I remember in biology once we had this huge discussion about dogs and my bio teacher said something about pretty much all dogs are destined to have many health problems becuase they have been bred from wolves and most dogs now look nothing like their anscenstors. And he said that Pugs are one of the worst for health problems, i dont know what exactly, and i cant remember why but it does have soemthing to do with the squished face thing

Yes, because of their 'squished in' nose, they are more prone to upper respitory problems. With Dixie, you hear her before you see her:) It's pretty funny actually. She sleeps with me & she often snores. She hasn't had any real problesm except for stuffy nose off & on. Of course, she's only 9 months old. I've read that this breed is also more prone to seizures, as well as eye injuries, because they protrude out so much. None of that with her, yet...... Knock on wood.........

As I said before , I had two Pugs a long time ago, and they were very healthy. One lived for 11 years and the other one for 10 years ( he drowned in my mom´s swiming pool ).

Sorry to hear that:(
Like any pet, some will have health problems, some hardly at all. It varies with each individual pet. I raise Dachshunds. They are 'known' to have back problems because of their lenght. I've had Dachshunds for over 17 years & I've only had one with a very minor back problem.
