DA-world upside down. Maybe it´s because i don´t like that kind of science fiction, where weird-looking beings running around, trying to find a place in a world they never knew it could exist. When i thought `hey, now that Max and Logan are reunited, they can fight evil together side by side´, they had Max carrying this nasty virus and letting that transhumans out of Manticore. Now it was back to the old "I´m doing what needs to be done and you won´t stop me" thing we had in S1. I felt sorry for Logan. Throughout the season, Max managed to hurt his feelings. Instead of giving Logans money to the doctor to cure the virus, she used it to save alec. Like ´I know Logan will be pissed, and i´m kinda sad, too, but he will understand, as he always does.´ It´s like the writers had decided `Ok, now we have seen how obsessed a man can be with his work. Now we will see how obsessed a woman can be.` Now it´s the other way around. Her priority is to watch over the creatures she let out, while Logan tries to beat that virus bitch. She tries, too, but more half-hearted. Or did i get it wrong? Maybe i should watch S2 in my native language, to see if i missed anything. I only got the english version. But i like to read your opinions.

I for one am glad to see a thread such as this one in existence. I've been looking for the idea of still being able to discuss ideas that center around Max and Logan. Not that I (of course) have them coming to mind right now to even present a new one here. lol But I will, and then I'll have a place to be able to come and post it. So thanks for opening this one up.

It's been a while since we discussed our favorite couple but yeah S2 did turn the DA world upside down and around and not in a good way.
It's hard to discuss M & L in S2 since so much of the season they either seemed to be MIA ( Logan especially) or out of character (Max sulking and whining).
Freak Nation was a welcome breath of fresh air because it seemed like they were finally getting back to their old parntership and they even finally figured out about wearing gloves to touch!!!
Some of the good points of S2:
Logan's immediate and unhesitating welcome back of Max in DT- he never doubted it was her for a moment and he obviously at that point wasn't going to lose any more time with her - a nice change from S1
Max's admission in Two that Logan came first with her when it came down to being forced to a choice between him and Zack - until then she didn't seem to be very concerned about searching for a cure so they could be together.
BT - Logan's finally admitting he loved Max, and us finding out how he reacted after AJBAC to her death
FG - their working together on a non-transgenic EO investigation again - reminded me of some of the S1 eps especially their banter at the beginning and the end
Exposure - the very beginning - again some reminders of the old S1 chemistry at the very beginning of the episode especially in the hotel scenes.
FN - the runes scene, and the JP scenes where they were working together once again and of course the end scene on the rooftop ;D

Cavehominem, your English is quite good - so what is your native language?
I don't think that you "missed anything" - S2 was a major disappointment for most of us where Max and Logan's relationship was concerned. The tension between their personalities disappeared and "the virus" was an artificial impediment which didn't let either personality develop. The previous synopsis of how their relationship was depicted is quite accurate - few fun moments, but some. Loved "Fuggadahboudit" or however that is spelled because it had some fun in their working together, but for the most part S2 was a drag.
I'm still wondering why the writers did that.

Yeah there were some good points to S2. Not enough as most of us here would testify. But don't forget Harbor Lights! There was an ep that had no extra transgenics running around to muck up the story and Max and Logan even working together in a way that had nothing to do with an EO mission. Yet throughout all of it, there was an undercurrent of their partnership in spite of what separated them. The idea of Logan helping rescue Max was quite wonderful too, on account of how many times she did so for him.

Ginny, my native language is german. And thanks for the compliment! *blush*
Yep, I agree with you, they had their fun moments together. My favourites are Borrowed Time and Harbour lights. I whished Logan had thrown out the doorbell, unplugged the phone, locked the door and pretended to be deaf to any sound but Maxes voice when she filled him in about the temporary virus cure. ;D But we all know that it couldn´t be that they could enjoy their happy moment. Joshuas appearance when Logan is about to confess his love to Max reminds me of the scene in Meow, when Zack appeared just in time to interrupt their perfect moment together. Speaking of Meow…S1 is currently aired here, so I just had the luck to watch it. I cheered when they finally kissed…Good old days!
Here´s a question: What is your favourite S1 ep and why?

another german! we're taking over the board, it seems... ;D
i wasn't home in time to see Meow, so i'll have to revert to my trusty worn out tape... it is my fave episode, and the reason can be explained in just a few words:
"Will you look at us?" "Hopeless." "Pathetic." "Lucky we hooked up."
to me, that just perfectly sums up the whole of season 1!

Fee wrote Today at 6:14pm: Yep, it does! I kinda like the early S1 ep s more, though. To watch how their relationship grows with each ep. My personal favourite is either BBWW or FT or...heck, i dunno, i love all of them! Another question: At the end of C.R.E.A.M, when Logan watched the tape Herrero (spell?) send him, did he have tears in his eyes? Or was it just my copy of the ep that let me imagine this?

No he had tears that he quickly wiped away and put on his glasses when Bling came in.

Favorite episode? Difficult - Pollo Loco haunts me. I thought it was terrific. I loved Art Attack. It was fun. Max and Logan were "getting to know one another", or at least admitting that they were friends in addition to being colleagues in fighting the evils of the world. But there are "moments" that I keep remembering, and just love: flying through the window in Prodigy and landing on the bed; lthe kiss at the car in BBWW,the dream-dance sequence in BBWW, that goofy grin on Logan's face when Max left the hospital; the closing in Shorties in Love when Max stole Logan's poem and left suddenly leaving him feeling ; the honest scene (finally) in Meow right before Zach (whom I love) interrupted; Lydecker telling Logan that he(Logan) loved Max and that he(Lydecker) understood; the scene on the Space Needle in AJBAC with Logan and Max; and of course the scene when Max "died" in Logan's arms. Lots of "moments". I love the fight scenes too. Was a great series. I miss it.

Glad to see this kind of thread back!! I, as every S1 and M/L fan didn't really love S2. This past week I watched a DA marathon, the four first episodes in a row ;D. By the end of "Proof of Purchase" I was really feeling for Logan and, believe if u want, I was really mad at Max and I wanted to kill alec in a slow and painful way. Throughout the entire S2 Logan was always there for Max, and most of times it was to help her in apparently impossible (nothing is impossible to Logan) ways to help the transgenics, he never gave up on her and was always mad after a cure to the virus, and Max was always regreting, whining, bitching and crazy about saving the transgenics (I even think she was worst than Logan with EO). And these things can be seen especially in the first four episodes. When Max gave Logan's 5 grand to save alec's useless butt, I went crazy punching the pillow. It's like the guy works the impossible to get 10 grand out of nowhere, after researching and finally being able to find a guy able to cure them, all in the hope to be with her and she sends everything to hell like nothing. And then, every time she even botheres to call was to ask for something, and the very few times she got over to dinner it ended bad. Their relationship was back to full "quid pro cuo" but now it was like a one way road. Logan always helps Max with everything and she doesn't even bother to have a dinner with the guy, that's sad. Then in BT when Joshua interrupted Max and Logan in the middle of the love profections just about some damn spitting transgenic that ends up to be just a fu**ing dog, I was like cursing every single transgenic. Anyway, by the end of S2 things were better, even though it still ended quite bad, I was cooler.
Well, about my favorite S1 episode, the whole season is amazing and chapters like "Art Attack" and "BBWW" are awesome, but I must say it's "Meow" (I even have it in my PC), 'cause it's very funny, Max is the hotter than ever and they finally get to it, but I must say that Max getting with Rafer is a very bad thing about it but still...

But there are "moments" that I keep remembering, you left out one of my all time favorites - the beginning of Flushed. "You won't leave me?" - "I'm not going anywhere." can you say AWWWWWWW? i love that scene to no end!

Me, too. How could I have forgotten !
We saw them both as compassionate & vulnerable humans. So why did they keep hiding from each other? "Tis a puzzlement.

Favorite episode is Art Attack. Haven is a close second. As I have said before, Art Attack was the first Dark Angel episode I saw and I came into it when Logan rolled into Jam Pony in a tux. I was hopelessly hooked.
