Post your thoughts about "Witness" here. There are spoilers posted on NCIS Special Ops, if you're interested.

An itty bitty screencap for 'Witness' from Paramount

I noticed a bit of pattern in comparing previous episodes in that whenever one of the regular cast members shows a liking to someone that either they've ended up dead or were the perp. I liked the interaction between Kate and McGee after Erin died because, Kate showed a softer side with McGee than she does usually and it was nice to hear her use his first name. I also liked how Tony showed some compassion towards McGee and how he got McGee to get his mind back on the case after Erin had died.
I didn't think that Abby was going to get that jealous of Erin, I guess that it's a part of their character's personalities to be jealous from time to time when they're working closely with others. I also liked how Gibbs made the investigator refer to McGee by his name. I was also glad that the perp wasn't a woman this time, but, I thought that perhaps someone in the apartment building was involved. I also liked the use of a hypontist in trying to solve the case and I thought that Gibbs's inital apprehension about that was a classic reaction on his part. I also liked the food fight at the end and how it was used to add some humor in this episode and I liked Gibbs's reaction to the food fight as well, that made laugh as well as the new knowledge that Tony had to rewrite his first report for Gibbs five times. ;D

Okay, I watched my third NCIS episode. I liked it but I thought the killer was predictable. I figured out who it was from the beginning. No really! I did! The strangling and the food fight were pretty funny. I liked Gibbs's canned peas line. Yeah, I'll probably watch it next week.
(Not enough Abby, though.)

Abby's your favorite character huh? I like her too. I think that almost every week that someone's screen time is shorter than the others, this week, I thought that it was Ducky's screen time.

(Not enough Abby, though.) I think we are all waiting for the Abbycentric episode. Eveyone else has had one of their own. Gave 'Witness' an 8/10 at the polling booth over at Special Ops. A good solid ep with lots of great banter.

I thought that Abby had a real role to play and screen time in "Forced Entry", but, I don't know if I'd call that an Abby centric episode though. I think that it will be interesting to see a Kate centric episode, because while we've gotten bits and pieces of her background, I think that a Kate centric episode might explain why she acts like she does in some situations.

I thought Left for Dead was a very Kate-centric episode?

I don't think that Kate has really had an episode where she was the focus yet, I think that she has had episodes where she's had a lot of screen time but, isn't the focus, for the most part I think that she is playing off of someone else and not doing much on her own. I think that she has had a supporting role in solving some of the cases, but, I wouldn't say that she took the lead in an investigation like Tony and McGee have.

Not being a fan of McGee's I found most of this episode boring. However I did like Kate and Tony playing the older siblings role in their teasing of McGee. Also Abby's comment about chatting with urine was funny. I now know where the term red herring comes from. The food fight at the end was good as well.
The police officer was just creepy and I really didn't get the point of the Groundhog Day discussion. There didn't seem to be a reason for it even being there, almost as though they had added it to fill in time. It appears that if Tony isn't at the scene watching your back, you get kidnapped or hit over the hit with a lamp. Did McGee learn nothing from the numerous times Kate has done this?
BRING BACK GERALD. Jimmy Palmer just being in a scene is boring. Bring back the token black guy for God's sake.

I really didn't get the point of the Groundhog Day discussion. There didn't seem to be a reason for it even being there, almost as though they had added it to fill in time. i didn't get that either. but my neighbor explained that the guy tony was talking to is on some sort of entertainment or morning show. there was a contest where he appeared in different primetime shows and you were supposed to call in when you saw him. or something like that. i think mlfan mentioned it on the NCIS board - she may remember. since NCIS is about all i watch, i don't know about stuff like that much. i liked this ep - but i thought it was sad. i think you'll like Pop Life, ER. it was a hoot!

I know that the order of the episodes was changed slightly in the begining of this season and so this episode could've aired later than it was originally planned. I thought that perhaps the writers wanted to incorporate Groundhog Day without making a big deal about it as well. I also thought that the guy Tony was with was a part of some kind of contest because of how he was dressed and Tony strikes me as the kind of guy who would try to get some kind of prize for something like Groundhog Day. I also remember in watching DA that sometimes I felt that there should've been more time passing in between episodes, it was this way for NCIS in this respect because of the Groundhog Day mention.
