I have always liked the song "Hold On" by Sarah McLachlan and I know that she based the song on a movie that she saw, does anyone know the name of that movie? Thanks in advance.

My fav song site is songmeanings.net. They allow posts following the lyrics where people can discuss the song. This was posted in relation to "Hold On" by Sarah McLachlan by soundofherwings on 06-20-2003 @ 12:19:10 PM I thought you guys might be interested in this... Sarah McLachlan introduced it with this explaination at VH1 Storytellers... "This is a song, basically um, another one of those few and rare occasions where a song came out very quickly and easily. It was from pure emotion. Um, I watching a, a documentary called a 'Promise Kept' it was made in Canada. It was about this woman who uh, discovered her fiance was HIV positive and basically the story followed her and her husband. They got married, um, and he got progressively sicker and she took care of him right up until the end, and she was telling her story with just such, y'know, beautiful clarity and honesty and uh, it just, it struck home in a way that I, I couldn't really describe except by writing this song and I really feel like it's a, sort of a, something that came out of me through her. This is called 'Hold On'." www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=5768 I hope this helps ML Fan. There are 15 other comments attached to this song - you might find what you were looking for. Cate

I've looked for, but, I've never been able to find the lyrics to "All For Love" by Nancy Wilson, she and her sister Ann are more famous from their work in Heart, "All For Love" is featured on the "Say Anything" soundtrack perhaps that could help. Any help is welcome and thanks in advance.

Sorry, the only song I have is "These Dreams" by Heart. I have the movie "Say Anything" (John Cusack) on DVD but I've never watched it. It was a gift and I thought it seemed like it was a teeny bopper movie, which I usually cannot watch. Do you know in what part of the movie this song is played? I could have one of my pack of brothers write the lyrics for you if they knew where to look for it. The lyrics might show up in the sub-titles.

Say Anything is most definitely not a teeny bopper movie. It is funny, smart and genuinely romantic. Whoever gave it to you as a present did you a great favor . Now do yourself a favor and take it with you on your yearly trip to paradise .

All For Love
Written by John Bettis & Martin Page, Produced by Richie Zito Performed by Nancy Wilson
Looking at you tonight Breathless at what I see In your eyes there’s someone Come to carry me
Some never have a chance Some threw their chance away Now it’s in my hands I face it unafraid
If we ever did one thing that was right We gave it all for love Saved it all for love
Didn’t we touch the fire of love And make music out of madness We gave it all for love
Everything’s still to come One thing will stay the same We will heal each other And never turn away To my lonely heart you are my home
We gave it all for love Saved it all for love Didn’t we touch the fire of love And make music out of madness We gave it all for love
To my lonely heart you are my home
Didn’t we touch the fire of love Tear down the walls for love And make music out of madness Show me the way to your heart
Show me the way
Yeahhhhh
ML Fan, post it the way you want it and I'll delete this post.

I zipped to the end of the movie and the lyrics were there. A friend was over so he copied them from the sub-titles. Took five minutes. I try to order DVDs that have sub-titles. Sometime it's hard to hear exactly what was said and friends are always placing bets on what words were spoken in the dialogue. Sub-titles make the solution easy. ;D

There's a song that I think is called "You're Never Alone" and it's a duet with a woman who has country/pop type of voice, it's newer song, I think, but, I don't know who the artist is and it isn't sung by Faith Hill or Trisha Yearwood. Thank you for any help in advance.

Phew. My quick little google really had me thinking you were talking about a Christian song (Dzero twitches over country songs doesn’t he? Wonder what he would do if he were forced to listen to a Christian/pop-y thingy ) Quick Amazon search resolved my fear however there is a country song by Jim Brickman and Sara Evans (the lady who sucked on Dancing with the Stars and then quit). You can listen to a clip on Amazon

(Dzero twitches over country songs doesn’t he? Wonder what he would do if he were forced to listen to a Christian/pop-y thingy ) Hmmmm as long as it doesn't have that twangy voice thing I'd be ok. It's the twangy thing I really hate , I can feel it sucking the IQ points out of my head .
