I think its going to be a very very long summer over at special ops. The people sitting on the panic button over the death spoiler are going to be pulling there hair out all summer and I'm not sure I can put up with it.
I loved and hated this episode, As a fan of Tiva there were some great highlights. I at first hated Tony's actions in the first half hour but thought he was brilliant in hour #2. Gibbs/Vance/Franks were all great, it was a well written episode you really had to be on your toes to follow what was going on. One thing that bugged me is I'd love to know when NCIS got into the business of wet work. I know this is not the worlds most realistic show when it comes to the agency they portray but thats just getting daft.

Okay, so due to a change in plans (I swear, unrelated to anything on TV!) we came home early & I was able to watch the big season ender in the privacy of my own home (in case screaming or other unseemly conduct was warranted.)
Pretty cool ep! The majority's guess was right -- I hate to be "glad" anyone is gone, but if they had to take someone out, she seemed to be the one most NCIS fans were willing to lose. And that "surprise" ending was indeed an extra twist -- actually, I thought that was pretty cool (because I'm so convinced we'll go back to status quo fairly soon I'm looking forward to see how they undo what Leon just did.
High points? Honestly, my favorite bit was Leon not only turning out to be McGeek Sr., but I actually laughed out loud at his giving McGee a toothpick. funny bit! Lots of interesting stuff from each of the team.
I'm gonna like Leon, I think -- I liked his very professional, all-business presentation of the crime scene to Gibbs. It worked to have him run the info for Gibbs with Tony & Ziva outside, still morose & feeling guilty about what happened. Still -- what's he hiding, what did he purge from his file? ah, more secrets!
I wasn't comfortable that Tony & Ziva left the director alone, with the idea that the characters would do that, and was even more queasy with the writers' development of that plot line. It felt kinda vague & noncommittal; even thought they mention being "ordered" to leave her, they never really made it clear to the viewer whether they really were in a position to have to leave her as she asked, or (more likely, they way they wrote it as 'irresponsible Tony') that they were making the wrong choice to just let her go without security. That led to interesting but uneven scenes (guilt/non-guilt -- but that may be more like a real life reaction, after all!)
But we didn't lose any of Gibbs' team, which lets us breathe easy (easier?) this summer. Whew!

About the ending? ? I am really curious about what he shredded. And like Mr. Clark mentioned this isn't the most realistic series ever and as we all know I'm no good with the lawyer gobbledygook . But I would assume he actually broke the law doing that. Whether he is the director or not I don't think you can just go into personal files ( even your own ) and just shred documents. This is a government agency after all. As for what happened to the team? I am torn . I think it was a great ending for the episode last night . But am nervous for how they handle this next year. They did a similar thing on House last year with less than great results IMO. I hope shywriter is right and it is resolved quickly next year.

I haven't seen the episode yet so cannot comment on it, although, that rarely stops me. I am sorry they had to kill another female. Dang, all those homely men on NCIS. They could have taken out one of those. I didn't dislike Jenny but I did dislike how Gibbs treated her. TPTB should have writen her kicking his butt before they killed her off. He was soooooooooo out of line and now it's too late.

I managed to snag a pretty good screen cap of it, which you can see Here someone over at Special Ops transcribed it, either way it looks pretty clearly like a performance evaluation or review. No idea why he would be so quick to shred it.

Excellent ep and a great ending.
The new director is a great foil for Gibbs - exactly what the Shep should have been!
The only disappointing thing for me was the resolution of the Paris mission. A bit of a let down after such a long wait.
Tony needn't beat himself up over not tailing the Shep. She probably would have fired him if she found out that he hadn't followed her orders to take the day off. A no win situation.
I don't think it's much of a stretch to imagine how Gibbs will 'get the band back together' next season - except in the case of Ziva. I still think it's a bit of a stretch that she's still with the team given the circumstances of her posting. A bit of creative or creative license writing will be required there.

I thought that "Judgement Day" was a great episode and a great season finale. I think that writers had problems deciding whether to let Jenny be the Director or Gibbs's former love interest and so I didn't like that dynamic. I think that the new director could be a good foil for Gibbs and I think that it will be interesting to see when the Director's actions will come back to haunt him, because, he not only shredded up a document, but, he also covered up the truth behind Jenny's death. As far as breaking up the team, I think that at the very least that it's a great way to get longtime fans interested and guessing about next season and to get new or casual fans interested in "NCIS" which is something "Angel Of Death" completely failed at last season.
