Maria, please post more about your weather.
Most of us in the lower 48 can't imagine what it's like in the Upper 1.
Congrats on getting internet in your own place.

Almost double that temp here in Los Angeles the last couple days. YUCK!!! Now we are up to mid 60sF in the day and mid 40sF and 19.5 hours sunlight. Just about perfect except for the mosquitos. [or if you have allergies to trees, which I don't seem to have] Safe to put the plants outside. Last summer the highest temp was 89F, which was still tolerable for me since it is low humidity and almost always a breeze. The only time it was a problem was in the car with the windows making that dreaded terrarium/green house effect. ps- I'm in Fairbanks, which is in the middle. Further south, like Valdez and Juneau, is warmer, and up north, like Kotzebue, and farthest North, Barrow [in the Arctic Circle], is colder. Fairbanks is a desert, so it is very dry, which adds to the tendency for forest fires in the summer. The plus to that is in the winter the snow is dry, so there isn't a lot of slush and mush like back East. The snow looks a lot like dandelion fluff and blows away [though I've learned snow looks different depending on the temperature].

Well the temp has gone down but now it's but there are no clouds in the sky. Kind of weird, usually it only gets windy during a storm or with the Santa Anas which are normally warmer than normal temps. Cooler + clear + windy + dzero =

Ah, summer is here. Time to go out and... What's that? It's going to be 106 here today? Guess I'll stay inside and hide from the heat.

106 Quadruple YUCK!!!!
the only other acceptable thing to do [if you can get out before it actually reaches 106] is go somewhere and soak up their A/C - movies, mall, library, freezer section of the grocery store :-P
sending you Cool, happy thoughts - like our 70F, nice breezes, and 21 hours of sunlight! Tomorrow is summer solstice festival and the midnight sun 10k and baseball game [at midnight]!

the Dragonfly Festival and Summer Soltice Festival were fun, but hot for me 81F [though still nice breezes]. The plus is the mosquitos aren't out in the heat. Grabbed dinner than will go back out to cheer on the runners in a little while [their route goes past where we live].
