I have four, didn't even realize it. okay okay With reload blue circle-arrow, then Home (little house symbol) Address bar (space) My fourth bar is the Google Tool Bar - the best google device yet. You can always skip that and just use Bookmarks but who would want to do that. I've never seen that one. Mr.Clark or/and Herumor - a little help here. The firefox download thingie is excellent. Most of the time.

Soon after this thread was started I gave firefox a try ( basically just so I could be one of the gang ;D ) and I loved it, you all were right a million times better than IE. I've been using 3.2 and been happy but Have been getting prompted to update to a new version and finally it just started to do it on it's own . dzero, you're my hero -- I had been looking for this thread maybe 48 hours ago, literally, & the Firefox info I thought I'd remembered here (I blame sleep deprivation for not finding it! ) I've used & liked Firefox since its inception -- but like you, have been prompted to update in the last week or so, & I thought I remembered a couple peeps out there complaining about it a couple months back. So thanks for getting this started, dzero, & thanks to everyone for their input-- I'm taking notes this time!

This is my third day on FireFox 3.5.1 and it's working fine. I use a program called GoToMyPC.com for conferencing with clients, although they prefer me in person, so my browser is very important.

I've used GoToMyPC.com for a few years and it's been perfectly safe. I trust Trend Micro PC-cillin to keep me safe. However, I use a router as a hardware firewall as extra protection. And I use a separate computer for my business. No hanky panky with Logan or Tony on that comp.

I'm pretty sure that's not optional, but can't really remember how it looked on the original FF theme; I've been using the same customized theme for almost four years now . I don't think you can get rid of it, though. Where I usually had the bookmarks tab (and your Google Tool Bar, Aerie) I now have icons from my (many) plug ins, so maybe I'm not the one to give advice here; plus, I'm using a 22" screen, so things look different. You might try some themes, you might find one that works for you, or a plung in that lets you customize your FF. Sorry, that's the best I can think of now

With reload blue circle-arrow, then Home (little house symbol) Address bar (space) yes or you could just skip the google tool bar and skip the bookmarks bar as well

Sorry, that's the best I can think of now yes that's it, called the tab bar I got rid of it so all is well with the world Thanks for letting me vent a little and even get called a hero for doing it got rid of it by going to tools + options + tabs + uncheck "always show tab bar" , when I first tried to get rid of it I was only right clicking the bar itself as well as the other bars up top since you know that's where you are supposed to be able to do everything with the different bars . Anyways all better now

Whoa I'm kinda shocked that you hate the bars so much. The bookmarks toolbar and the tab tool bar are two of my favorite firefox features. I also got the Smart Bookmarks Toolbar add on that reduces the size of the bookmarks to just the little thumbnail icon so I can have like 30 or so of them on there. I've also got 4 RSS feeds pinned up on that bookmarks tool bar.
Granted stuff like a Yahoo and AOL toolbar are just obnoxious but the tabbed browsing and bookmarks are fantastic.

I have to agree, there's tons of things on my tool bar. download managers, Autopager, translation programs...oh, and a player for LastFM, my favorite toy now ;D

Whoa I'm kinda shocked that you hate the bars so much. I'm on a laptop so any clutter on the screen just drives me crazy. I want a clean simple interface. For about 10 minutes now I have been using Opera. They have been 10 of the best minutes I've spent online . So far I love this thing.

Opera has some nice features and the styling and layout are quite nice. The fact that it crashed whenever it came across plug-in's that it wasn't familiar with proved to be a bit of an Achilles heal, however.

I'm still using opera and love it though I read online that chrome has done a new major update that people love, maybe I'll give it a try . Anyways where I read about that update they had a poll for who uses which browser and one of the options was netscape which prompted this reply ... "who is the one person who still uses netscape? i thought that died with jfk jr." ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
