Oh and my big baby just turned 10. Am I feeling old or what!!! Can someone please tell the youth of today to stop growing up so fast.

I've got Verizon so I had to settle for this but I think if I could I'd have rather had the iPhone. So far I'm digging this storm tho I haven't completely figured it out.

So far I'm digging this storm tho I haven't completely figured it out. I got the Blackberry Bold a couple weeks ago -- way down on my preference list but 1) the office has a Blackberry server and we can run everything through it, with instant PDA updates when our desktop calendars are updates, etc, and the office pays our monthly data fees. Downside -- it HAS to be a Blackberry. I have a hunch that Blackberry, like microsoft, IPod, etc, benefits from the name recognition which drives up demand, which in turn drives up prices -- all when there are actually better products out there for lower $$$; 2) No Verizon here (the only provider with the Storm? at least the one anywhere close); there's an Alltel that wll be converted to Verizon "in a few months" but until then, no Storm in my service area -- I'm already with AT & T and the Bold is the nearest they have to the Storm, IPhone, etc; 3) I wanted at least the Bold; I had a Cingular Treo clone for about 4 (or more?) years with a touch screen I really loved. I still like the browser & everything else NON-Blackberry, but this Bold was inevitable. I'm getting used to it... ... especially being able to watch full length episodes of NCIS (and other shows -- Psych's in there --) any time, anywhere!

I got both seasons for $89 NZ money sent over from the USA. Thats why I get my DVD boxsets from Amazon.com

You talking about going to Hulu or someplace like that? I've spent the majority of the past 5 hours playing around with it and my only real complaints are that compared to an iPhone there's not much in the way of Apps or 3rd party add ons for it but nothing really compares to the iPhone in that department. The only thing I'm leery about is the battery life, when your fiddling with stuff none stop it does seam to hamper that fairly quick, but i suppose thats the case with all of the seriously-smart phones. I have to say the email and instant messaging is pretty simple and more intuitive than I had expected being new to the world of Blackberries and all. The web browser is a little annoying sometimes but its still better than the only other handheld device I've had to browse the web which was a PSP. Aren't all electronics crazy expensive over there? I want a iphone, but over here they cost around $1260. Ouch!! And here I was complaining that it costs 650U$S here, through one of the major cell carriers of course. An unlocked I Phone can go as high as 1000$. Guess I'll have to stop whining now... ;D

What are you talking about with the TV stuff? You talking about going to Hulu or someplace like that? No -- this may be an AT& T thing -- in the prepackaged menu, in the downloads menu they have a subfile called "cellular video." That goes to a menu with both clips & full length shows you can watch, all free (this part does look like a mini Hulu sort of listing). Several networks have shows there. NCIS's most recent broadcast is available in its entirety, so it changes each week (I'm assuming on Wed.) They have some clips too (as they do on the CBS site.) Unfortunately, since it's a work-related brower the fun sites like Hulu are blocked -- you'd think they didn't trust us not to goof off on company equipment or something.

Although this makes me feel a bit less bad about spending the crazy amount of 80-something € for the first season of DA.

Must be an ATnT thing because I'm pretty sure I haven't got it. The one video my phone came with was the trailer for Babylon AD maybe the worst movie of the year! Thanks for f*cking nothing Verizon!!!!!!!! I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy to drunk for 6pm. Funny thing was it wasn't even a mardi gras thing. FYI Be very careful about your alchohol intake when watching a Manchester United game with a half a dozen Irishmen.

I loved my old Blackberry and spent a couple of months contemplating whether to upgrade to the BB Bold (Storm's too expensive down here) or switch to the iPhone (and ditch my iPod). shywriter once you get the hang of the BB you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. I used to walk around with bits of note paper in my pocket and bag trying to keep track of the kids/our playdates, parties, haircuts, phone no's etc - having an electronic calendar in my pocket which sync'd with my PC changed my life. Mr AZ has the same system on his work BB so I'd just email him the calendar update so we never had to have the 'but you never told me that' conversation again. My old BB was an 8500 so didn't have a camera or any of the cool toys that are standard now. I can still sync my calendars but I now use iCal. While it's not quite as convenient for sending updated appointments to Mr AZ, it is a lot easier to use and read. The calendar on the iPhone works much better on than it did on my old BB. (Of course I don't know what improvements were made on the Bold and Storm). The beauty of the BB emailing system is that it truncates the data, making emails very small and fast. The big fear with using the iPhone for email is that the data packets are the same as you would receive on your PC/Mac - so I'm waiting to see if I'm going to need to purchase an additional data block on my contract. The internet is so damn easy to use on the iPhone that it's scary. From a cost point of view I think the iPhone will actually end up being cheaper than the BB The cost to purchase additional data blocks (say 1 GB) for the iPhone is much cheaper than the cheapest BB email package. Michelle why would you buy one outright? On a 24mth contract my phone is only going to cost me around $AU312 (so I'm getting a new iPod and phone for less than buying an iPhone touch. (Mr AZ gets my old iPod nano and we all win). I'm on about the lowest phone package (I'm more of an emailer than a phone user), but if I was on a higher $ contract they'd give me the phone for free. It took a while, but the telco's finally came up with some decent packages for the iPhone. My understanding is that they've 'selling' them below cost just so they don't lose customers. Maybe that will happen in NZ too? Too true - and the change in the exchange rate between the $US + $AU is killing me. Like Michelle I too try to buy all of my DVD's from the US. It's more of a content issue than cost issue for me. It bugs me that the Region 4 (and 2) DVD's are always missing most of the special extra's. All my DA DVD's are Region 4 (Mr AZ tried hard) but I wish they were R1 with the extras . Can you believe that we didn't even get the commentary's?!!!
