Just peeping in to tell you all how much I love this story. I can't believe I would start a fic that's not completed and I can't believe I started reading fan fiction again, after two long years. You guys are magic. You guys miss some delicious stuff when you don't look around the Board.

I still can't get over two years!
I tried to go four days once on a long weekend away. By the third night I was having trouble sleeping because the withdraw was so bad and I was scribbling story outlines onto hotel stationary to try and make the shakes go away...

I was scribbling story outlines onto hotel stationary to try and make the shakes go away... I hope you tore out that fic-covered stuff (stationary = fixed stuff? Wall-paper and such?) and brought it with you. ;D Or we could all travel there and do a hotel room-wall round robin... ;D

Think yourself lucky it was only four days; I'm going on a four week field trip next Saturday. In a youth hostel. With no internet access. No fic. At all. For a whole month. (Chews fingernails). Don't be surprised if I come back drooling on the keyboard with the plot for a new DA story biro'd all over my body. BTW, well done guys, I've been copying every post of our story into a word document and we're up to 25 pages (in 10pt) already!

Four weeks?
Who'll leave us danglin' on the edge of a cliff while you're away?

So Bling took off with Zack after Max and the girls to get in their way and steal the show, but they only made it three blocks before they ran out of gas...
(Why did I know that Shy wouldn't let me leave him behind?)

(Why did I know that Shy wouldn't let me leave him behind?) Yeah, what's up with leaving Bling behind, anyway? You know in your heart he wouldn't take that lying down. (And anyway, I like to think of it as giving the next writer options: who's to say that Anderson & his boys don't still have that Anti-X-5 airhorn they used earlier, and they need Bling to save the day? Or was it another one of those one-shot weapons, too? )Yay, Bling! ;D

Just a fic-related thought (probably directed primarily at Mari & Lisa! ;D) Tell me this isn't the perfect picture: ... just put a pair of little round glasses on our boy ... then change the blue denim shirt (after lingering for a respectable period without, of course) for a flannel one... Viola! MW becomes Logan Cale becomes Robert Eastman... (And thanks to Blue for sharing this a few days ago so I could steal MW for Asylum! )

Oh, man! For those of you fic writers who suffer the same embarrassing tendency I do to want their characters to go on forever, you've got to read this! tinyurl.com/22y8w5It's an article in "the Onion" which, for those of you not familiar with it, is a parody site, a fake newspaper that calls itself "America's Finest News Source." The language gets a bit coarse, but if you find yourself not letting your characters die off no matter what they get into, you may find this sounding uncomfortably familiar and, I hope, while you're laughing at the same time!

Somebody should e-mail this article to ITL. It may have an opposite effect on her and cause her to show the occasional mercy to our long-suffering, endangered protagonists. ;D While I'm off on this tangent that has nothing to do with the round robin story...There's a serious trend right now to kill off all the main characters before you let a fandom die. I mean, tonight's Sopranos? Will any of them be left standing? And the newest Harry Potter book...even money she kills him off in the end. I think that one of the reason artists are killing off their creations at the end of the fandom is because of us, the fanfic writers. It's the best way to insure that their creations won't be continued by somebody else. Think about it, the ultimate creative control... Thus ends my random thought that nobody else cares about. Off to read Shy's new moosh and think of a clever way for Max to save Logan from the Reds...

MW becomes Logan Cale becomes Robert Eastman... And what about the stubble? ;D Or is the clean-shaven look another part of the disguise? I think Lisa might not agree with that… There's a serious trend right now to kill off all the main characters before you let a fandom die. You mean as in opposed to introducing viruses, breeding cults and chimera-freaks? But couldn’t killing of the characters end in just the opposite of control, triggering more fic of upset fans? Interesting topic. ;D think of a clever way for Max to save Logan from the Reds... Oh, me too, for days… or more exactly thinking about a fighting scene without success so far (all these years of Karate for nothing )

While I'm off on this tangent that has nothing to do with the round robin story... Given how assiduously I follow thread topics , I'd better check: this is a thread for writers to take a break (and discuss) only the current round robin? Don't we need a general hang-out for discussion of fic-writing life in general? Or-- do we need a general hang-out for discussion of fic-writing life in general? And what about the stubble? ;D Or is the clean-shaven look another part of the disguise? Sure looks a little stubbly to me... look in the right side; maybe the left is washed out a little in the sunlight (or is it only my delusional Loogie goggles that make him look stubbly? ;D (and thanks for providing the cheap excuse to repost this wonderful pic! )

One shot of suspense with extra cliffiness, as ordered, Lisa. ;D ;D ;D
Now that should get some responses coming!
