Who do you like this year - besides Spikeloud.I know ML Fan and dzero listen to a lot of music - what about the rest of you. Tonight I'm listening to The Hollies. I know this will probably not be widely disseminated through the local music dept faculty .. but .. The Hollies were inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame tonight. Their music is so danceable www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP94PlEtsEQ I was born too late for all the great rock and roll. sighhhhh

I love Shane MacGowan - I'm listening to him singing Cracklin' Rosie.
I saw him once on TV and he was falling down drunk and still sang great.

When it comes to good Irish Rock you can't beat the Pogues. My three favorite Celtic rock songs of all time would have to be 1. The Killdares Farewell to Decorum unfortunately I could only find live recordings and the song itself doesn't start till after the 1 minute long bagpipe solo. To hear a better quality version of the song CLICK HERE and then just click to play the mp3 Farewell to Decorum from the list. (A Trip to Miss is the only other song on there thats really worth hearing IMO) 2. Dropkick Murphys I'm Shipping up to Boston3. The Pogues Body of an American which as AngelZ will learn has a very special significance on The Wire. As for none Celtic music I've recently been listening to the Silversun Pickups alot as well as a new duo called Broken Bells composed of the lead singer of the Shins and the genius best known as DJ DangerMouse who is perhaps best known for his Grey Album and his role in Knarles Barkley. Broken Bells is more like the Shins though, very melodic alt-rock.

So I was just stumbling around iTunes looking for a Prodigy song and I stumbled onto what the iTunes Store calls an iMix, its basically a privately compiled track listing that can be published. Well I found one with the majority of songs from Chuck called Chuck from NBC. I gotta admit Josh Schwartz is kinda like the TV version of Quentin Tarantino with his 'movie mixtapes.' Though Schwartz is probably a Starbucks-ed version considering how indie-rock heavy it is how many songs their are. Even the goofy ones I'd be ashamed to have on my iPod are kinda fun in an homage to the generation that grew up in the 80's and 90's.

Does anyone here use Spotify? Just trying it out because I heard it had pretty much every song ever recorded in it's library but I can't find hardly anything Is there some trick to the search feature? P.S. I'm loving that new Chili Peppers song, mostly because the guitar sounds like George Harrison used to sound and it just makes me happy to hear that on the radio
