OK so it happened again last night, something happened in the ep that I just couldn't get over ( a little thing like solving the global energy crisis ) and I realised it's not them it's me. I just shouldn't be watching the show if I am going to be so picky about every little thing so.... kind of think I'm done . Maybe if there is some super cool Ziva heavy ep you all can let me know and I'll check it out, otherwise think I'm done.

I'm not going to go into all the parts that bothered me about that plot on the factual level and on the level of their attitudes and I guess you can't expect TV to be realistic... but this was just so sloppily done. Especially Abby, I'd expect her to be far more knowledgable about stuff like that. Normally I can ignore the plot, but this 'taking a trendy topic and messing up / dumbing it down beyond recognition' pretty much kept me from enjoying the episode.

I hate when the writers have such a low opinion of their audience -- unless it's that they have such little understanding of the whole concept that they believed what they wrote. (which would launch a debate about only writing what you know, then asking how you know what you don't know, which all just leads to a headache. ) Was kinda fun (in a geeky, demented way) to follow a site like Special Ops, back when people actually came on to discuss the eps (they've been run off there, too : -- NCIS covers so many different fields and areas of expertise, in the past couple years nearly every show has brought on a rant from someone who is knowledgeable in the field and who caught some serious errors. (Law enforcement, military info, medical, legal, etc etc...) Maybe the writers have some internal yardstick they use when they want to shoehorn some plot device in, but think it would take too much time and/or be too "hard" to be realistic -- as in, "if only 20% or less of our audience will know it's wrong, we're okay." What happened to having some experts/advisors on call? With the status they've reached, they could afford one now & then!

I think that for a show that is attempting to be realistic that in this episode that it really went out the window. I really like Abby but, I would've expected her to know more about the topics that were discussed than she did. I also think that the writers and the powers that be seem to have better plotlines and overall episodes for the sweeps minus for me "Angel Of Death" but when an episode is not airing during the sweeps that it is very much hit or miss a lot of the time.
