The last Logan and Max Fanfiction Foundation thread is a little full, so here's a new thread. Continue discussions about Logan and Max Fanfiction Foundation here.

OK. I realize that it appears that we have all been slacking (and well, yes we have ... but it is not as bad as it appears ... honest!) Most of the peeps that frequent fanfiction.net have been posting like crazy in the Blah, Blah, Woof, Woof forum. The short version of the story is that there were a bunch of whack forums so Mia (Hooray for Mia!!, Mia is RT4ever over on fanfiction.net right?? yeah, I knew that. ;D ) started one for the Max and Logan shippers. And it has over 625% more posts than all the other DA forums combined. One of the things that was brought up there is a 'book club' only instead of books, DA stories. I suppose we could do an episode as well, but the idea is to talk about the fanfiction. I cannot post links in that forum, so I am posting this here. I swear, I googled 'Book club how to' and this was the first hit: www.spl.org/default.asp?pageID=collection_discussiongroup_howtosIt is the Seattle Public Library!!!

Great idea, everything for more M/L ;D Thanks, that answers my question of what exactly a book club is. They have some interesting suggestions there, too: For example what book is worth discussing: “it explores basic human truths. Good books for discussion have three-dimensional characters who are forced to make difficult choices, under difficult situations, whose behavior sometimes makes sense and sometimes doesn't.” I guess DA fic fits these criteria… ;D Or that one: „Will you serve food?“ So, how do you exactly think this works with DA fiction?

I was stuck in traffic and happened to hear that. It was very interesting and I thought of you M/L writers. It's a very complimentary interview and you should all be proud of yourselves. Heck, I'm proud of all of you and I don't have time to read the stories. Since anticipation is 1/3 of everything I've got that covered.

Dusting out this topic, peeps-- it's been a while. When Reilyn started the first Foundation thread, she described its purpose as follows:
The primary purpose of this thread is to encourage M/L Fanfiction. The other primary purpose is for our enjoyment and amusement. By ‘our’ I mean all the loony M/L shippers on this board.
We are going to encourage M/L Fanfiction by stirring the imaginations of authors and encouraging new authors to actually write and post the stories that we know are floating around in their heads. So, this is as good a place as any to continue a discussion that Mari & I have been having for a while, along with others along the way: most recently Mari described it in her latest chapter of "Questions" (read it!! Chapter 3) as Logan's losing his "Romeo side" while he's in the chair. We've been discussing what he meant when he asked Max, in Female Trouble, if it was easier for her with him in the chair; Mari has Max asking Logan why he is different on his feet than he was in front of the mirror. Several explanations have been offered and some reasons given, but if anyone ever doubted that it was Logan who was responsible for the change, just take another look: What would Original Cindy say? "Boy's a doggy dog, f' sure..."Other than a moment or two in "Flushed," the boy didn't even begin to get that sort of look on his scruff until he was on his feet! Mind over matter, Loogie!! ...so now all get thee hence and write... (yeah, busted: the whole lecture was just a cheap way to get these pix up again...! ;D)

Dusting out this topic, peeps-- it's been a while. You’ll need this little guy of yours for all this dust here from three months of not posting... Maybe we could find a way to lure some of the new M/L authors at FFnet over here…? AND of course a way to make some of the recently pretty quiet writers here to neglect their busy real life for writing and discussion… ;D We've been discussing what he meant when he asked Max, in Female Trouble, if it was easier for her with him in the chair; … and the question of how much Logan was aware of his good looks in the Pilot: What did his attractiveness mean for his confidence and did he use his good looks as a means to an end? Any ideas anyone? (yeah, busted: the whole lecture was just a cheap way to get these pix up again...! ;D) Hey, anything is allowed for getting more fics, right…? ;D

A lame trial to reawaken this thread with a weird idea that has been going around in my head this week (probably triggered by the tons of Christmas stuff everywhere ): How about a kind of Dark Angel Advent Calendar, with DA-related stuff instead of sweets of course? No idea if Advent Calendars are a tradition outside of Christian-dominated Germany ? Of course it would be crazy and impossible to provide something for each day (though maybe the people with all this nice screencaps could give us a Logan-photo of the day ;D), but maybe once a week, like an advent wreath? So, if either anybody felt inspired to write something (Christmas related or not, maybe using one of the many challenges) or intended to post stories / chapters (or videos) in that time anyway it just could be declared to be an advent surprise... Okay, decidedly lame idea and not thought out well at all, but it’s so quiet around here… (Have to state that I hate Word for suddenly changing my keyboard into English setting, totally confusing me with letters and signs being not were they're supposed to be )

(and no idea where my completely non-German family got it, but Advent calendars -- always those made in Germany, mind you-- were a big deal in our house when we were kids, and my mother still sends them to us adult kids!) Any chance of signing up people to take the 24 days leading into Christmas Eve, with the assigned person for each date dropping off their surprise here on their designated day(s)? As you said, could be a photo or story, some nifty little bit of DA... Maybe, as quiet as it's been, more lead time would have been needed to do it this way... but great idea! Certainly there are ways to meet this challenge!

German really? Hmm okay gonna have to boost that nationality up on my list, certainly loved those as a kid (okay yea probably gonna do it this year, just like I do it every year, though now I end up playing catch up with a week's worth at a time). Definitely moving Hungarian out of its third place spot, no way can goulash and the weird prune cookies I'm subjected to beat out the advent calendar, in which wars were sparked when someone took your day to do it. Very nice idea Mari!

No idea if Advent Calendars are of German origin (think so with Christmas trees). (And weird Hungarian prune cookies? Never heard of them. : Nice enough that you might consider joining? Please? ;D Maybe FFnet lets you add your chapter on Friday /1.12. (or, written in the American way, 12. 1, I guess) ? Other people with possible advent-presents?

Yup and I've complained about this before, but it's not gonna stop me from complaining about it again. Why do people review your story with question (aka criticisms) and don't sign in? The most annoying this is having an answer back and not being able to say it!!!

The most annoying this is having an answer back and not being able to say it!!! A good writer needs to have telepathic abilities to communicate with her readers. May I ask you (and everyone else) a question? Would you generally equate questions in reviews with criticism? Or only if people disrespect basic politeness or are demanding? It’s seriously stupid to use LEO / online dictionary and stare at the results wondering “Something is wrong here… but what?” and then go “Oh, this is French”. Even more stupid if it happens regularly)

Kind of off-topic, but someone reminded me to say... Griever’s As Normal as it gets won the monthly prompt challenge poll over at RH. Congratulations and Nutella cake! I’ve been thinking… since M/L writers won the first two polls, maybe we could try to continue this series. Of course first of all that would mean to make sure that at least one M/L story / writer participates in the challenge… Or is this too much aggressive enemy-invasion thinking?
