The plots are all alike - someone gets murdered - a woman is the killer and that's it.
I watch for the characters. I haven't seen Murder 2.0 and Collateral Damage yet, but I'm sure my cutie patootie will make me happy.
Yes, of course, but you have the rest of us with you in your idiocy.
Well, I'm not sure about Mr.C. yet.

Not sure if you're idiotic enough to join us in our idiocy.
Or something like that.

I love how that quote comes right in the middle of a nearly third of a season long running story line, just after nearly 3 seasons worth of running sub plots.
While on the one hand I am hugely happy for the show and its creators, not to mention thrilled that the House producers and writers are getting a much needed wake up call, I do think people are getting excited too soon. Pretty soon American Idol is going to be coming back and while I would love to see Harmon and co. take down the mighty Simon and his band of carolers I fear its to tall a task. NCIS will come back to earth once AI starts in January or whenever it is. I just hope CBS keeps there attitude of not really trying to take down AI and just taking what they can get in that time slot, after all thats what kept NCIS running before things picked up.
I think if the franchised it they'd be wise to go with Army CID as opposed to just another NCIS team. Altho I'd really be worried if somebody was considering doing a spin off where DiNozzo was the big dog and got his own team somewhere else.

NCIS is one of the few shows on any network that has consistently done well against "American Idol", if "NCIS's" ratings were taking a big hit due to "American Idol" I believe that CBS would've moved "NCIS" to another timeslot, but, that has never happened and now for the time being there is even an "NCIS" repeat on Friday nights that has helped CBS in what is a difficult timeslot. I think that the only show that Fox has anything invested in is "American Idol" and even then the ratings for it were down last season in comparison to years past and I think at least CBS is making an effort to have programming that geared towards viewers who aren't into reality show programming, but, I cannot say the same Fox and its programming.

Saying NCIS does 'well' against AI is speaking relatively by comparing it to those that have tried and failed. It up against a juggernaut and it doesn't fail but at the same time it hasn't blown anybody away either, at least not till now. If that were the case articles like the one you posted wouldn't exist as it would have been getting this kind of praise 3 or 4 years ago. I wouldn't exactly say CBS is better than Fox when it comes to reality TV either because CBS has the Amazing race (which it claims is the highest watched realty program on TV) and the godfather of all reality TV shows Survivor, hell they even have the American Big Brother.

I think that a lot of shows on other networks have tried to compete with "American Idol" and failed and that Fox relies way too heavily on "American Idol and other reality programming for its ratings and while yes, CBS does have reality programming it has more diverse programing than Fox does. I think that at least CBS is realistic as far as the ratings of shows going up against "American Idol" and that TPTB is obviously happy that "NCIS" does well, but, "NCIS" doesn't and isn't expected to carry the entire CBS network in the way that "American Idol" is expected to at Fox. I think that part of what CBS and other networks look for as far as ratings is consistency and I give the cast and crew of "NCIS" credit for consistently doing well in a time slot where there is a lot of competition other than "American Idol." I think that if the Fox network could find a way that they would have "American Idol" airing every night year round.
