You need someone to help you through all the misery in life, Max and Logan found that in each other, which is why I want to string up the S2 writers. They completed each other and I think that's what we all want, guy or girl. Amen. Now that's really well put. Thanks for saying what i've been struggling to. ;D

You need someone to help you through all the misery in life, Max and Logan found that in each other, which is why I want to string up the S2 writers. They completed each other and I think that's what we all want, guy or girl. The madness in them during that first season, the insecurities and the worry... The way they truly danced around each other afraid to share their feelings, to bring each other into their worlds for fear of losing that person... They recognized each other instantly for what they were. Alone... There is nothing like the love of a good woman to make a man stronger and more powerful than he could have ever hoped to be... Logan got that with Max. So well put by both of our male members. Max and Logan S1 personified what all of us are looking for. A desire for a connection and support with someone else. That was one of the true strengths of DA. On the S1 DVD David Nutter says "I think we quickly discovered that what was really working was Logan and Max, and that there was a love affair there." If only they had stuck with that in S2 the show would still be around.

Definitely! If there was a Max nd no Logan the show would be incomplete. The same goes for a Logan and no Max. The characters were part of a whole. hey're Max&Logan, not just Max or Logan!

Wyldegod, this is a tough situation and we should consider strategy;) When they lost track of it being about Max and Logan in S2, they really started fouling it up and probably lost a lot of viewers who tuned in to see that aspect of the show. That and the Transgenic of the Week format really was a stretch, Borrowed Time was a travesty of interfering in M/L Shipperdom, Gossamer? What's the matter, couldn't they find a Bug-Boy from Manticore that was flying around to terroize the populace?

I miss Max n Logan. There's pics of Jess n Mike everywhere but it ain't the same. Didn't the writers realise what a mistake they were making?

Apparently not. Is it possible that writers would deliberately sabotage their own employment? Who is responsible for the overall "story" anyway? Isn't that the "storyboard" that is supposed to give direction to the writers as the season develops. Maybe there was no one responsible for a "storyboard" and the season just disintegrated for lack of a masterplan!
Sad, indeed.

Maybe there was no one responsible for a "storyboard" and the season just disintegrated for lack of a masterplan! Sad, indeed. Many of the S1 writers left DA before S2. Most notably Doris Egan. Many of the S1 producers left as well. The ones who were left were doing what they were instructed to by the suits at Fox and by Rene Echevarria the S2 show runner. As far as a storyboard it seems that the planned storyboard was to eliminate the ML (as well as other core elements of S1 such as Manticore and the broken world as well as the ethnic and older characters) and turn it into teen angst soap opera stuff with love triangles etc. When that didn't work they had no clue what to do and floundered around for the remainder of the season.

What a dumb idea! "Teen angst" has its limits.

What a dumb idea! "Teen angst" has its limits. AGREED! "Hmmm, what shall we watch? Dawson's Creek, or S1 Dark Angel?" Answer is obvious. So Why da hell did they turn a terrific, deep, meaningful show into a pathetic soap? Crap getting O.T um. . . BTW, Max & Logan are a cute couple. That on-topic nuff Frenchie?

When rumors started floating around today about Jessica and Michael it made me realize that I am a Max and Logan fan first. The reason I starting watching Dark Angel from the beginning was Michael Weatherly. But the reason I kept watching was for Max and Logan. For me the characters come first, then the story. I continued watching S-2, even when I hated it, because of Max and Logan. Simply Max and Logan.

The characters of Max and Logan were a "good fit". Tension, attraction, each moved the other to change for the better.
Not so with the characters of Max and alec or Max and Zach, although both alec and Zach had their place in Max's life, but neither made her a "better person" and neither created the same tension and/or attraction.
How could the writers or "the suits" have missed that?

Max and Logan were two halves of a whole. Each one had the pieces that the other was missing. The whole that was Max and Logan was definitely greater than the sum of the parts
One of the original teasers for the series - the Chemicals one (and the S1 intro ending) said it all: Together who knows.

Only two guys around here? Surrounded by women who like their work? Wyldegod, this is a tough situation and we should consider strategy;) Strategy? How can I plan strategy with all these women around when Star Confiscated my nightstick and handcuffs and disappeared with her clone? That and the Transgenic of the Week format really was a stretch, Borrowed Time was a travesty of interfering in M/L Shipperdom, Gossamer? What's the matter, couldn't they find a Bug-Boy from Manticore that was flying around to terroize the populace? As for the Transgenic of the week format... PFFFFBBBTTT That Gossamer thing pissed me off so much I wanted to throw a brick through my rommates TV screen... fortunately this would have left me with a TV, but I didn't actually have a brick
