Okay, I figure if threads crash around page 10 or 12, then we need a new thread -- the old one is on p. 27! Most of you have probably heard about this, with all the hype, but the Independent Film Channel is starting a six part series tomorrow night, called Monty Python: Almost the Truth (the Lawyer's Cut). The first installment is at 8 PM EST, followed by Live at the Hollywood Bowl (classic!). The same night, they're also showing a "making of the documentary" documentary and an ep of the original Monty Python Series. The series episode guide is www.ifc.com/monty-python-almost-truth-lawyers-cut/episode-guide.php and the home page for the festivities is www.ifc.com/monty-python-almost-truth-lawyers-cut/ . They're making a week of it, showing MP movies, series eps, as well as installments of the 6 hour/6 part documentary. Happy 40th anniversary, Pythons! ~ ~ (bloody Vikings!)

If the are showing The Holy Grail then I'll watch that too but I'll probably skip all the retrospective stuff. Now since shywriter gave us a recomendation how bout one for her? Last night and repeating the rest of the weekend was the excellent season finale for Psych. Lots of Henry in this one , even have multiple lessons for young Sean instead of the normal one at the beginning.

I'm not too far behind then, am I? (really regretting I ever mentioned being impressed that Corbin Bernsen could happily go from leading man to aging papa... )

Well he does have a girlfriend now but she's not in the ep. this is also the first time we have ever seen where he lives. You would have thought I would give it up by now huh? ;D ;D ;D But seriously it's a good ep.

Psych season finale? That seems to have come around waaay too fast! I wonder if I should savour it by forgetting that I have it and watching it in 2 months time? *** Re the MM podcast MrTV, yes they do discuss 'the look' - although there was no agreement as to what it meant. Initially I thought it meant that their baby died, but one view was that as 'men' the guard was unable to admit that he had shared a moment or bond with Don and therefore couldn't look him in the eye...or something like that. The people on the podcast are much cleverer than I will ever be. They often discuss the underlying themes of each episode. For example, The Fog was about being trapped or imprisoned (thus also the significance of the expecting dad's profession). Each of the main characters was somehow trapped in their life. One question I have about a past episode - was Gene attempting to slowly kill himself by eating the salt with the ice cream? Was he trying to have another stroke? * The sound quality of the podcast is much better from The Fog onwards. Previous episodes are a bit garbled.

Psych season finale? That seems to have come around waaay too fast! I wonder if I should savour it by forgetting that I have it and watching it in 2 months time? They usually do a Christmas ep so that should be in about two months with new eps in January. So I would say go ahead and watch the finale, besides I want to talk about it with somebody . Yeah there was a lot of talk about maybe the baby had died but the general consensus was that the mother holding the baby was smiling/or looked peaceful so no dead baby. A lot of people saying that it was because he the guard already realised his promises of being a better man were BS. I tend to be in the camp of people who think it was him the guard being ashamed/embarrassed of having been so emotionally vulnerable/intimate with another man. Might even be a little class system anxiety mixed in there as well. What are you trying to do? give me a stroke? I had successfully blocked that disgusting scene from my memory and now you have brought it back and I fear there shall be no getting rid of it now. oh the horror of watching that creepy old man put S-A-L-T on damn Ice Cream. how could you forget that? one of the best scenes of the whole series! oh and spoiler...the shoe box makes an appearance in the new ep

I gotta say I'm kinda glad NBC is getting its butt kicked over the Jay Leno fiasco. I like Leno but the fact that NBC screwed over several promising shows for him and now its biting them in the @ss is just so rewarding. Now if there really is justice in the world at somepoint they'll cancel Leno and run reruns of Kings and Southland in its place and if those did better than Leno I would laugh till i cried. If they had put Kings in a slot where it could succeed that show could have been something special and while I still think Southland is a cheap knock off of the Wire it was one of the best things NBC had going for it and they killed it off too.

besides I want to talk about it with somebody . OK MrTV, lets talk The last two episodes have been amazing. The show just keeps getting better and better. I love the way they they have handled the Abigail/Shawn/Juliet triangle - its always there, but so subtle, just on a really slow burn. So many fantastic moments Shawn googling mentalistspoilers.com ;D ;D ;D Shawn lives in an old drycleaners and has his own popcorn machine. OK I'll be Paul Walker ;D ;D ;D The list goes on and on and on *** Sal Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Are we ever going to see Joan again? I hate Connie! I think I'm beginning to hate Don Do these people have a problem with being faithful? Mmmm shoebox? Sounds interesting. *** Me too!!! Not only did the show effect NBC shows, but their reshuffle affected the scheduling of the other networks too.

I love the way they they have handled the Abigail/Shawn/Juliet triangle - its always there, but so subtle, just on a really slow burn. Agreed, other TV shows could take a lesson from them in how they have handled a lead character entering a relationship. Their best mentalist jab yet IMO. ;D This could have been goofy but I think it worked because the show so often references detective/action movies from the 80's and in so many of those movies/TV shows the lead characters often lived in some place goofy like that. More interesting to me was Gus's reference that he'd only been there like 6 months, meaning he is still moving around all the time just confining it to Santa Barbara. ;D And actually shooting a gun I wonder if we will see either of them again? I think the show will suffer without them in the long run. They have continued to bring in supporting characters but none are as interesting as these two. you are not alone I can think of a certain Gace Kelly look alike who might agree with you. ;D

Betty Draper please meet Dick Whitman I might be getting a little obsessed with the show, I was just checking out the Don Draper wikipedia page, they have sections titled "biography" "Korean War" "Life as Donald Draper" "personality" and "Draper's women" the Drapers women section is twice as long as any other. btw after last nights episode the timeline of the show is now Novemember 1963.....

I'm 2 eps behind...on purpose. Going away this weekend and I plan to load them onto my iPhone for a little 'light' entertainment. While I don't want to be spoiled I simply have to know - is there any sight of Joan or Sal's return?

www.thrfeed.com/2009/10/nbc-considering-more-chuck-.htmlOctober 28, 2009 UPDATE: NBC ordering more 'Chuck'! UPDATE: NBC is ordering six more episodes of "Chuck" from Warner Bros. That's in addition to the 13 already ordered. The network has not yet confirmed, but sources say this is a "done deal." The original plan was for "Chuck" to return in March. Now sources say "Chuck" will likely return in January and will be partnered with "Heroes" on Monday nights. As part of this plan, NBC will not order any more episodes of "Trauma."
