Woo-hoo, thanks! Will run over & watch all that MW goodness... (but with NCIS #1, why aren't they doing the main talk shows?? Maybe a hassle with CBS's main talk show, Letterman, ,orning whatever show and even Daily Show all in New York, it's not as easy for them to get away while they're filming...? Even now, CBS doesn't seem to be pushing them too much -- I guess if they became #1 without a lot of network support CBS figures they don't need it now... ) They don't push it because everyone (should) know that their only number 1 by defualt as neither American Idol, 24 or Lost has aired a single episode this year. Edit: as I suspected they are no longer #1, here are last nights ratings. 1.bp.blogspot.com/_ySlfJy-RMwc/S04a_InA8OI/AAAAAAAAAUY/ofY6DMfozMI/s1600-h/1.JPG [/img] Ok apparently this image wont load for me so if its not for you CLICK THIS LINK!!!
I think that it is really hard to bring Fox into a discussion about television ratings when "American Idol" the only show that TPTB at Fox seem to care about is only on for half a year and I would not be surprised if that show was over this year with Simon leaving. There is also no guarantee that if Simon decides to work with Fox again that a new show of his would be a hit. CBS does have a lot of forensic/crime fighting shows, but, at least there is some diverse programming and the entire network isn't built on only one show bringing in ratings. As far as MW, I have never gotten the impression that he has wanted to be a big star with the lead role, but, that doesn't mean that he doesn't have the talent and or the ability to be a lead actor in a movie or television show because I think that he does. Like dzero said I think that he does just enough interviews and appearaces to keep the CBS power that be happy, but, that he doesn't seem interested in being seen all over the place and in the media every two minutes.

I don't disagree with either of you about MW -- I know MW said a while back he doesn't like doing interviews (worrying about what he said, hindsight, etc) but I was thinking more of CBS and the showrunners -- they haven't seemed to press any of the cast to do more visible stuff -- I know Harmon was just on Leno, but the sinking ship Leno -- was he on much when Leno was on the Tonght Show? Certainly since CBS has both NCIS & Letterman, you'd think they might push their casts more into his show (doesn't it work that way?) but I don't remember hearing that any of them were on his show -- have they been? It's like that goofy Entertainment Tonight, a thoroughly irritating show, over all, but man, they have featured NCIS over the years when others didn't. I'd think that at least up until only the last year or so, only HArmon would have had the clout & "rank" to just say he wasn't going to do appearances if he didn't want to. Don't TV shows work like movies, demanding that their cast go spread the word every so often? (and as a side note: I've always been curious -- and appreciative -- that no one in the cast has used their notariety to trumpet their personal politics. I'm sure all of them have views -- someone said that McCallum identified himself as a Republican; Pauley had shown up at Prop 8 rallies, etc -- but especially given they play law enforcement officers in a military setting, I've wondered if the show has given them some limitations in their contracts keeping them fairly quiet about that. I have appreciated it because on more than one occasion, I've let myself lose interest in an actor or musician just because I made the mistake of listening to his/or her views, and if they strike me as just wrong, it sort of wrecks them for me afterward ... MW in particular does a wonderful job of being entertaining and delightful without being the least bit contentious -- he's clearly bright but doesn't stray into touchy territories. Maybe it's shallow of me, but for my escapism, I want to love the characters I'm ogling, and not have to remember what the actor behind them has said! )

Interesting video and articles on Michaels NCIS blog. In the interview for the sound bite he made, he mentioned DA and JA. I think he is quite hard on himself saying he can be difficult to be around. www.mikeweatherly.com/

The best one yet, with his wife even participating!! pt 1 of 2 Michael Weatherly Guests on 'The Rachael Ray Show' Mon 10-May 2010 www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrL32HH0mIMpt 2 of 2 Michael Weatherly Guests on 'The Rachael Ray Show' Mon 10-May 2010 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZP8Is14Cyp4And why so good?? Maybe my favorite line from MW yet: in describing himself, he said he's "hung like Einstein and smart as a horse."(and explains how he can't seem to keep his pants on, on the set.... ;D)

for his real voice... (But yes, I did take notice of what he actually said with it too ;D) "hung like Einstein and smart as a horse." Kind of glad I consulted the dictionary for this particular set of idioms before asking here... ;D

Thanks to Nici at Special Ops... ;D NCIS' scoop: Michael Weatherly inks new contractby Michael Ausiello Tony is officially staying put. Michael Weatherly is the latest NCIS regular to ink a new multi-year deal with the show, sources confirm to me semi-exclusively. For those keeping track at home, here’s where the 2010 NCIS Contract Renegotiation Saga stands as of this evening: Of the five actors in limbo, Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum have all reached new deals to return. Sean Murray is the sole cast member still in negotiations. Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had deals in place for next season. Relieved Tony is sticking around for season 8 and beyond? ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/06/14/michael-weatherly-inks-new-contract/
