Woo-hoo, thanks! Will run over & watch all that MW goodness... (but with NCIS #1, why aren't they doing the main talk shows?? Maybe a hassle with CBS's main talk show, Letterman, ,orning whatever show and even Daily Show all in New York, it's not as easy for them to get away while they're filming...? Even now, CBS doesn't seem to be pushing them too much -- I guess if they became #1 without a lot of network support CBS figures they don't need it now... ) They don't push it because everyone (should) know that their only number 1 by defualt as neither American Idol, 24 or Lost has aired a single episode this year. Edit: as I suspected they are no longer #1, here are last nights ratings. 1.bp.blogspot.com/_ySlfJy-RMwc/S04a_InA8OI/AAAAAAAAAUY/ofY6DMfozMI/s1600-h/1.JPG[/img] Ok apparently this image wont load for me so if its not for you CLICK THIS LINK!!!

He probably just does enough of them to keep the network publicists off his back. JMHO

Cool article and great to see him being such a success now when for a while it looked as if only JA could go on from DA.... but kind of sad to only see them talk about DA as a big failure... (and as something already a decade ago....)

(and as something already a decade ago....) I think Jessica gets the media attention but most of it really doesn't have much if anything to do with her career as an actress. I think that MW is the one who has been a big success since DA and I've seen some people say that it is hard to believe that the actor playing both Tony and Logan Cale is the same person and I think that MW has really found a role that gives him the chance to show his range both as a dramatic and comedic actor.

I've seen some people say that it is hard to believe that the actor playing both Tony and Logan Cale is the same person Boy, that was me, big time -- I'd heard that "Logan" was on NCIS and must have watched for about 30 minutes before I was finally pretty sure that the irritating goofball was our beloved, serious, brainiac Logan. I didn't like the show much at all and really didn't like Tony, but I was so intrigued that it was the same guy I went back for another episode, and another, and another... well, that and the fact that Mr. Shy started watching too, also surprising, not his type of show -- but he fell for Abby at first sight & sound...... the rest is history... (the only thing I liked about the show at all that first ep was the strong Gibbs-Abby connection: rather than coming off as a pale, "aren't we cool to show you an unexpected pairing," I immediately got the hidden, big-hearted side of Gibbs, that a tough, no nonsense Marine respected job skill and guileless candor so much that he could develop such an affectionate admiration for a goth geek. Excellent -- but still not enough to bring me back to watch if it hadn't been for MW!)

JMHO I don't disagree that he may not want to do them, but especially in that case, if he has to do some for the show's sake or whatever, wouldn't he prefer to do the better, bigger name ones than the obscure daytime ones that are kinda awful? Of course, he seems to get more articles and ET attention than nearly anyone -- he does more than Harmon, and the others seem to have fewer trips and guest spots. (Does Sean Murray just not want to do them or doesn't anyone call? Cote was getting some new attention during the whole TIVA push last spring... )

(and as something already a decade ago....) I hated to see that too -- but I decided to take it as a too-glib, not too enlightened toss away line from the author. I guess if he wanted to judge merely by income production, between Titanic and Avitar both making mega-$$$$$$$$$$$ for Cameron, DA could seem like a 'failure'

DiNozzo spent most of the hour tied to a chair as he was interrogated by a terrorist, still cracking jokes and dropping movie lines (the climax involved him citing a scene from "True Lies"), and yet somehow the same old DiNozzo behavior could seem deadly serious, like the flip of a switch. I have to say that line quite succinctly describes my favorite part of Tony's character, MW is brilliant at playing out the opening of a joke in a light way but by the time he gets to the punchline its all business.

You know, I think I'd trade the 24 or so eps we get each year for about 5 really tasty ones like we had in that episode! That was some show. And he doesn't need to be tied to a chair to have his joke-to-serious lines pack a punch -- but it doesn't hurt!

I guess if he wanted to judge merely by income production, between Titanic and Avitar both making mega-$$$$$$$$$$$ for Cameron, DA could seem like a 'failure' And too think that DA was so much deeper and more complex than both of the big hits.... I can halfway understand with 'Avatar' with the 3D and SciFi world thing, but 'Titanic', tsss. Who would want whichever DiCaprio's character was called when you can have a Logan. ;D I think Jessica gets the media attention but most of it really doesn't have much if anything to do with her career as an actress. I know what you mean, I was just thinking of that first time after DA when I think JA had several movies and MW no new projects. (Or at least that's how it seemed over here and from my memory)

I think that quite often that quality is better than quantity.

I think that quite often that quality is better than quantity. And isn't there still the Hollywood snobbery that TV is less "worthy" for an actor than movies? I always wondered about that -- it may be true if you're George Clooney or someone working regularly, getting all the movies you can do at any given time, but as we've seen with JA & MW, the quality of the work we've been able to see from MW since DA is admirable, TV series or not. And while JA has worked more than many starlets who have made the jump to movies, it hasn't been too notable. As ML fan said/implied, her press has been less about her work, and more about her shopping trips and openings.
