That's less popular over all than American football, here; I just grew up in a state that is famous for its passion for basketball of all levels and it's the only game I can follow, so I have a definite bias...) Hmmmmm....Indiana? or maybe North Carolina? Even though I played Soccer and not Basketball, it's the NBA Championships I'll be watching tonight. Rooting for Shaq and trying not to get all pissed that the idiots traded him from the Lakers

Hmmmmm....Indiana? or maybe North Carolina? At the risk of sounding like Tony DiNozzo: the name of the 1986 Gene Hackman movie wasn't "Tarheels," now, was it?? It was "Hoosiers," which was also the name of the team I watched faithfully until IU was dumb enough to "let" Bob Knight go... sigh...Just ain't the same series, though, without Reggie Miller making 15 good 3-pointers in 90 seconds (or whatever insane numbers he was making...)

with all the football/soccer talk, I thought why not ;D back on topic, here in the US today is Flag Day I've never really understood what Flag Day is for , seems that Independence Day and Memorial Day kind of covers everything you need in patriotic holidays IMO. But still, might as well

Former Spice girl "Posh Spice" is married to David Beckham (he's called Becks in UK tabloids). (RANDOM SQUEEAGE [simply because i have no where to squee and opening up a new thread would be silly since i think i'm the only 'soccer' fan] - Germany are just *guh* last nights game was just edge of seat, pant wettingly exciting.

I haven't fallen off the planet, yet, and have heard of both of them. It didn't compute with the pic/ad/whatever. Posh had one song I liked. I remember the lyrics were intriguing but of course I don't remember any of them. Is this he?

I'm never quite sure what filters in to America from the rest of the world.
Yes Aerie that is the captain of England, who played tonight and unfortunately won (i have nothing against the team it's just the media here that drive me crazy). He is a good player no doubt but i've never been that drawn to him.

Davy Barry's "Talk Like A Pirate Day" article is a little outdated. (2002) from way back before it was named the 'high holy day' of Pastafarianism. See www.venganza.org/ and www.venganza.org/flash/guidetopastafarianismpreloaded.swf Which originated in Oregon, just like seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/books/2001991372_pirates29.html says. BTW: According to the official site: www.talklikeapirate.com/ They are playing wife swap with an unsuspecting couple next Monday. I personally would not have thought that you could do 'wife swapping' on national TV, but apparently censorship standards have changed. I still think it would have been a fabulous idea to let Max and Logan get hot and heavy in season two and let conservatives freak out about how much was real and how much was acting 'cause everyone knew they were really together. [glow=green,2,300]Oregon is such a weird place.[/glow]
