Technically this belongs in the "Ice Queen" thread, but I wanted this to go in the most current conversation 'cause it's new. From www.fortunecity.com/victorian/kapoor/22/id126.htm : Question: I LOVED THE ENDING OF THIS EP!! When Rabb told Gibbs to ask him the question, believing the question to be "did you kill her?" and Gibbs asked "would you kill for your brother." OMG!! Great!! Harriet: When I met Michael Weatherly on the set of "Ice Queen" in that wonderful park setting, he told me there was one line in the script that convinced him he had to be a part of it....and that was the line. ;D ;D ;D It also said on that site that if CBS didn't pick the program up then it would be offered to other networks, so I say the odds are well in our favour.

I've watched Meltdown now and, yet again, I'm going to comment on the episode as whole first. I still think it's too early for me to tell how well I'll like NCIS as a series. It takes at least 5 to 6 episodes for me to decide whether I like a show or not, and I don't expect NCIS to be an exception, no matter who happens to be in the cast. But what I have seen so far is promising. Believe it or not, the goth girl character is beginning to grow on me. Her courtroom scene was hilarious and, strangely enough, I like her taste in music. I may visit the shows official site sometime just to find out what she's playing in the lab. And I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I was sorry to see the Lieutenant Singer character go. I won't deny that she was a very unlikeable character, but she was also very complex. She was an ambitious, ruthless and manipulative woman, well practiced at getting the things she wanted in life at all costs. As far as we know, she didn't have a lot of love or friendship in her life. Not because they eluded her, but simply because, in a lot of ways, she simply didn't understand these emotions. I can only imagine what her childhood might have been like to have made her so clueless about such basic human needs. And there were times when she did seem to miss these things and made attempts to try to understand them. But even though she may have been a stranger to love and friendship, she wasn't a stranger to sex, and with multiple partners no less. We still don't know who the father of her baby was, and we may never know. Thus, she has exited the show as much a mystery as when she was introduced. Like her or not, she was an interesting adversary. And if I've learned anything from being a beta for the DA VS3, it's that an action/drama series needs interesting adversaries as much as it needs interesting heroes. Remember Lydecker in S1. Now getting to the MW scenes, I'd have to say my favourite was the interrogation scene he had with the killer. But unlike many of you, I didn't see much of Logan in that scene. Maybe it's just my ability to differentiate an actor's different roles, but all I saw was Tony D., former cop, conducting a cracking interrogation. If nothing else, it showed that underneath the charming and flirtatious exterior lies a keen intelligence. And that's certainly not something I'd be averse to seeing more of.

I have to agree - the interrogation scene wasn't where I saw Logan at all. That was all Tony, and it was a great scene.
It was in the scenes prior to that where he was concentrating on the information they had and working out what really happened that I saw glimpses of Logan. Perhaps it was in the style of the exposition he was giving as he explained things to Viv (who seems singularly clueless for a former FBI agent btw).

And I have to agree with you there about Viv, Star. She seems to be being pegged as the loose cannon on the team, prone to letting her emotions get in the way of an investigation and rushing headlong and half-cocked into situations. But she also seems to be the rookie of the group, being dragged along to see if she'll sink or swim, so maybe she'll learn. At the moment, however, she's just coming across as immature. But to add to what I said before about MW, I have to say kudos on him for the great acting. He seems to have come up with a very different body language for Tony than what he used for Logan. That's one of the things I consider to be a mark of a really good actor, to be able to change one's mannerisms completely from one role to the next.

finally saw the ep. i'm still thrilled that singer is dead ;D the only time she showed a slight human reaction was in "jagathon" when she started crying because she was alone when the others were a tight team. these are the very reasons that made the character as flat as a doormat. with her and lindsey out , that's two weasels out of the box. i remember watching the "hat" switch and wonder "why did they show that ?". very well done . i have to check but i think the NCIS big boss is also the vice president in 24. He's the only actor/character who pronunced Toulon correctly. kudos just for that lol ! i laughed when they showed a map of france in the background and the "circled" part was closer to Bordeaux (south west) than to Toulon (south east). abby's (goth girl) testimony was rather funny, i like her but i hate her red lipstick. vivianne blackadder has got to freaking go !!! moron. for some reason when i hear vivianne i think of "pretty woman" , both red haired. i already loathe the character. the two new jags: the woman make me think of monica (friends) with her suitcase and sharp pencils. organized freak. i didn't feel she was a good lawyer but i sure figured her place was very clean. the guy seem more effective as a lawyer but i didn't feel anything else about his personality. mac callum's character is just blah to me. i'll fast forward his part when the series start. no mac her (or manetti) on the stand would have been better than bud's imo. gibb, still blah but the way he made the terrorist talk about toulon was smooth (and he mentionned harissa ! god that's so good ). the thing that had me cringing though was the obviousness of tony's earpiece (is that even how it's called ?) on the dock. good episode but not a solid one in the JAG's history imo. (yeah yeah i know i'm part of the few who's only reason to watch isn't just MW )

So are the two new lawyers going to be on NCIS or JAG? I'm thinking NCIS right now. Does JAG have room for more? Will this show be played out along similar lines to Law and Order, with a combo of cop-to-courtroom? I'm not sure how I feel about that because all I want is MW SCREENTIME!!! Sound familiar? ;D
Also, do you guys see any forshadowing of a ship? I know it's early but hey that's how my mind works. It could be Viv, but hmmm.....I'm not sure about that. I kinda like the lab girl too....quirky but cute. And then there's this very uptight new lawyer lady. Who knows? Any ideas?

no opinion on the ship. gibb/blackadder would make laugh and hurl for sure lol ! i can't stand "viv". my opinion on what could be NCIS hasn't change : a combo of L&O , CSI & 24. edit : one thing NCIS will need imo is a more diversed cast. we saw an afro american man for a few minutes in the previous ep but this week nada (which is understandable given that his character was more passing by than anything else last week and this week was all about tying plotlines & introducing 2 characters, but still). a NCIS story the show could write about later : story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20030430/wl_mideast_afp/iraq_war_us_warcrimes_030430225603

Have to agree with Frenchie on this one, really cannot stand Viv Blackadder. I really dont think that they handled her introduction very well, they showed too much of her past way too soon, the whole death of her brother thing, is something that i think should have been left till the actuall NCIS thing started up if it gets picked up that is. And as for Abbey, i would like to put it forth that she is infact NOT goth, she is gosher ;D ;D

Well I totally agree with Frenchie 100%. This show needs a more diverse cast. I also am in the Blackadder must go camp. She is very very annoying. Maybe Gibbs will push her out of a helicopter before they reach land!!!!

Count me in the Bye Bye Blackkader camp LOL ;D ;D The helicopter idea sounds good to me. And I agree they need to diversify the cast - dunno tho look at JAG - pretty white bread from the little I've seen.

I'm very curious about this Viv Blackadder person. If she is annoying most of you and about 500 members of the JAG and NCIS forums, she must be doing something right. Why do you think the infamous Don Bellasarious (sp) wrote her part in such a way? Why doesn't that Gibbs get rid of her? If he is such a hot shot he shouldn't want a liability on his team. Hmmmm. She seems to be cute, with that hair and that little nose, so that was important to the role also? Why?? I ask why?? These are the questions you should be asking? Since I've never seen JAG and cannot watch the NCIS eps until after May 19, I don't even know what I'm talking about. But that has never stopped me before.

I'm thinking it's deliberate - every team has to have the irritating screw up - guess that's going to be Blakkader's role. Shrugs. Better her than Tony. LOL. ;D Abby is certaily a cutie, so its not like they can't write a sympathetic female character if they want. I'm just hoping it's not a lame attempt to create a chemistry between Viv and Gibbs - kind of the "fighting as foreplay" idea becase imo there is no chemistry there whatsoever. And I also hope they aren't trying to imply something for her on Tony's part - he has made a couple of comments to her or about her. Eeek. Nothing really there either. (Not like I'm prejudiced or anytnhing )

(Not like I'm prejudiced or anytnhing ) I can't see Tony with Viv either, or with Abby, for that matter. His chemistry with both of them, so far, seems more brotherly than romantic, despite the flirting. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say they're going to keep his options open for a while, leaving the door open for possible complicated guest star entanglements.

Oh man, looks like most of us don´t like the Viv character and that after only 2 episodes... too bad she won´t go away ;D I can´t even imagine what will happen on the NCIS MBs if Tony and Viv hook up, that´ll be worse than this whole Max/Logan/alec triangle thingy...OMG! Oh, and I also like Abby, but I don´t see her as a possible love interest for Tony, she looks/ acts too immature. maybe she´ll totally fall in love with Tony and he´ll just treat her like a friend, poor Abby I don´t really like the Gibbs character, he´s pretty obnoxious and acts like an a..hole most of the time. I´m sure they´ll make him more likeable soon enough but I don´t know if I´d really liek him. It´s the same with CSI´s Grissom. He remains a mystery and after a while you just feel sorry for him cause he can´t show any emotions.
