Have you seen "Shalom?" Did "Shalom" start Season 4 off with a bang or did it fizzle? There are spoilers on our sister board, NCIS Special Ops, if you're interested. Here's the link, www.ncisspecialops.proboards29.com/

I enjoyed this Ziva centric episode and how the team worked together and their interaction during this episode. I enjoyed Abby's welcome home hug that she gave to Tony because it was in character. I think that the lack of Ducky in this episode had to do with there not being a body and instead trying to prove that Ziva was innoccent more than anything else. As much as I enjoy seeing a humorus Tony, I think that it was nice to see Tony be serious and take charge and stand up for himself when he needed to during this episode. I also liked how Ziva defended herself in her fight with the suspect at the hotel. I'm willing to give Agent Lee a chance to prove herself, but, I hope that she won't be made into a regular character, because, I think that we already have too many regular characters.

I also liked how Ziva defended herself in her fight with the suspect at the hotel. I missed the very beginning but saw most of the rest and enjoyed it. I agree with ML fan about this part. Ziva in the motel was both badass and very clever. Good combo .

Seeing that Ziva fight scene in the motel almost makes me want to try to write a Ziva/Max crossover of some sort.

The problem with season premiere's is the build up of anticipation. I have to say that I anticipated too much and ended up being a bit disappointed. There were a few nice scenes, but they didn't add up to a great ep for me :-(.
I absolutely HATE it when Tony says (out aloud) 'What would Gibbs do'?
I think Aerie has the right idea. Go on holiday and then watch the first few eps back to back to get a proper fix. :-)

dzeroWhy do you keep missing the beginning? You missed the beginning of Freak Nation! Set an alarm. Buy a timer. Ask your dog to bite you? AngelZWhen I read all the posts, at Special Ops, leading up to Shalom, I can understand how some are disappointed. There was soooooooo much anticipation. It's their way of reminding us that it's Harmon's show. I'm just happy that Sir DPB really likes our Michael and I hope this continues.

I quite liked it, Ziva annoyed me a bit - she was too soft. Also i could have done without Gibbs. The best part for me was the 'Black Lung' secret meeting. Oh and the bowling nuns.

I think that Ziva has been given a real opportunity to be developed and given things to do that are positive and help the team and that her background has been used in a constructive manner, whereas I thought that Kate never got the chance to really show the skills that made her a valuable special agent or a Kate centic episode and that her background was played down or ignored and that while the writers still like to make sure that a viewer knows that NCIS is a male-dominated show, imo, that the writers didn't make the same mistake again in not developing Ziva's character on her own, like they did with Kate.

OK so I am way late with this question but I have to ask? In this ep Ziva goes to the Israeli embassy and talks to some spy guy who reveals they have had Ziva under surveillance and have observed Tony leaving her apartment ( can't remember if they have pics or just that someone saw him leaving ) anyways what does everyone think this means? Were they hooking up? Any other ideas? On the show they just kind of blew right past that nugget of info because there was so much else going on this ep but I'm curious about what everyone thinks.

Glad you asked; I think I asked (somethere...?) well after the fact too & didn't get much response-- I'd suspected that it was a Tony-Ziva hook-up that the writers thought they might develop, but went nowhere... the only other thing I wondered about was it being related to Tony's being in charge while Gibbs was gone that also went nowhere... Either way... it's a dangling thread that, if they pick it up again now, is way too late to be cool.
