Lionsgate is picking up Cruise/Wagner-produced remake The Eye out of turnaround from Paramount and is in talks with Jessica Alba to star and French helmers David Moreau and Xavier Palud to direct. Variety says the film will shoot this winter.
The Eye is a thriller about a cornea transplant recipient who sees disturbing images in the mirror that send her on a quest to find out what happened to the eye's previous owner. The original was made in Hong Kong by Thai directing brothers Danny and Oxide Pang.
Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner persuaded Paramount to buy the remake rights in 2002 and got close to making it there with Renée Zellweger. When Zellweger dropped out, the project lost its momentum and the studio put it into turnaround.
Alba is in talks to make The Eye her next picture after the Fantastic Four sequel. Moreau and Palud, who last directed the French thriller Ils, will make The Eye their first U.S. picture.
Hate to say it but the plot doesn't sound that good to me , kinda hoping she doesn't do this one .
I had not seen or heard before that Eva Longoria tried out for the role of Max. July 28, 2006 -- EVA Longoria is having the last laugh now that "Desperate Housewives" is a huge hit. She tells Playboy she was turned down for the starring role in "Dark Angel" (which Jessica Alba got.) From today´s NY Post, here´s the link, www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix/long_memory_pagesix_.htm

I thought Desperate Houswiveswas a huge hit. As in pasttense ;D. Anways , while I have never seen Longorias name ( or any other actresses name ) mentioned, all the interviews with JA at the time of DAs premiere mentioned how she auditioned and won the part over something like a thousand other actresses.

I know that Jessica Alba was featured on the TV Guide Channel and that it was a mini bio, my question is are the interviews new or just a rehash of previous interviews of her and people that she´s worked with? I´m just curious.
I was in a drugstore yesterday and saw JA on the cover of some magazine. I think it was Cosmo or some kind of Cosmo spin-off but I can't seem to find the pic online. But the weird thing is I didn't even think about buying the magazine . There was a time when I rushed out to buy every magazine she was in. Even if she was just mentioned and not featured in a new profile I'd still get it. It's not that I'm less a fan of hers now, it's just that since she has gotten more and more high profile there are soooo many magazines she is on the cover of or soooo many TV shows she is on. It's hard to keep up with all of them and they are kind of less special to me .
I'm happy for JA and all the success she has had and I will continue to be but I kinda had the realization that it's slightly less fun to be her fan than it used to be. If that makes any sense . It's like those people who are fans of a certain band before they hit it big and everyone knows who they are. Sometimes the old fans wish they still had the band all to themselves .
I know what you mean. I've never bought fan magazines but I have 4 younger siblings who buy them. They used to rush out every Friday looking for Jessica in the magazine and now they don't.
They are still loyal fans but some of the eagerness is gone because they know they will still see her all over the place.
Almost every photo of her will end up at Maestro's place anyway. ;D
Our little girl certainly doesn't need to fight to be seen anymore! Flicking through a gossip mag while waiting for my Take-Away/Out the other night, I noticed that JA was featured no less than 4 times. Not little mentions either, but all at least 1/3 page articles!

Jessica Alba and Dane Cook spent a few days this month shooting scenes for their Lionsgate comedy, Good Luck Chuck, in the penguin habitat at West Edmonton Mall. (Yes, you read that right, penguins living in a shopping mall.)
Red-hot Jessica Alba knows how to dine out in style and so do a heck of a lot of her friends. Alba and no less than 15 pals chowed down at classy Morton's Steakhouse near Canada Place over the weekend. Among the mob, was actor Dane Cook, who just happens to be her co-star in the romantic comedy she's currently lensing here called Good Luck Chuck. Alba's also been seen regularly walking her tiny pooch near Stanley Park and hanging out in coffee shops in the area. She'll soon be pulling double duty when the mega- budget Fantastic Four 2 starts shooting here later this month.
